- After that bad experience on Kochi Airport we managed to have a great flight to Kuching in Malaysia and things went smoothly. Our bodies and mind still function on India time but it is not necessarily a bad thing. In a few months we will return to India and I do not less look forward to it than ever before. But for now we are exited to be here in Borneo, Malaysia. We do not have real plans formulated but I am sure it will be interesting here. Of course for the first video we went to the famous waterfront in Kuching and took a look around. Let´s how that went. Oh yes, first is first, for breakfast we had - how else could it be - some roti canai, or as they call them in India "parrotha" at a Pakistani restaurant.
Anyway, let´s try to give this video a "like" and maybe even a comment, I would love to hear from you.

What an excellent first impression of Kuching, Sarawak. Great to walk around that Kuching Waterfront and the kids look happy as well as excited with this new place 👍👍 lt's interesting to see Olive talking to us....give her more time and chance to talk to the camera...such a cutie pie, love her ❤️ Oh, wow, she can still use a few Malay words. Well, thank you very much for sharing this fun video, Sir. And don't forget to try Sarawak laksa, Kolok Mee, Kek Lapis...these are Sarawak specialties.
Will try all of those speciality, I think Olive will be speaking a lot more in the future...

That is great
Totally agree, l like to see from foreigners perspective
Welcome to Sarawak. The people of Sarawak are not the same as the people of peninsula. They are much more friendly and respectful of outsiders. They don’t look at people’s religion and race..In Sarawak Malays.Ibans and Chinese people can eat at one restaurant different cook. And it’s time to celebrate Raya.Gawai Dayak Chinese new year.We visit each other house……
Yes I noticed that, very nice
Omg my 1st time seeing a vlogger went to my country :0
Oh wow, but some others where there I am sure...
The city is considered one of the cleanest cities in Malaysia, I love Kuching
Yes, I can easily believe that.
I appreciate the historical & cultural info you talk about in this video. It makes the vlog even more interesting. Thanks !!
Thanks a bunch
Hey, i saw you and your family once before in Kuching. Finally, i found your channel and wish your luck in travelling with family.❤
Thank you so much 🙂
I always stroll/walk for an hour at waterfront at nite, i did tat last nite… put on my ear phone and listen to my fav music…
That is great
Orange ulu.. Very humble and friendly people. Kelabits, kenyah, kayan, berawan.. Many more.
ah yes sure
When he mentioned certain race are humbled, absolutely he is are racism, because sarawak races mentioned more than what he mentioned. We have Iban, Chinese, malay, bidayuh, melanau and more. As a sarawakian we are all humbled people no matter what they race or colour. Welcome to sarawak sir enjoy your trip and God bless..
Since you are in Kuching, try our local food like, kolo mee, Sarawak laksa, kueh chap. Go to Carpenter Street for food. Visit the Sarawak Culture Museum, the largest in Malaysia.
You should come back at night when its more lively and there's food also. The DUN is our local "parlimentary" building. The fort next to the DUN is actually a museum dedicated to the White Rajah.
FYI, there are 28 ethnics groups in Sarawak.
Duly noted
People often forgot Kek lapis Sarawak a.k.a Sarawak layer cake!! They must try this one too when come here
Happy to see you and your family Happy. Thanks for the fabulous video.
Cheers mate
Oh, awww im so happy to foreigners coming to my city, i love my place. You are very welcome to my city! I'm so grateful! God bless you

Cheers mate
Such an amazing thumbnail ! Welcome back to Malaysia, Sir and family. Yeah, "Kuching" is cat in the Malay Language?
Thanks a bunch
@@yvesthesleevemost welcome, Sir. Sorry for the incorrect punctuation mark for the last sentence....should be a "full stop"...not a "question mark" 😅 ...a slip of the finger !
Kuching mostly malay, then Chinese and dayak. But if you taken the whole sarawak, the biggest ethnic would be iban followed by Chinese and malay. But anyway here in sarawak we are all unite Mostly we can mixed and seat together. Glad you enjoy your stay here in Kuching. Maybe next time you can travel other parts of Sarawak😊
We are already in Sibu actually, check out our trip on UA-cam
You are getting wonderful experiences by traveling the world with family. Congratulations!!!
Thank you so much!
Welcome to Kuching Sarawak. There are many interesting places that you and your family should visit. Don't forget to try Sarawakian food such as Sarawak Laksa, Kolok Mee, Kek Lapis, Javanese Noodles & many more.. Have a nice day 😁
Thanks for the tips! We sure will do
Thank you for showing a totally different part of Malaysia
Very welcome
Gula apong is originally from sarawak so when you see aiskrim gula apong you must try. It's quite similar to gula melaka which is some type of local brown sugar. And also kek lapis Sarawak which is speciality only from sarawak. They bake the layer cake one layer by layer and it's very special. Laksa Sarawak, Mee kolok, and when you eat Nasi campur there try the buah dabai and Sayur midin.
Anyway, "orang asli" is translation of "native people" so all the native people in Malaysia are called orang asli. One of them is that sir tribe orang ulu kelabit. Others are Iban, bidayuh, melanau and etc..
And please please please don't let your children or even you swim in the rivers in sarawak, the crocodiles there are not very friendly 😂😅
Oh and you can show your kids hornbills, they are from there. that bird is sarawak pride ❤
I sure will not let them swiss there, thanks. We did see lots of hornbills on Pulau Pankor, that is very special, maybe I see some here.
6:25 made my day!!!! Love the kids, especially the baby. 😊
Thanks mate

