There’s some good cartoons / anime’s who have emotional moments like this. There’s some DC things like that, and Tokyo Ghoul is nice.
Lots I can list but some are kind of, more realistic in the sense people don’t get much plot armour. So lots of sad moments there that you don’t expect.
Attack on Titans like that. It’s a good show but quite depressing, so it’s something you have to be in the mood for or not watch too much of in one sitting if you are like me.
To give context on that last part for those curious, I immerse myself quite a lot in things, so am sometimes influenced by things I care for emotionally.

Except I am one of those weirdos who listens to the three hour version--as least a part of it. I'm not sure I could sustain 10 hours. I think I'd really lose my will to live. It's OK to wallow--and share with like minded folks--for a few hours, but 10 Hours is just...sad.

Err, no. It's that Rick feels empty, so he does all this crazy shit for fulfillment. But it's hollow. That's the point. The show constantly reminds us that Rick's not in a healthy place, despite how smart he is. Morty balances him out, but Rick also corrupts him as a result of being around him (you can see the change in Morty). The question is why... what happened to Rick? We don't know. 90 more seasons... 90 more seasons dot com.... 99 more seasons till we get the sauce.

The track is about someone who is isolated from others by the distrust they hold for everyone around them but simultaneously torn by the duality of the need for connections with others. The conflict results in trying to abandon all others with the individual immediately nearest the protagonist. It could be another person but it could also be a metaphorical person that is actually the protagonist’s image of herself/himself. Torn between the distrust of what he or she existentially wants they can nearly be destroyed by the desire to find ones’s sense of purpose and value and instead run away to pursue personal pleasure and distraction. If its another person then he/she just wants to run away with this person and pretend that it will be okay and that their love/tryst will be enough if the other stays. It seems the protagonist doesn’t have faith in the good times lasting long, as if no one can stay with him/her forever.

I have done so SO much soul searching with this in the background...
If you watch this scene carefully you'll notice rick isn't drooling like normal because he is totally sober and now everything in his mind and heart that hurts now have to be felt by him without aid of alcohol to numb the pain. Also he says "if anyone needs me ill be in garage" and it hurts to see no one checked on him at all so he stays for days in there drowing in depression.
Every once in a while we all go to the "garage" some don't make it out some do. But to anyone who is stuck in there now I just wanna say " don't give up ever! Your strong enough to make it out alive and have people who care about you and you have alot of life to live and love to give the only reason you won't make it out is if you give up". Hey everyone, please hear me out. Life can be a fucking bitch sometimes. Emphasis on the abstract, limitless use of "fucking" and the straightforward, concrete negativity and hatred of a "bitch" used in this context. But please remember that you're not alone, no matter how much your ego tells you otherwise. You wake up in this fucked up world every day for a reason! You have to believe me. I am not religious in any way, but I have come to learn there is a purpose for us. Definitely not by a man in the sky and maybe not for us as individuals, but there is a purpose for humanity! We may be ants to those unnameable forces far greater than ourselves, but there is a purpose for our minds itself simply because WE know of something greater and have yet to see anything in the universe remotely comparable to our consciousness, no matter what science and shows like Rick and Morty attempt to lead us to believe.
WE are here and YOU are unique. You know what that means? Not that it's hopeless and you have no purpose. But simply because you have seen/experienced infinity at some point in your life, you know that could it could be so much better and unimaginably (in our current levels of thinking) more beautiful. Considering all that, you have a duty to shape the reality of your dreams. Not because you want to get into heaven or because its the "right" thing to do. But because you were given the gift of life. The gift of love and the gift of anguish. Life was meant to hurt because it's what makes it worth living.
We often get caught up in the idea that we are one of nearly 8 billion people on this planet, and there may be far more life forms throughout space. But we have yet to see other life forms so just don't think about it until it happens. And 8 billion infinitesimally specks on this 1 relatively larger speck of dust that exists within the trillions of light years (and growing) that make up the universe is not much. More of us are far more special than we think. This is some cold hard truth right now so stop being such a "fucking bitch"! You're better than that and you know it!
I should mention, I got closer to doing the unforgivable deed a couple days ago than I ever have before and it frightens me for the future. I think, if I felt such despair and forlorness then, imagine what I will feel in the future. But I wasn't factoring in the fact that I will be stronger then into the equation. Life's always going to be ups and downs, but as Nietzsche said, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!" Live by those words and know that you can be satisfied with life simply because you are still here and know what you know, and have seen something far greater and imaginably more beautiful. Remember it.

Every time I hear this song, I cry because it reminds me of this ep. I related too hard with Rick. Very smart, troubled past, trouble with relationships, family and love. A bit of drink habit and smoking. All to drown out the pain. Minus the tech and alien stuff. lol. Oh, how this make my heart hurt so much...
I relate with Rick too.... Minus the super inteligence, family, relationships, adventure, tech and alien stuff... Mostly just the habitual drinking/drug abuse, feeling alone and being unable to commit suicide when I decided to do it.
It's crazy to think that this video was made 2 years ago and i still listen to this it reminds me of how this decade has been and how it's about to end

I never understood why people would upload 3 hours of a song, but this one I've listened to the end many times. It hits hard. It expresses all the emotions, I don't seem to be able to. Although it makes me sad, that the first verse doesn't repeat.
