If only every dancer had the same perspective on dancing/culture as Laurent does... This man breaths genuineness/humbleness even after all the fame he's experienced. Up on top of the list of famous people I admire besides Dwayne Johnson.
Laurent is so intelligent and educated on hip hop and his perspective on it and his willingness to learn more and grow is so touching. He inspires me so much and really is the most touching and motivating dance teacher there ever was.
***** Yes he did...though he partially got it right. I'm from a different generation so him saying Dre is the king of hiphop always makes my teeth ache. Dr Dre is the king of WEST COAST/90s Hip Hop. I need him to speak with KRS1, Grand Master Flash, Russel Simmons, Will Smith and the remaining living members of the Funky Four Plus One to get the foundation. That and the stuff about Jazz not being "American". Yes it is. Jazz, Gospel, Blues, Rock and Roll and Hip Hop are music art forms created by the descendants of the Diaspora. They are very much American but specifically BLACK AMERICAN. Just like Samba is AFRO BRAZILIAN,. But I digress. Love that he loves and respects the history. May he continue to be blessed.
MsJuya Street Afrika Bambatta (sp?), Public Enemy, I would add but I am happy you gave me a refresher course. We could include so many more names but I love your list.
I love how he explains his Egyptian dance inspiration by physically "injecting" their culture straight into his veins. Now he has a new "birth mark". Clever boy. Ironic that I wrote a piece about him 3 days ago, that only my twin sister had read, where I describe his effect on me in the same fashion; "...when he dances, he 'bleeds' a fiery hot blood that courses into my veins and drives me onward..."
By the way, Anyone interested in reading the rest of that piece that I talked about, it is now posted Here - Part1: facebook.com/wolfladylovesartshop/photos/a.293134137533650.1073741829.292013294312401/429078897272506/?type=1 And Here-Part2: facebook.com/wolfladylovesartshop/photos/a.293134137533650.1073741829.292013294312401/429079080605821/?type=1 Feel free to browse all of my Art on this page! facebook.com/wolfladylovesartshop/photos_stream?tab=photos_albums
I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Laurent mentioned the origin of rock and roll and jazz being from Africa/ from black people. Thats fact that many people choose to deny.
Mia Carter It's just lack of knowlege, not denial..I happen to be really into music (& study it), most people just enjoy music without much deep thought. Like, what do we know about the history of Japanese or Indian or even Hawaiian music, etc. :)
Laurent is so awesome. I love that he's so lively and passionate about whatever he's talking about. Les Twins are so humble, sweet, and down to earth that sometimes I think they don't get enough recognition for that. I'm so proud of my loves.
Listening to him and Larry talk about their experiences, makes me feel like I'm wasting my life. They really do so much and see so much more than we do. I am proud to be their fan and "family". Les twins are smart, creative, humble, kind and so so talented. Hope they shine for years to come. ☺️
Hey don’t say that! You are you, keep focusing on doing good things around your community. We all have different journeys! There are opportunities all around to serve others, grow in our talents and find joy! We can all be better, so use this as inspiration not intimidation 🙌🏼
His passion is the most beautiful thing and he is the most beautiful person I've come across. My love for Les Twins and especially Laurent just seems to keep growing and growing. Loved this interview.
It's hard to find the words to express just how insightful and brilliant Laurent is. He is a truly brilliant and intelligent man. Being humble and able to learn from other genius people he will no doubt continue to go on and on. The stars is the limit. I really love he and Larry. But just to listen to Laurent, you can't help but see and hear how special he is. Les Twins 4/ever!!!!!
WHEN Larry did his interview I cried...and Now that Laurent finished it....Guess what??? I cried again When you Love what you do to the Point that it affects You The way they were touched by those kids in Egypt Speaks about who they are...and Their worldview...Although they are famous..They are still Dem boys from da hood.... I Love #leswtins
The fact that he brought up Africa and how all music comes from the motherland, just when you think Laurent couldn't be more enlightening/awesome .. I love this dude
They can truly change the world in so many ways. Larry and Laurent are truly amazingly blessed people. They are amazing people. That's why I love them, It's never just about their dancing....it's so much more to love and appreciate about them both. They can really chance the world.
