Napaluha ako after this 1989 PBA All Star Game...After Toyota was disbanded in 1983...they played together again that year in 89.....and that last play was really made for the PBA fans...after shaking hands.....Vintage PBA...thanks for this...
According to Jawo, walang due dilligence sa players and staff yung sale. He said na hindi sila por kilo. After that dun na nagsimula feud nila, umabot pa sa guestings sa talk show silang dalawa eh. Dun nagsimula yung parinigan on national tv. Tapos ayan na nga 1989, pinaka unang PBA All Star Game Rookies-Sophomores vs Veterans.
The last play of the 1989 PBA All Star Game came down as one of the most pivotal moments in the history not just of the PBA and Philippine Basketball but the lives of Mon Fernandez & Robert Jaworski, two of the league's iconic and legendary pillars... After a falling out of relations leading to the disbandment of the Toyota Super Corollas, they became bitter rivals who have hated each other, manifested in that legendary Ginebra-Purefoods & Ginebra-Tanduay rivalry... Until the 1987 All-Star Game... where the fresh batch of the most exciting Rookies-Sophomores square off against the grizzled Veterans from the 80s... That last legendary play "Jaworski to Fernandez" led to the warming up & resumption of relations between the two men, orchestrated by the equally legendary coach Baby Dalupan... This newly reformed partnership will lead to the formation of the Philippine Dream Team to the 1990 Beijing Asian Games with Jaworski coaching the team that includes Mon Fernandez and the best of the Philippine Basketball of the era... This was made possible by the open era basketball instituted by FIBA allowing professional & club players to join amateur players...
and fernandez returned the favor in the 2009(?) crispa-toyota reunion game where mon passed the ball to jawo for his only attempt which proved to be the game winner (or maybe go-ahead basket). both guys had an intertwined destiny only seen in the movies!
@@marlonpaglingayen9092 I was and still up to this day a huge Mon Fernandez fan and I was expecting the 1st PBA All Star game MVP award would be given to him after the game specially with that winning basket but they gave it to Elmer Cabahug of the losing team for scoring 24 points against 20 points by Fernandez. They were very objective in choosing the award which was the right thing to do.
Just disappointed that Ramon Fernandez did not win the MVP for the game. Voting was done at the end of the 3rd quarter. Was it Elmer Cabahug who won the plum (though not his fault but the voters). My all-time favorite play ever...Jaworski to Fernandez! Incredible shot also by Don Ramon!
For me the best play or basket or whatever you call it in the PBA. EVER! It looks like heaven made it best written and played out The history story between 2 icons The best players from two separate generations united A passionate crown of fans A time when philippine basketball at its finest to be never again seen but remebered.
Eto ung panahon n napaiyak Ako s shake hands n Mon at jawo. I'm an avid Toyota fan Kya wl tlga akong tulak kabigin s dlawang players nyn n magkumpare p in real life
Jawo,Fernandez and Coach Baby,this could'nt get any better!👏👏👏

They had a so-called cold war after the disbandment of Toyota...

It's about the MVP....
Lakas ng karisma ng PBA noon talaga
ngayon humihingi ng pansin sumasayaw sila

Glory days of PBA....
PBA will never be the same again without Sonny Jaworski and Ramon Fernandez..
Galing mo don ramon, the franchice, the goat, of the pba.

The longest 4 seconds ever nakapag reverse layup pa 😂🤣😂
It took the guts of coach Baby that designed the play & shook their hands after .
matagal naman talaga 4 seconds sa basketball.
Subokan mo ulublob yng ulo Mo Sa tubig W/in 4 seconds.
