I’m even more disappointed because the original Anne books deal with SO MUCH heavy stuff that would have transitioned wonderfully into the series, such as Ruby dying of tuberculosis two weeks before her wedding, and Anne and Gilbert's first child being stillborn. But the character I would have loved to see on screen is Leslie, Anne and Gilbert's next door neighbor after they got married and moved to Four Winds. Her brother died, she found her dad dead by suicide two years later, she's guilted into marrying the son of the man who owned the farm she and her mother lived on for mortgage purposes, she lived through an abusive marriage with said husband, her mom dies, she finally finds peace when her husband dies, and then she remarries and has two children with someone who's her perfect match.
Diana like scolding Gilbert is one of my favorite scenes ever😂 “What letter, Diana what letter?!” You guys should really watch the 1985 Anne of Green Gables movies with Megan Follows and Jonathan Crombie as Anne and Gilbert
The Ka'kwet storyline made me feel awful, and I guess that's the point. They want people to see this and feel awful and realize this is not right! As much as I would love a happy ending for Ka'kwet, sadly, her ending was the realistic one. Ka'kwet's last image locked in there while her parents are in view was very haunting. I just hope that people who has been reached by her story has been reminded of the cruel history so it won't be repeated.
I'm so so happy they didn't go by the books, Matthew was supposed to die of a heart attack when the ship went down with his crops, instead he gets to watch his girl grow up like he always deserved ❤
I have been waiting for someone, anyone, to react to this incredible show and when I found out that you guys finally are going to watch it, I was over the moon! I am so grateful for you, Zuff, Rob, and Bryce for sticking with the show and I know you all appreciate the messages, lessons that it partakes to all of us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
7:03 - the exact moment Bryce was possessed by Zuff 😭 And as many others have already mentioned, still devastated this show got cancelled before Ka’kwet's story was resolved 😢
How I felt when I first finished watching the season finale. 'Anne and Gilbert finally got together! They are so stinking cute! Yay, Anne learned a little more about her parents. Diana got to go to College! Bash and Elijah made peace. Mathew didn't die! I'm sad the show is ending, but this was a pretty nice way to wrap up the series, and overall a very good adaptation of the book series even if it took a lot of creative liberties. I am satisfied.' Get on with my day, have something to eat, watch something else. Go to bed. Get up in a frenzy at 2:47 am. 'What about Ka'Kwet!' 😭
✨ *This was my comfort show when I was going through my struggles in college. AWAE makes me calm and appreciate life more. It's just frustrating how it got cancelled mainly becaus of the conflict between the network and netflix and not even because it's unpopular or underwhelming story-wise. It has a huge fan base as much as popularity. Imagine the possibilities with the unmet storyline's like ka'kwet's, Bash and Ms. Stacy's relationship, Anne and Gilbert's life as a couple, Cole's more exposure as a gay man in that period of time etc.* 💕🍁 *Though I read Ruby and Matthew died in the books, I'm not ready for those if ever. But still there's more to the stories to unfold. So frustrating for it to be cancelled. aaaahhhhhhh*
Thank you for watching this show, rewatching it with you made my past months so much more fun and exciting, I had something to look forward to every morning. I am glad you enjoyed it and yea, thanks again! ♥
You can’t take “cookie brownie points😂” from Gilbert for being honest about how he feels and not making what could be the biggest mistake of his life and he knows it. This is exactly how it should be in life. Don’t drag people along for years thru a marriage if you don’t KNOW for SURE that this is the one person you truly love & wanna spend your life with. 9 million cookie brownie points to good ole Gilbert! 😂
Despite the abrupt ending, the finale did a lot for our main characters. As for ka’kwet, I hate that her story did not get a happy ending, but it’s a realistic portrayal of history in that sense. Many ka’kwets from real life did not get a happy or just ending.
