Rev2 despite being analogue, having DCO, it sounds thin. Polybrute also. Even on UA-cam, lossy audio qualit you can hear fatness of rev4 and OB-6, nothing can match subtractive synth with full analogue path and discrete VCO.
Amazing how Dave smith got this thing so right in the 70s when it was his first synth design. It really has never been bettered.
The Oberheim OBX is just as good imo.
There are modern polysynths that can do everything the prophet 5 can do and more, for cheaper