Oh my goodness! I can't tell you how wonderful this is!! His story is so beautiful, his voice is equally as beautiful. Been awaiting a new interview for so long! Thank you sxsd! Love you Laurent!!
Thanks for your email and the money is in the office on the house and send it to the your email address and phone number and email address is not going to be in the area tomorrow morning and will get back to you with the
This is exactly why Les Twins are my inspiration. Laurent in so inspiring. I would do anything to meet them. I want to so bad. But it's going to take me a while to save up. They're my actual inspiration to dance.
Wow. These men are hardworking and deserve all the good fortune they get. I was so impressed throughout this interview. It's nice to watch them play around and joke with each other but I love moments like this when they pull back and you can see what they truly are. Beautifully gifted geniuses. Stay Blessed Les Twins
I truly love this interview. Laurent said some precious words. I love how open they are to different cultures and the message that no matter how famous you are you can Always learn from other people. In a world where differences seem to lead only to hate and conflicts it's good to see that differences can actually make us grow and spread love. This also made me think that it doesn't matter where are you from, which Language you speak or how much money you have when you can communicate with the power of dance.
I love listening to him talk .. Just his passion about dance and music or even just learning new things about places and people is truly inspiring! Can't wait to hear more from Les Twins ❤️
Larry talked about meeting the little Egyptian boy in another interview except he talked about him being the one showing the little boy about high fives. Either way, it sounds like it was a beautiful experiences for both of the twins.
Yes, thanks to them wanting to still learn & absorb new things from other dancers from all over the world and teach us about them makes hip-hop dance grow and evolve every day. They really are creators of urban movement. Thanks for sharing this inspiring video with us Step X Step OfficialLesTwins
This interview was so beautiful already with Lau sharing his love of seeing/meeting new people & learning new cultures but what made it even MORE beautiful was the fact that Larry shared almost the exact same story during his interview And something so innocent & pure as a child learning how to high-five had such an impact on both of them so deeply. Thank you +Step X Step for this!

Watching Laurent & Larry is like watching a natural force of nature...fire, water, earth and sky...they are limitless and fluid....speaking through the elements they infuse in their art.
Thank You Laurent, and thank you step by step for posting this. I have been waiting for one of the twins to acknowledge the connected rhythm that exist between people of color throughout the African diaspora. it took a while but through their travels they see it. just like I saw a connection between the dances they were doing when they first started dancing and how it was very similar to what we were doing here in the United States. I assume they're older siblings may have had some exposure and passed it down to the twins.
Just an amazing interview! As I watched I was at the edge of my seat, it was so full of earnest energy! I felt it I saw it in Laurent's response. Thank you for sharing and I sincerely hope these guys career stay on track with these kind of revelations and acknowledge of all cultures. Looking forward to meeting these guys real soon as they have been an inspiration in my personal life as well.
What to say ♥ - OfficialLesTwins #lestwins are honourable, honest brothers - the same thought, #Laurent also shares a story in Egypt which truly surprised and inspired him, like his brother #Larry ♥♥ - How i love them ♥ very well behaved ♥
Does anyone here wish Les Twins & Michael Jackson could have had a deep conversation about the different cultures in the world..and how they were affected by them? MJ would have had a LOT to tell them, especially about what to expect when your fame starts to get bigger than you.
The music transforms your body. It takes control of your soul and releases something that nothing else can. I KNOW. IT'S YOUR SPIRIT. It's intimate, it's personal, you reveal yourself and even take yourself further than you imagine you can. I can't live without it! God give everyone a gift. It's our choice to accept it. He himself is actually the greatest gift of all. GRACE

Laurent is so captivating to listen too, the passion is crazy!
Laurent is so intelligent and educated on hip hop and his perspective on it and his willingness to learn more and grow is so touching. He inspires me so much and really is the most touching and motivating dance teacher there ever was.
Raymond Hill totally agree with you.
he lowkey dropped a history lesson in the beginning. i love how intelligent and in tune with ppl he is..that's something that is truly rare these days
