I agree that It is a PIA to take down hanging plants to water them, so you don’t get water everywhere (in place) but they are invaluable for blocking windows where you don’t want to totally block them with a curtain or shade. I don’t want my neighbours to see me in my living room and the plants in the window offer a pleasant “screen” to that problem. Love your videos! This one was fun!

I personally am not a moss pole fan. I just don't care for how they look in my home 🪴

I requested a water meter for Christmas and I love it. I find it so helpful on my plants in ceramic and terracotta. I also would never use orchid spray, and I have over 30, mostly phals. If you spray them you should be sure not to let the liquid drip into the center as it could leave to rot. I loved this video so much❤. Thanks so much.

I think Hoyas benefit from a foliar spray, but the orchid sprays are a serious waste of $$--it's way cheaper to just dilute your regular fertilizer. Love the ingredients in Liquidirt, but if you use it at the dilution they recommend, it's really weak. You could probably go 2x the strength in winter, and 4x in spring/summer. As a plant food, it also relies on a healthy biome in the soil to help the plant take up the nutrients, so it's really important to not let soil dry out too much so that the biome dies off. Gardening in Canada is a soil scientist and has some interesting info on her channel.

The southern windows... I'm in the UK and these are the majority of the windows in our house...it's not optional...I have all my plants in the window and have never had any major issues. I actually just have a net curtain and this seems to keep them shaded well enough.
Plant charms...WTF your plant isn't a Christmas tree...like why, just why.
I buy a soil mix from Soil Ninja which seems to be great for my plant...the effort to do it myself.

I agree. In tye UK too and we gotta work with the windows we have. If I could move house for the optimal plant conditions that would be great but I can't. 😆

When in doubt I always use my moisture metre! I recall several instances where I thought my plant was ready for a drink but the moisture metre said that it was still on the moist side. Especially useful on my sansevieria and on my monstera deliciosa.

ive been using liquidirt consistently for around a year and some of my plants were looking too light green and under nourished so I’ve switched it out for liquid gold leaf. Hope that works better I’ve heard good things 🤞🏼 I hate moisture meters and loveee hanging plants haha

I have 24 hanging plants in my large indoor collection but I totally agree with you… it is “work” dealing with them. Great video. Thanks!!

I know this may sound crazy. Is root rot caused by over watering your plant, just once, or by continuing over watering?? I swear by my moisture meter.

over watering your plant is more about the time between watering than it is about the amount of water going in your pot. so i would say a handful of instances in a row of watering your plant too early could give you root rot! not a crazy question at all :)
