- Erkunt Traktör Sanayii A.Ş. was founded on September 12, 2003, in the Ankara Sincan Organized Industrial Zone, by Zeynep Erkunt Armağan, the world's first and only female tractor manufacturer, who is the daughter of an industrialist father, an economics graduate, and also an amateur sailor, in Ankara Sincan Organized Industrial Zone.
In fact, the company did not produce tractors in the first place. The Erkunt company, founded by Mümin Erkunt, one of the most talented engineers of Turkey, who carried out successful projects in Germany and Switzerland, started its operations as a general foundry and molding house in Turkey in 1953, and in 1955, in addition to casting, The company, which also became a parts processing factory, started investing in the processing of casting parts in 1959 and produced waste water pipes in accordance with NATO standards and became a joint stock company in 1961 after 8 years of growth.
After the serious financial crisis that occurred in Turkey in 1994, more specialization in production was pursued in line with the targets set. And in 1996, the second casting factory was opened in Ankara Sincan Organized Industrial Zone. The current Turkish tractor industry is a huge arena, and since agriculture is a major source of national income, it is not surprising that more than 30 different tractor brands compete with each other to protect their rights. The success of the company, which entered such a challenging and rapidly growing market with only two models, is mainly based on solving one of the main problems of Turkish farmers, high fuel consumption, and thus begins a new era for all Turkish farmers by reducing their top-of-the-line costs.
Wanting to carry its domestic success to the international level, the company launches its export brand ArmaTrac and makes its first export to Bulgaria, thus continuing its rapid growth abroad with its dealers in 17 countries. Due to the economic crisis that occurred in 2008, the company sees 2009 as a lost year. This year is also the year when the Q1 Quality Management System, developed by the Ford company and which enables other companies to maintain their existing business relations with the Ford company and take part in new projects, began to be implemented. All plans are made for 2010.
Erkunt Traktör, who works for SISU company, which also operates in the maritime sector, was added to the list of Lloyd's Register approved manufacturers in 2008, upon the special request of the company, by having its compliance with the rules and regulations in production checked.
In 2012, Turkey's first 110 horsepower domestically designed tractor was produced. Production uses key components from a number of suppliers, including Perkins engines, Deutz engines, Carraro transmissions and ZF transmissions produced under license by Erkunt. Tractors are produced to order. Erkunt Traktör also broke new ground in Turkey with its limited edition exterior design with chrome accents, luxury cabin, leather interior trim, nubuck ceiling tile, multimedia screen, smart trip computer, front and rear camera and black glass with UV filter. It also offers the Haşmet 110 Limited Edition tractor to its users.
Erkunt tractor, Turkey's fuel-saving notarized local tractor, becomes one of the strong brands in the market by offering many different models between 58 and 125 hp with its tractor series named Kısmet, Bereket, Nimet, Servet, Kıymet, Kudret and Haşmet.