I love the books though. Ypu get to see anne and gilbert's married life, their babies. Anne has a miscarriage that nearly kills her. But then she has more babies. And then we follow her kids. And we cry when her sons are sendt off to fight in the war. And we get to see Rilla, their youngest daughter find her love as a young woman as well after the war
I HATE the fact this show was cancelled. it had no business being cancelled. fans were furious and so many petitions were made and even some celebs joined in who liked the show ( including Ryan Reynolds from what I've heard ) and still nothing. I feel like the whole thing about Ka'Kwet was going to be one of the set-ups for season 4 storyline that was going to continue and conclude but sadly, we never got a season 4. anyways, I'm so glad you guys really enjoyed the show and were just as disappointed there weren't going to be any more after this. I'm at least glad they wrapped up Bash's story to a satisfying end ( despite Mary being gone ) and the whole set up with Anne and Gilbert FINALLY admitting their feelings face-to-face and kiss ( which was going to continue to grow ) and that Anne finally got something that belonged to her parents, even to the point of sort of knowing her mother's appearance for the first time through a colored drawing- which led to her finding out where she got her red hair from. plus Anne, Diana, and the girls all going to the sae college is sweet and Gilbert getting into his doctor schooling is awesome too.
I just love all of you! Your reactions are sweet, understanding, emotional, and real! I'm going to miss you all reacting to this show! Thank you for giving this show a chance for all of us Anne of Green Gables fans!
Thanks for doing this show. I really wish more people had watched it when it was on so they hadn’t canceled it. It was really a beautiful show in a lot of ways.
If you want to know what happens after the series ends, there was a series of films made in the 80s based off of the Anne of Green Gables books! They go years and years into the future beyond what Anne With An E was able to cover in the three seasons.
the only, ONLY, good thing about this show being cancelled is that we never had to watch this anne watch matthew die. i couldn't have handled that. it's the hardest part of any anne of green gables adaptation, having to be there for anne while she loses him.
Would be cool if they just brought em all back grown and mature in a new version of Anne with an E but lol, imagine a season four after four years. Seems unlikely but a spin-off series doesn’t sound impossible, I’d be all for that tbh
Loved watching your reactions to this. At first I wasn't sure if I'd like it with three people, but I'm now a fan. I'll definitely be checking out your other videos. This turned out to be my favourite Anne with an E reaction videos.
I'm so glad you guys liked this show. It's so sad it was cancelled. I hope you watch another period piece drama! I suggest When Calls the Heart for another feel-good show about early Canadians, or Outlander for something with a more serious tone, taking place in eighteenth-century Scotland!
I agree that overall the ending of this was pretty good. I think they’re nuts for not continuing to a season 4. The college days would have been a great season and a good change from the last 3 seasons. As for the Ka’Kwet storyline, sadly a lot of those real life stories didn’t have a good ending all wrapped up in a bow, so they likely had plans to continue it thru the next season with a more defined ending. But overall I think it was a great ending to a great show. Loved seeing you guys react to this! Amazing!
I can say that when I first watched the finale after waiting for so long I was under wh by gil and Anne but I was also like 14 lolll. I watched it again not too long ago and fell in love with their love. Glad you guys watched!!!
I’m so glad you guys really liked the show! It’s definitely one of my favorites. This was a really wonderful finale. I will forever be bitter that they cancelled it. I believe it was supposed to have two more seasons, but but ended really well though. All of the Gilbert and Anne moments this episode made me so happy! They really fed us well. Fun fact, in the books Anne and Gilbert get married, and I believe have like seven children, lol.
Loved rewatching Anne with an E with your reactions! As a huge Anne of Green Gables fan (80s trilogy with Megan Follows), I would love to see your reaction to that. Unfortunately, the Sullivan company is very stingy as far as copyright goes. I recommend two other shows which also star Megan Follows, (aka the best Anne Shirley ever) - Reign (4 seasons) and Heartland (16 seasons and counting).
The older lady from the college is in The Umbrella Academy. I don't remember her name in the show, but she works at the donut shop. The one Hazel is in love with. 16:23
Honestly haven’t seen this literally since it ended but it’s hilarious seeing Winnie so upset like I don’t remember any of that tbh, I thought she took it maturely and she’s actually heartbroken oof
We all know that part of history so…we can kind of guess what will happen to K’kwet and her family.😢 As a fan of the Anne of Green Gables series from the 80’s I really recommend it to those who are interested. This show is beautiful but darker, the other one is pure charm. They did Gilbert dirty in this one. He’s pretty and all but is mostly a smoldering heart throb. In the 80’s series Gilbert is more lively and matches Annes energy and you get more invested in their story.
