Got a 206 GTi. The 1.6 liter 110hp portugese version. Nowhere near this level of performance 🤣 But for a tiny soapbox on MDMA, it gives a lot of sensations behind the wheel.
@@MatanEyal96 there was the XS too, but from what I know only in Portugal the 110hp version was also called GTi. In France there is even no GTi, it's the S16, and the GTi 180 version is called RC
@@Droopy95mkDS i know :) the GTI and S16 are the same, just different names. Also the GTI 180 is the RHD variant and the RC is LHD. I had a '03 GTI myself and loved it, great fun to drive and very reliable. Today I daily a '03 1.6 XS

Same power, 16" rims and tires width 205 (45 thickness) For daily driving purposes it's fantastic, not too thirsty for gas but if you've got an ON/OFF right foot like mine you'll go 8.5 liters per 100 km lmao
Stage 2 and 230 hp? Mine is Stage 1 and have 236 hp, well, with a high flow K&N filter, but anyway. Im getting stage 3 now and will get 270 hp and 420 nm, 0 - 100 km/h in 4.6-4.7 secs

That has to be a really shit map to get only 22hp extra out of it. There's a guy with a mint coloured one that's pushed his to stage 3 and got 360bhp out of it so this has to be stock
@Adam McLaughlin where did you see me mention a 2.0l anywhere? The reason I can say this for a fact is I own one of these cars with a stage 2 remap at 260bhp. I don't know much about the mechanics of mapping or the key differences between a small or big engine but I do know enough to say its a shit map since they roll out the factory with 208bhp..

@jacobchatfield3117 stage 2 needs an intercooler sports cat that's it .. These mk1 N18 engines are a load of shit many issues with them I've spent £££ on mine and they are not tuneable at all face lift models had upgrades in engine rods etc but yeah you won't get much more than 230 BHP out these and keep engine safe. My advice stay well clear great car though when hour not spending out on it
@jacobchatfield3117 depends on the extent you're going to. You can spend anywhere from a few hundred up to a couple thousand, but again, it depends on what you're trying to achieve.
even worse than stock actually regarding the top speed. If he does floor it till the end it should reach 230km/h. It will take some time but car can reach that. I assume something wasn't right there :D
These mk1 Gti's will only push out circa 230 BHP max and stay relatively safe... imo like the old cooper s engine N14 this N18 engine is trash just like that engine was big reason why bmw and Peugeot binned it. Mk2 models had engine upgrades with conrods etc bit better and safer fot higher tuning still crap imo .. Then you got the problems fuel pumps break fast circ £1500 fitted they suffer with carbon build on valves direct injected walnutblast £400 timing chain issues i do love my car its huge fun to drive i think stage 1 is were they should be mines 225 BHP 360 NM torque keep this engine at that point anything further big issues down road
@ginobragoli1448 They are great fun quite cheap to run .. My advice keep it standard you map these even stage 1 you be looking at a new clutch the torque is unreal both fuel pumps go fast expensive because high pressure fuel pump needs to be OEM a grand there .. I've spent thousands on my car in last 4 yrs alot of upgrades in that when running right they are great nippy little cars.

The one I am looking at is a 2015 white 86.000 miles on the clock and states it's standard and recently had the following. Refurbished high pressure fuel pump, Pierburge low pressure fuel pump, New clutch kit, Valve stem seals, Water pump, Dual mass flywheel. Timing chain, By Peugeot Sport front and rear seats apparently £1000? Walnut shell cleaned intake, New original valve cover and seals, Battery, Wants £5300 may offer £5000 cash upon viewing. But I hear so many terror stories about these cars having continuous faults "don't buy one "stay clear" etc. Selling it because his girlfriend is pregnant and the pram and baby chair doesn't fit too well 🤷 Don't want to buy it then have to fork out more 💷 I don't have, don't see many of them about and I don't know anyone who has one so any opions I can get are welcome. Thank you
@ginobragoli1448 prince engines are not the best they don't tune that well either plus the direct injection issues .. but in fairness that car looks good if all that works done and its logged .. I love my car but I've spent an absolute fortune on it in last 5 years and I would not buy another .. and make sure its the face-lift there's been big upgrades to the engine polished crank rods etc ..plus you get a Diff has standard more reliable in general any no worries bud and good luck 👍
WTF ! I’ve got a stock 208 GTi with only dump valve and exhaust modification but any stage and I took 230 really easy and could get 240 i think and all of that on video 🤔
I don't understand OP's comment at all but there are several iterations of the GTi. The original 208 GTi produces a lot of heat, so to get the best out of it, you ideally want a better intercooler fitting and then remapping. Lots of GTi owners have recommended pipercross panel filters as they apparently make a noticeable improvement.
My peugwot 208 1.5 bluehdi is 100hp and top speed is only 188 kmh but it launches like it is running from hell unfortunately I have had an accident recently so it is being repaired I missed it so much

My Stage II was a software programming with new intake + new filter , stronger recirculation valve , bigger intercooler , other sparkplugs.

Is it called the GTI in portugal? The GTI was originally a 2.0 liter 138hp. The 1.6 110hp 3 door version is just called XS

Honda Civic 2.2cdti is heavier than 308 but remap 208bhp it went to 150mph yes it is diesel, so where did all the power go for the 208?

Yeah but your diesel probably has a heap more torque so it has the ability to keep climbing. Same power but your car has more torque so that’s why.

You do realise this is a 1.6 engine? You don't map a 1.6 and get the same power as a 2.0 or a V6 turbo engine, that's just common sense.

It could be you have the face lift model which has forged rods in it I think were you can go up to 250 at stage 2 with just bolt on mods
