  • After that bad experience on Kochi Airport we managed to have a great flight to Kuching in Malaysia and things went smoothly. Our bodies and mind still function on India time but it is not necessarily a bad thing. In a few months we will return to India and I do not less look forward to it than ever before. But for now we are exited to be here in Borneo, Malaysia. We do not have real plans formulated but I am sure it will be interesting here. Of course for the first video we went to the famous waterfront in Kuching and took a look around. Let´s how that went. Oh yes, first is first, for breakfast we had - how else could it be - some roti canai, or as they call them in India "parrotha" at a Pakistani restaurant.
Anyway, let´s try to give this video a "like" and maybe even a comment, I would love to hear from you.

Please don't skip the adds as this is what keeps us running, give the video a like and maybe even a comment if it is not too much to ask for as it then will be more present in todays UA-cam algorithm.

Great to walk around that Kuching Waterfront and the kids look happy as well as excited with this new place 👍👍 lt's interesting to see Olive talking to us....give her more time and chance to talk to the camera...such a cutie pie, love her ❤️ Oh, wow, she can still use a few Malay words. When he mentioned certain race are humbled, absolutely he is are racism, because sarawak races mentioned more than what he mentioned. We have Iban, Chinese, malay, bidayuh, melanau and more. As a sarawakian we are all humbled people no matter what they race or colour. Welcome to sarawak sir enjoy your trip and God bless..

Since you are in Kuching, try our local food like, kolo mee, Sarawak laksa, kueh chap. Go to Carpenter Street for food. Visit the Sarawak Culture Museum, the largest in Malaysia.
You should come back at night when its more lively and there's food also. The DUN is our local "parlimentary" building. The fort next to the DUN is actually a museum dedicated to the White Rajah.
FYI, there are 28 ethnics groups in Sarawak.

Gula apong is originally from sarawak so when you see aiskrim gula apong you must try. It's quite similar to gula melaka which is some type of local brown sugar. And also kek lapis Sarawak which is speciality only from sarawak. They bake the layer cake one layer by layer and it's very special. Laksa Sarawak, Mee kolok, and when you eat Nasi campur there try the buah dabai and Sayur midin.
Anyway, "orang asli" is translation of "native people" so all the native people in Malaysia are called orang asli. One of them is that sir tribe orang ulu kelabit. Others are Iban, bidayuh, melanau and etc..
And please please please don't let your children or even you swim in the rivers in sarawak, the crocodiles there are not very friendly 😂😅
Oh and you can show your kids hornbills, they are from there. that bird is sarawak pride ❤

Thanks for sharing you so funny 😂 you were like aww from the beginning till the end ☺ I'm glad you like Kuching, Sarawak my home... I missed Kuching 😅 so much. Rajah(King or boss haha) James Brooke; that guy you spoke with him at the garden kid park Ian he is Kelabit one of the native race in Borneo Sarawak, but mainly is Iban hehe. You must go to Sarawak Culture or Cultural in Santubong you can go there by renting car, or car bus, or bus express or taxi. Damai beach has 2 area I forgot now Damai lagoon or Damai hotel or something I forgot sorry you have to do more research haha. Anyway regarding to Sarawak Culture is basicly they build small area for tourist to see how we lives (long house) and what we look like dress and they got show as well, if you find what is the best day to go to Sarawak culture you need whole day to visit that place. You know what I mean when you arrive hehe. At Damai beach you can do couple of activities snorkeling, kayak, climbing, you can hiking to secret waterfall and many more. Anyway ask people around how to get to Sarawak culture. Erm another activities you can check on rarest big smelly giant flower raflesia. The open only certain time and day so again you have to ask the customer service at Kuching city hehe. They have someone specially organise trip to hike and see rare giant flower hehe. Anyway so many thing you can do try cake lapis which is authentic only you can buy from Kuching Malaysia. Also try Sarawak Laksa and kolo me hope you like it soon. I was watching your whole video while I'm having me dinner hehe. I missed Kuching do much.😊 Anyway so many place you can see in Kuching, if you want to see real peoples place back door back street how we live in Kuching, Kuching is very big place haha. We have old place building serberkas, 3rd mile, 4 and half mile, bdc, so many place you can go it's like separate town or small city. Food wise you can try Kueh Chap mix pork kind soup with flat noodle. One of my favourite. Ask local they can teach you how to eat. I normally ate them with sambal/chillie sauce mix it and you love it. Sorry Muslim friend. Anyway so many things to do depends on what you like hehe. Anyway looking forward seeing your next video I can't wait hehe 😊

Happy to see you’re finally in my home State! Welcome to Sarawak.
1:15 You are right. No competition. Previous countries each have their own charm and uniqueness and a new place is a new experience and new things to learn.
12:12 Most probably someone with mental illness. I hardly see homeless people in Kuching… Or maybe I simply don’t look hard enough… 😅

@@yvesthesleeve, the gula apong ice cream in 12:52 is a palm sugar ice cream. It’s like the gula melaka you find in the peninsula but gula apong is made from the “apong” palm saps. It has a very caramelised and slightly bitter taste as compared to gula melaka.

13:15 Kuching is known as a city with a small town vibes to it. As for “old” buildings… the waterfront area is pretty much the “oldest” part of the city. That was allocated as the commerce area by the then Rajah Brooke.

15:07 That architecture is that of a “baruk”. It’s an architecture from the Dayak (Bidayuh ethnicity). A baruk used to be like a men’s club house… when the warriors would commune. Also a place where they keep the skulls from their headhunting days. Nowadays it is meant as a place where people hang out, eat and relax.