Anne: I have follow up questions Gilbert: So do l Me: So do we!! I still have hope of another season… I would love to know what Winifred said to Anne… Diana said everything we wanted to say to Gilbert… Thank you guys for your videos! ♥️
Another beautiful yet heartbreaking show to do would be Little Bird! It's a fairly recent show that came out about the 1960s scoop and how so many native/indigenous children were taken away from their families in the 1960s by the Canadian and American governments and put up for adoption. The show follows a young woman in her 20s in the 1980s who was a victim of those circumstances, trying to trace clues and find her family and her roots again. It has some very heartbreaking moments, but there's also so much beauty 💖✨ it's a part of North America's dark history (along with residential schools) that I'm glad are being spoken about more now.
fun piece of trivia, they actually cut the scene from this episode wherein we get to see diana putting the mind-control drug in her dad’s tea that final morning!
Honestly I think the reason that they didn’t really ‘wrap up’ Ka’kwets story is because it’s more realistic of what happened in history. In most residential schools. A lot of the kids were murdered or never got out. So I suppose they’re trying to show the sad reality that many indigenous children didn’t get the justice or happy ending that they deserved.
Y'all really should watch the original miniseries with Megan Follows. Much slower paced, and topics such as LGBTQ and the indigenous are not discussed at all. But they are still wonderful. Having said that, I loved this show and your reactions to it!! Especially the ending with Anne and Gilbert!
Forgot they didn’t finish ka’kwet’s storyline (not to mention the whole newspaper ordeal that we just forget about) but yea didn’t like how it seemed as if Matthew and Anne forgot about em, wouldn’t say they abandoned them but I know for sure Anne would’ve tried with the paper and ig they were going the realistic route bc there’s just not enough screentime for all these storylines. Makes sense why so many people petitioned for more seasons bc she obviously deserved a better ending even if it may seem unrealistic and part of me is annoyed bc she could’ve just stayed at the camp and they leave it at that but I mean at least her parents are there for her and I hope for the best. I agree with Bryce tho it was a pretty satisfying wrap up, just wouldn’t mind maybe three episodes more since S1 only had 7 lol haven’t seen this since it ended but this show is still so good, no wonder everyone loved it sm to petition. Touching on important topics in the late 1800s in almost a modern light, love to see it
Not addressing Ka'kwet was heartbreaking but at the same time it's realistic that she was never reunited with her parents, or at least likely wouldn't have been in a real life scenario. Residential Schools were a form of cultural genocide and were used as a way to try and and wipe indigenous cultures out of existence by taking children from their families to try and instill Christian values into them. Thousands of children were killed in them and many more were traumatized so hard it even continues to affect current generations. It's sad but realistic that we never saw her ending because it likely wouldn't have been a happy one.
There is an amazing adaptation of the books starring Meghan Follows that I grew up loving. This was a great version of the books, too. In fact, both adaptations are much better than the books!
Holy shit moody and Jerry had big glow ups I almost didn’t recognize moody and when the lightbulb was mentioned I cackled, he does not look the same during his nonintelligent days😂
Im so glad you guys enjoyed this show. It’s one of my absolute favorites. If you guys haven’t watched prison break or sons pf anarchy i would love you guys to watch it i think you’d be so invested!
@Reel-time reactors the Anne Of green gables reactions does not have to end with this series there is a Trilogy Of Anne Of Green Gables movies made by Kevin Sullivan the First one is Called Anne Of Green Gables 1985, the 2nd one Anne Of green Gables the sequel also called Anne of Avonlea whatever title you like you may call it that and the last one Anne Of Green Gables The Continuing Story 2000. UPDATE IN COMMUNITY TAB IF YOU GUYS WILL REACT.
