- Mounting of the CROSSPRO Crash Bars and Skid Plate on the Honda XL750 Transalp 2023
This video is only for information and entertainment. I'm not a certified mechanic and have no affiliation with any of the brands shown on this video.
I've made a few changes to the bars and plate: swapped a few bolts (stainless steel to 12.9 grade steel for peace of mind) and removed the plastic protection on the bottom of the skid plate. Other than that, I think the whole set of protection is very compact (don't like the bulky stuff), good quality and enough for my needs.

Oi.reparei pelo ingles que é de Portugal 😅 .tenho tb uma transalp e vou colocar as proteções crosspro superiores.apenas à espera de pintar as originais de baixo .gostei dos faróis mas foge ao orçamento que pretendo

Boa tarde, a proteção de cárter da Crosspro pode ser montada sem necessidade dos ferros inferiores de proteção do motor? Isto é, a proteção do cárter fixa-se diretamente à mota? Obrigado pelo vídeo
Olá.
O conjunto vem com 2 suportes de aço inox (ver minuto 16:25) que se montam na mota, em locais pré definidos para esse efeito, e a proteção monta-se depois nesses suportes. Portanto a resposta à pergunta é não, não se monta diretamente na mota. A proteção original da Honda tem uma montagem diferente, pois monta nas barras.
Do you think aluminium crash bars are strong enough?
Not as strong as steel, but enough for me. It has done it's job to protect the fairing a couple of times already, at very slow speed though.
those bars and plate are very nice and cheap.
I do not like how close it is to the motor cases on the sides. It offers no protection on the sides.
Other brand do provide the protection.
You removed the plastic protection on the skid plate, what for? It was there to slide over rocks.
It didn't make sense to me because I don't do that kind of riding. If I hit the bottom of the bike I just want the peace of mind of having the engine somehow protected.
Aqueles "clips" que prendem o plástico preto à carenagem lateral, qual é o procedimento certo para retirar?
Boas. Penso que está a perguntar sobre os clips pequenos. O clip tem um pequeno botão mesmo no centro que tem de ser pressionado para dentro até fazer click e fica solto. Depois é só retirar. Eu usei uma chave sextavada pequena para empurrar esse botão. Para recolocar, tem que se puxar esse botão para fora, colocar o clip no local dele, e depois empurrar o botão até fazer click.
No minuto 4:00 dá para ver um com algum pormenor do lado esquerdo. A mota tem vários destes. Uns mais compridos outros mais curtos mas todos funcionam da mesma forma.
Existe alguma marca de faróis que tenha essa possibilidade de ligação ao painel num valor mais baixo?
Da pesquisa que fiz só as Denali é que têm 2 intensidades e uma variedade de cabos/acessórios para montagem. São de facto caras. Eu comprei numa super promoção da Motocard, mesmo assim acima do valor da concorrência. A possibilidade de integrar as luzes auxiliares nos comandos da mota existe sempre, desde que se façam as ligações certas. Os mecânicos da Honda fazem-no com quaisquer faróis. A OSRAM tem faróis porreiros, bem mais em conta mas, não têm o "harnês" para ligar à bateria, nem outros acessórios.Terias que comprar à parte, existem no mercado online. Ou ligar diretamente nos conectores da mota como mostro no video, mas não sei a amperagem é suportada. Se optares por faróis de 1 única intensidade, a integração nos comandos da mota permite 1 de 2 coisas: ligar os faróis no dashboard e não sincronizar com os máximos; ou ficar sempre sincronizado com os máximos, com a possibilidade de ligar e desligar no dashboard. Enfim... muita coisa é possível. Abraço
@@b.toscano4148 obrigado pela resposta.por acaso vi os da OSRAM e são os que mais gosto até.terei que ver essas ligações apesar de não ter muito jeito para partes elétricas.se calhar opto pelas diretas a bateria com opção de desligar ligar normal.

Hi. No vibration at all. Can't feel any difference before and after the bars and plate.

No. They're CROSSPRO. Design is very similar to SW-Motech. Both plate and bars made of aluminium. I don't ride crazy off road. Have never hit the bottom hard, but think the plate is solid enough to protect the bike from harder impacts. I did fall off at low speed and bars did their job, only scratched, didn't bend. So far so good.

Hi Thodoris. I'm very happy with the bike, and with the CROSSPRO set too. Have just under 5000Km on the clock, no issues. No negatives to me. Easy and fun to Ride. The 92HP are plenty and the quick shifter is a must have. The only annoying thing is the location of the air filter under the fuel tank. I like to do my own stuff, and apparently to get there is a pain in the bum cheeks. I'm installing a set of Denali fog lights soon and I might need to remove/swivel the tank to tidy the cables properly. I might film it and upload here. Cheers

@@b.toscano4148 I watched 2 videos that show the tabs to cut off the first time you take everything apart and then you don’t have to remove the dash and can swing the tank up to get to the air box but I haven’t tried it yet.
