A good friend and I were watching this "documentary" on Tubi this past week about the "shooting". None of it makes sense. The rooftop where the kid was posted with the rifle was SOOOO close to the platform where DT was that there's NO WAY IN HELL that his secret service team would not have secured that area before the rally. The immigration sign that was strategically placed in the line of sight where he pointed just before he was shot at, the length of time the kid remained on the roof while rally attendees were sighting him and yelling."he's on the roof" and he didn't come down immediately?? It's Project 2025 but you have a great point to get there early because they almost surely will try to stop us from voting. Note that the house has passed a bill that you have to prove citizenship to vote. They might spring that on this election. I don't have any objection to having to prove eligibility. I witnessed a workplace domestic murder/suicide. A handgun shooting turned the victim into nothing more than a partial torso with some of her arms and her legs. There was blood , flesh and bones splattered in a huge diameter.
The shooter shot himself once in his temple and there was nothing left from upper chest up.
Also being raised on military bases they’re crawling with MP’s, you can’t even imagine what your base looks like when a president (or any high ranking government official) is in your state that’s not even close to your base. They are prepped and ready to go.
The Secret Service would NEVER have allowed a prez or anyone they’re protecting to be shot, jump up, raise an arm, pumping a fist with his head completely exposed so he could scream “fight, fight.”

7.62 is what you load into an AK-47, 5.56 into the AR. But, you’re correct, either bullet is tearing you up.
7.62.x51mm(308) is a NATO standard. AR-10. M14. FN FAL. HK G3. M110. SCAR H. Etc. 7.62 is just another way of saying 30 caliber.
You can use either in an AR 15 but the 7.62 has lower velocity than the 5.56 and the 5.56 since it has a higher velocity gives it greater distance. Either will mess you up.
7.62 bullet is also used in the M-14 rifle, predecessor to the M-16/AR-15.

Honest question. What would a near miss do? Let's say from 1/4" to 1" away? I can see how it could do some damage but I'm not a gun guy or rocket scientist :) It could have happened.
