Thankyou! I was so relived as expected some very subdued results with nor doing tests before. Risky but I was soooo lucky. So unlike me not testing though lol
Great to see another kiln opening Jeanette, what a fab little bunch of gnomes, such great colours! Love how they have individual personalities 😊 haven't tried earthenware yet, I'm worried I would get mixed up and fire it on cone 6 for a big puddle kiln opening😂
Wow. How amazing! They look wonderful!! Can’t use the cones again since they have already been fired. I absolutely LOVE how stable stroke n coats are on low fire!! I would love to see how you made these! Never seen anything like this before! The grapel is pronounced like grape with el at the end. lol. Oh Jeanette the girl gnome is sooo adorable!! I think it would be really cool if you left some of the clay bare. Maybe for the nose or even the hat but with some dots! Love these. I’m soooo happy to see you back at it. You could make one for each family member that resembles each of them! Lol so many ideas. I have Terra cotta clay as well that I’ve only made test tiles for. Soo glad to see the stroke n coats work so well on them!!
Hi Michele, or loads of ideas and help there thankyou! Cones promptly gone in bin, rookie error lol. Lovely idea leaving something raw clay. Never considered that. The matt clay would be a nice contrast. One of each family?....oh eck that could be challenging lol. So simple to make, maybe next time I make I can do a mini You Tube. Love each little personality! X
I used to do some work with May or 20+ years ago and the stroke and coat series was made to be very stable by themselves or under a glaze. They usually only fluctuate over a flowing glaze especially at the lower temperatures of earthen ware. Also I have reused witness cones contrary to common recommendations with good results but you would have to test it for yourself to be safe. Good results on those gnomes. I can tell that you do love them too.
I think I'm just anxious about opening the kiln one day and everything is stuck to the shelf! Especially when I glaze right down to the bottom of a piece lol. I may put the cones in a other firing as opposed to throwing them in the bin, worth a try :) Was it that obvious that I loved my little gnomes 😆 🤣🤣

That's so kind of you Thankyou. I was very pleased ( as you could tell lol) how they turned out. So cute!!
What a great showing!! Lucky you with no test tiles.

Lol I always worry that too Julia lol. I'll be glad when it's all used up but been good to play with it on these types on projects.
Adorable!
Thankyou x
Such fun and soo cute ♥️
Thanks, I adore them! Lol
Awesome I found cashew stroke and coat great for noses and dry brush for the blushing effect with pinks or reds
Oh not heard of Cashew! I'll check that out thankyou. Great tip with the dry brush too! Thankyou!

@@FarForestCeramics Aaw glad I was helpful. I think it’s so fun watching you explore.
Love the gnomes " J"
Thanks Val, 😊
I also love the speckled S&C
It creates some great alternatives to a plain glaze doesn't it.
Really cute gnomes! And good colors, too 😊
Thankyou, I was super shocked at how vibrant they came out! Such cuties! ❤
Very nice Jeanette.......the makin me blush works great on noses as does bare clay.
Oh no got that one, thankyou. Leaving it raw is a nice idea too. Thankyou!