Fully agree on the post analysis. Nearly every story wrapped up except for Ka'kwet's, which you can argue is more based in reality because these stories did not usually have happy endings. 7:03 Bryce trying to cough up a furball got me so bad 😂😂
I just added to the ending in my mind that Ka’kwet ended up going home and is living happily with her family. It’s such a sad thing to think about it actually happening to kids back then. I’m so happy that Anne and Gilbert are together now! They’re so so cute together. Love the videos! You all do amazing!
It’s been so fun rewatching the show with you guys I think the finale was good considering they did plan for a fourth season Also for a new show suggestion I’d recommend Yellowjackets or heartbreak high
Elijah crying by Mary's grave broke me but I'm so glad that bash forgave him as well as Gilbert. I do get what Zuff was saying how it didn't feel like a show but a book the first time i watched (binged the first season all night) and in the morning it felt like i was still watching it idk weird it also made me appreciate the little things more like water, power, relationships and such. i can easily go rewatch the show again and again but i will miss watching it here its made my day 10x better and gave me something to look forward too and filled me with laughter because you three are hilarious
Renewannwithane
I definitively think you guys would enjoy downton abbey if you want to continue watching period pieces. There are so many interesting relationship dynamics between the upstairs (rich) and downstairs (servants).
I know Marilla from the great series The Jewel in the Crown . Unfortunately not a series that would get you views but it is fantastic. I wonder if you have stats on you fan base? Hmmm ..well anyways thank you for doing annE with a e . I never watched the last five eps when it was on so it was great to take the last part of journey with yeenz. Cheers!
It was great to re-watch the whole thing with you three and the peeps in the comments! ❤ Didn't know it was canceled, I hope smb funds it without the creative damage 😭
I will forever be heartbroken that this show got cancelled... apparently it was supposed to have multiple more seasons 😭
😭😭
Cancelled for being ‘too young’ when that’s what it’s supposed to be! So down
Yeaaah it's disappointing..they cancelled this precious series but continue stuff like Riverdale 🙈
@@jk-ln9wuRIGHTT riverdale fell off .
I’m even more disappointed because the original Anne books deal with SO MUCH heavy stuff that would have transitioned wonderfully into the series, such as Ruby dying of tuberculosis two weeks before her wedding, and Anne and Gilbert's first child being stillborn. I will forever have a little bittersweet feeling with the ending of this show. I wish they had continued for at least another season 😭
Bittersweet is such a good word for it, exactly how I feel!
They wanted 5 seasons. 😢 they had such a good set up for them in college it would have been an amazing season 4.
dude i know elijah was a dick but the second he was at marys grave &the words "please forgive me mama" left his lips i burst into tears i was bawling
Means you have empathy for him
Oh man, I forgot how touching the ending was. 😭🥹 Justice for Kakwet!
Diana like scolding Gilbert is one of my favorite scenes ever😂 “What letter, Diana what letter?!”
You guys should really watch the 1985 Anne of Green Gables movies with Megan Follows and Jonathan Crombie as Anne and Gilbert
Such a shame this show got cancelled. Anne and Gilbert got married and got seven (!!) kids together, in the books that is. Anne also became a teacher.
The seven kids makes me think of the von trapp family from sound of music/real life
The Ka'kwet storyline made me feel awful, and I guess that's the point.
And then they got married and had seven kids. ❤
But yeah…the Ka’kwet storyline ripped me apart and I wanted a happy ending for her so much.
Matthew Cuthbert makes me cry every time. Such a sweetheart 💕
I'm so so happy they didn't go by the books, Matthew was supposed to die of a heart attack when the ship went down with his crops, instead he gets to watch his girl grow up like he always deserved ❤
God now I'm reminded of how sad it is that AWAE was cancelled so abruptly. I love this show
I have been waiting for someone, anyone, to react to this incredible show and when I found out that you guys finally are going to watch it, I was over the moon! I literally just noticed the cows are called pride and prejudice. That’s so cute 😭
7:03 - the exact moment Bryce was possessed by Zuff 😭

Thank you for watching this show, rewatching it with you made my past months so much more fun and exciting, I had something to look forward to every morning. I am glad you enjoyed it and yea, thanks again! ♥
I’m really gonna miss y’all reacting to this show, but I’m glad you enjoyed it as a whole ❤
so glad that you guys liked the show
In the book series, it follows Anne’s story until she’s in her fifties. I was upset when they canceled the show.
