I have to say man, you designed a beautiful cabinet! Seeing the ease of rotating the monitor around like you did in this video makes it so much more appealing! 🤩
A little tip for the bezzle, use a suction cup for it so you don't have to push it out from behind anymore And thanks again for all your videos about this cab. After watching the videos, I decided against this cab and would probably prefer an original Vewlix.
@@davysmith8569 Please don't get me wrong here. I don't think the Nova is bad at all, I really like it. But I think the price for it, especially in Europe, is too high for what is on offer. If I could get it here for €1000, which is equivalent to $1072.83, I would buy it. As it is, I have to pay almost the same for the Nova as for a real Vewlix, but the workmanship quality of the Nova is far from that of a Vewlix. Unico doesn't seem to be interested in offering the Novablast in the EU either. Importing it myself would then cost me even more, I would then have to pay around $1664.01 for it here. And no, unfortunately what is offered is not enough for me.
Good video. Please do let us know the best type of cloth to use. I hate dust on my screens. Also please let Unico know there is interest in an OLED version of the 26 inch screen. I bet lots of hobbyists would happily pay the premium for a 26 inch 4:3 OLED, and not only Nova Blast users.
@@jaymason9888 I'd pay for it. I also think such a display would appeal to a lot of retrogaming hobbyists in general, especially older guys like me who can afford things we really want. Anyway, thanks for reading my suggestion and keep up the good work.
I’m excited for the final product as it is based on feedback that I shared. I am pleased with my prototype and there’s nothing that compares to the feeling of playing on a cabinet. I’ve hooked up various devices with ease even a neogeo MVS but I always circle back to the MiSTer for the convenience and variety in arcade games. I wish the monitor had an automated mechanism to perform the rotation but simply because I’m lazy, not because it’s difficult to do. Perhaps a subwoofer or some added bass to the speakers would be nice. I think I’d also prefer a single player panel.
I wish there was an easier/simpler way to rotate the screen, like the Egret II Mini or something like that... but well, if no one has done it with full size arcades, I guess it's not possible.
I think it looks great. It’s not an OLED, I have one as my TV. Making the monitor an oled would have shot the price up dramatically so I’m ok with that.
@@neocvera I'm hoping for an OLED option in the future. Anyone planning to use the cab on actual location or running 24/7 the LCD makes more sense since OLED can more easily burn-in. But for us home hobbyists OLED would be amazing. I would be happy to pay the premium for that upgrade option.
I want this cab so bad, but I'm pretty sure that I wont be changing from hori to tate very often because I play so many shumps and switch back and forth between the types. I would have to have a "tate day" and only play tate games, and no fighters or anything else that day. Its not a lot of work, but when you want to play a game, you want that shit to just 'work'.
Yeah it probably would be just playing vertical games while I’m Horizontal mode most of the time which isn’t bad but doing it right is awesome and huge!
I am so hyped for this cabinet. Thank you again for creating this thing and helping take these games into the modern age.
Delayed again are you hyped for that?

Thanks man! It was definitely a team effort. I’m proud of everyone involved for getting this into reality.
What a beauty. I'm salivating over the possibilities with this unit...hope it delivers on all fronts!

im on the fence.. what made you swing to team vewlix?
@@huehuetrain More robust construction, used and not much more expensive to get here in the EU as the Nova
i have a vewlix L but i want this thing for the smaller footprint

Any chance to get the hands on these beauty here in Europe?
July is almost here cant wait
great cab and size cant wait!
Ro to the Tate! Glad to see the home arcade world is getting acab for the shoot em up guys and gals
I hope people buy enough of these so we can get a Viewlix style cab in the near future

A microfiber cloth is the way to go for a good clean on any delicate surface.
Love to do OLED or Mini LED version but the price would be considerably much higher.

Could you make a video of Pinball FX running on the vertically oriented display?
Great Video !
Looks good. Any ballpark on when these will start to ship out?
Thanks for the video!
As long as you own this gem .. what is your experience long term with this cabinet ? I would appreciate any feedback specially from you and thanks !

That’s never a good thing but I’m confident that production is under way.
you just need 2 machines..1 vertical , 1 horizontal :-)...

It’s been done for CRTs over 30 years ago! We didn’t do it because it woild have added considerable cost.
What board are you playing in the cab in tate mode? Is it a pi, pc, or jamma board?
It’s a MiSTer (Digital IO)
Bravo !
How quality is the monitor?

Hi ! very nice cabinet. how many hardwares it could be connected for emulation ? MVS ? Mister ? Pandora ? PC ?
Devices I’ve personally connected:
MVS-1C (jamma)
MiSTer
Analogue Pocket
Steamdeck
Xbox 360 (+wingman adapter)
Dreamcast (VGA+wingman adapter)
PS3
PS4
Switch
Mac
RG35XX,Plus,SP

@GUILLERMO01ful Xbox 360 and Dreamcast require an additional adapter but everything else worked.

@@neocverahow does that work then? Does the control panel have a usb lead coming from it?
plexi glass bezel with that price? come on, this should have been a tempered glass one
Never considered that. I’d be a bit more paranoid if it were glass though.
@@neocvera Tempered glass is more durable and more fingerprint/dust resistant , but ok one can easily replace it if he wants

After trying the Egret 2 Mini method, this seems really annoying and faff-style.
Agreed but make rotation easier would 1 drive up the costs and 2 take away space from putting an arcade PCB or PC in the Bartop.
This is no egret 2, but it beats the heck out of rotating a crt in something like a New Astro City. Now THAT is a huge PITA.