Very much
DUN = Dewan Undangan Negeri, which is the Sarawak Legislative Council, state equivalent to the Parliament.
Welcome back bos,
Thanks mate
Most people in Kuching can speak English so well!
Yes that's true
welcome to Sarawak, please come to any Iban longhouse village for your more interesting review and get to know the Iban longhouse village more closely.
My best advice to you is that it would be better if you could see for yourself the device festival on 1/6.
That makes the atmosphere more fun and you will definitely feel satisfied again.
Trying to figure that our
My suggestion is please come to the Iban village in the Betong area, there they still follow the customs of the old Iban tribe, 😁😁
My friend has also continued to support your video, keep up the good work friend.
Happy to see you and your lovely family enjoying in kuching. Looks like you are back home 🏡
It does
Welcome to Borneo, beautiful family ❤
Thanks mate
Welcome to Kuching. :) 34:35 Astana (lit The Palace) is an official residence of the governor of Sarawak build by the Rajah. The waterfront is cozy during the day, but its get happening at night.
Alright, that is what I thought.
Welcome to Sarawak..dont forget to visit 12 beautiful cities here in sarawak..😊..
not sure if it will be 12
Welcome back moonshine family.... Malaysia is always be your home...happy holidays
Thank you! 😃
Thanks for sharing you so funny 😂 you were like aww from the beginning till the end ☺ I'm glad you like Kuching, Sarawak my home... I missed Kuching 😅 so much. Rajah(King or boss haha) James Brooke; that guy you spoke with him at the garden kid park Ian he is Kelabit one of the native race in Borneo Sarawak, but mainly is Iban hehe. You must go to Sarawak Culture or Cultural in Santubong you can go there by renting car, or car bus, or bus express or taxi. Damai beach has 2 area I forgot now Damai lagoon or Damai hotel or something I forgot sorry you have to do more research haha. Anyway regarding to Sarawak Culture is basicly they build small area for tourist to see how we lives (long house) and what we look like dress and they got show as well, if you find what is the best day to go to Sarawak culture you need whole day to visit that place. You know what I mean when you arrive hehe. At Damai beach you can do couple of activities snorkeling, kayak, climbing, you can hiking to secret waterfall and many more. Anyway ask people around how to get to Sarawak culture. Erm another activities you can check on rarest big smelly giant flower raflesia. The open only certain time and day so again you have to ask the customer service at Kuching city hehe. They have someone specially organise trip to hike and see rare giant flower hehe. Anyway so many thing you can do try cake lapis which is authentic only you can buy from Kuching Malaysia. Also try Sarawak Laksa and kolo me hope you like it soon. I was watching your whole video while I'm having me dinner hehe. I missed Kuching do much.😊 Anyway so many place you can see in Kuching, if you want to see real peoples place back door back street how we live in Kuching, Kuching is very big place haha. We have old place building serberkas, 3rd mile, 4 and half mile, bdc, so many place you can go it's like separate town or small city. Food wise you can try Kueh Chap mix pork kind soup with flat noodle. One of my favourite. Ask local they can teach you how to eat. I normally ate them with sambal/chillie sauce mix it and you love it. Sorry Muslim friend. Anyway so many things to do depends on what you like hehe. Anyway looking forward seeing your next video I can't wait hehe 😊
Oh yes I think you can borrow native outfit set when you arrive at Sarawak culture village. I never tried before one day for me maybe soon. try dress to be come like us Iban native dress, your whole family should try 😊
I like it a lot here, very easy going atmosphere.
Not sure if we go to cultural village, that is something very touristy... But let's see
How you think about sarawak bro? Welcome to my country. Ohhhhaaaa
Thanks, I like it so far very much
Ur bahasa malaysia is getting better. Sounds like a local.
Cheers mate
Awesome first video from Sarawak! Enjoy!
Thanks a bunch
Welcome back,bro!
Thanks bro
thank you come to my city ... the best part the first area .. in the center place..cats place.. tq again come to kch.
Very happy to be here, what a great place.
Happy to see you’re finally in my home State! Welcome to Sarawak.
1:15 You are right. No competition. Previous countries each have their own charm and uniqueness and a new place is a new experience and new things to learn.
12:12 Most probably someone with mental illness. I hardly see homeless people in Kuching… Or maybe I simply don’t look hard enough… 😅
Yes I agree
@@yvesthesleeve, the gula apong ice cream in 12:52 is a palm sugar ice cream. It’s like the gula melaka you find in the peninsula but gula apong is made from the “apong” palm saps. It has a very caramelised and slightly bitter taste as compared to gula melaka.
13:15 Kuching is known as a city with a small town vibes to it. As for “old” buildings… the waterfront area is pretty much the “oldest” part of the city. That was allocated as the commerce area by the then Rajah Brooke.
15:07 That architecture is that of a “baruk”. It’s an architecture from the Dayak (Bidayuh ethnicity). A baruk used to be like a men’s club house… when the warriors would commune. Also a place where they keep the skulls from their headhunting days. Nowadays it is meant as a place where people hang out, eat and relax.
15:47 That’s the Sarawak State Assembly building… State legislative building.
Welcome to Kuching Mate.. Hope you & Family enjoying your stay here. See the differences comparing to Peninsular Malaysia.
Thanks mate
welcome back to malaysia..hope you and family enjoy..takecare yurself..❤️🙋👍
Thank you! 😃