I have absolutely loved your Anne with an e reactions. Thank you for this and I’m glad you guys enjoyed it🫶🫶
You can’t take “cookie brownie points😂” from Gilbert for being honest about how he feels and not making what could be the biggest mistake of his life and he knows it. Brb still crying that it's over

Now onto the Anne of Green Gables movies from the 80s!
one of my favorite things during this whole season is them constantly talk about gilbert's facial expressions and smolders 😭
Lmao Rob singing along to the theme for the finale is kinda great

Diana is not the hero we thought we needed, but the hero we deserved.
its so sad that this show got canceled, definitely a show that deserved more time.
Thanks, guys! I'm going to miss the happy smiles and all the giggling you shared while watching the show.

it was fun watching the show again with you guys!! keep up the good work
You guys should watch the 1985 movie trilogy Anne of Green Gables. Its a bit more cannon to the books but they are amazing!!

I can say that when I first watched the finale after waiting for so long I was under wh by gil and Anne but I was also like 14 lolll. I watched it again not too long ago and fell in love with their love. Glad you guys watched!!!

I wish the show would have given us one more season. I liked this show so much.
That is so funny and I didn’t even notice first watching, cows named pride & prejudice? 😂
If you want another feel-good Canadian show, do Schitt's Creek!
We all know that part of history so…we can kind of guess what will happen to K’kwet and her family.😢
As a fan of the Anne of Green Gables series from the 80’s I really recommend it to those who are interested.

Anne: I have follow up questions
Gilbert: So do l
Me: So do we!!

It's sad but realistic that we never saw her ending because it likely wouldn't have been a happy one.
Thank you for displaying the QUEEN CHARLOTTE poster I gifted to y'all. 🥰
Thank you for watching this beautiful show!
Y’all are serving this vid 🤭👏🏽
I’ll never forgive Netflix for cancelling this show! 😭 I loved it!
16:02 that woman u recognise is the waitress of the diner who marries hazel in umbrella academy!!!!
There is an amazing adaptation of the books starring Meghan Follows that I grew up loving. This was a great version of the books, too. In fact, both adaptations are much better than the books!
I can't believe it's over but it'e been so fun you guys!
Anyone who says they didn't like this show has died inside. Long live, Anne.
I've loved every reaction you have done to this show, sad it's over! I'm glad you enjoyed it
I just added to the ending in my mind that Ka’kwet ended up going home and is living happily with her family. It’s such a sad thing to think about it actually happening to kids back then. I’m so happy that Anne and Gilbert are together now! They’re so so cute together. Love the videos! You all do amazing!
There’s an anime of Anne. It’s really cute.
really?? what’s it called
Matthew Cuthbert
this series is amazing
the books are really good too, i'm reading the "continuation" after this last season and i'm sure you'd like it a lot
Will there ever come a day when I don't bawl my eyes out watching this episode? Guess not. ❤
it's been years and im still hoping they'll continue the show lol
It’s been so fun rewatching the show with you guys I think the finale was good considering they did plan for a fourth season Also for a new show suggestion I’d recommend Yellowjackets or heartbreak high
I will never get over the fact that this show got cancelled, that we wont be seeing the rest of the storie
Thank u for the reaction!!!
Elijah crying by Mary's grave broke me but I'm so glad that bash forgave him as well as Gilbert. I do get what Zuff was saying how it didn't feel like a show but a book the first time i watched (binged the first season all night) and in the morning it felt like i was still watching it idk weird it also made me appreciate the little things more like water, power, relationships and such. i can easily go rewatch the show again and again but i will miss watching it here its made my day 10x better and gave me something to look forward too and filled me with laughter because you three are hilarious
fav show ever!
I still want more... the actual books were wonderful ❤
Yes they had photos at that time. Just hard to come by and expensive to commission.
vogliamo altre stagioni....
