Great video Griff. 'Erre' in Italian is the word for 'R', that's why it's also a decal that appears on the RSV. Love the levels of nerd going on and keep up the the great work 🤓
Yup, correct...you can also find that word on the majority of the 2004 RSV 1000 R Factory produced...while the base model (and some of the Factory that were produced at the end of '04) has only the big R letter the Factory model had "erre factory" decal as well.
Lol I’m fully behind the level of ‘nerding’ here 🤓👊🏼
Hey Griff, me old chum! Think I remember that mine was #88. Feel so chuffed to have owned (and fully enjoyed!) it for 6 years. 😊
Great info video - beautiful racing Tuono 😁
Just watched the video and saw how you decoded my frame mate, interesting stuff and full of facts, I wish I'd gone and checked my bike when I first watched the video (Pre crash) lol
Terrific video. I'm looking forward to owning one, and hopefully a race kit??????? Beautiful bike
Fantastic stuff Griff. I would love a tuono racing but am very happy with my 03 mille R.
Two years later and I sold the RSV and now have number 111 , I couldn’t be happier.
Great video Griff very informative, I’ve just bought an 05 plate tuono that is number 15 of 15 of an On Yer Bike dealer special edition, all the body panels are carbon fibre and it has that belly pan fitted, have you heard of them?
You forget also the color of the wheels from the 2004 ] 05 , they are Blue and not White as the 2003.
Hi Griff. Great site and great service you provide.
I was wondering if you could provide me with any information about a bike that I just got my hands on. It's a Silver, gold rims, Rsv R Mille 2003, with black frame and the monoblock calipers. (I am planning to convert this to a Aprilia Tuono Racing-like bike.) Would be great to know what I actually have on my hands here.
Best regards Lars 🙂
Great stuff Griff
So the 03 is the bike to go for !!
They were built to race in the " thunder twins" in Italy which was being dominated by ducati monsters.
Brilliant, as always! Thanks a lot! :) Looking forward to get my hands on one..
@@APWorkshops unfortunately not. Due to all the lockdowns this will take some time. But yeah. It’s gonna be awesome. Maybe one day, it will feature in one of your beautiful tech tip movies, or it will makes it’s appearance on the Appie-Parts UA-cam channel 😄
Only 200 Tuono Racing units were made in 2003. Only 75 were imported into the USA. I have number 006 of 200.
Quick question.. Does the Racing have an adjustable swing arm pivot ala the RSV-SP?
Did I prompt this then ! Get on with it !
Hi gorgeous bike BTW..
I have recently bought a 2004 tuono factory but I can't seem to find any info on it. What was the difference between a factory and non factory tuono? Thanks in advance
Hi griff ,aprilia owner here, just a quick question,I've got a 2004 two tone grey/gold, no ohlins,I cannot understand why on the logbook says factory .
Factory came on gen2 or am I wrong.
Did they do the same thing for the RSV?
also mine has carbon exhaust hangers
Oooh, a catch tank with a drain hole!
Does the gen 1 Tuono run on carbs or does it already have electronic fuel injection?
Thanks!
Hi, I have a used engine, carbon fibre and other parts from a 2003 aprilla tuono racing. Interested?
@@graphicsequip7863 Hi, vin number is ZD4RPB0603S000132. Bike is with ohlins gold fork and carbon fibre body but not gold frame.
Following the identification from the nerd alert then followed the confirmation from Aprilia 090 doesn’t confirm its a racing on 04 model.
i have bike 81
thanks for the video. If you install the race belly pan, in general why would you change it back the original one for road use? the hole for the side stand? race belly pan looks so much better
