Return to Slide Street: Unboxing a Toyota GR Corolla by Hot Wheels Premium

I’ve come to notice that Hot Wheels Premium models are harder and harder to find on the pegs these days, which is kind of a shame because some of these new models are pretty impressive, like this Toyota GR Corolla. Unfortunately, when it's a car that's in demand like this one, the specialty sellers tend to sell them at a bit of a premium.

I like the hot wheels GR Corolla better than the Tomica cuz of the wheels also there’s less boxiness compared to the Tomica ver

2:32 is why I feel that Tomica needs to do better on their common series castings. I love it when Tomica nails their mainlines but they are also known for pulling off half-baked efforts. Their GR Corolla is no exception. The same wheels recycled for most models, no side mirrors, no details on the headlights or taillights, not even an openable trunk lid. I'm not even demanding a metal base, but I can forgive lack of suspension if the details are acceptable. Surely Tomica can do better if companies like, say, Majorette can.

I agree; the Tomica GR Corolla feels like a model that could have been done better in a number of areas.
