「水心子正秀（初代・二代合作刀）（すいしんしまさひで、しょだい・にだいがっさくとう）」刀剣鑑賞が100倍楽しくなる動画！ Japanese sword Suishinshi Masahide

新々刀の祖である初代正秀は山形県出身の刀工で、のちに江戸へと出て大活躍した刀工です。
晩年、初代正秀は刀剣復古論を唱えて「刀剣実用論」「刀剣弁疑」といった多くの著書を刊行しました。
さらに、新々刀期における一大教育者として大慶直胤、細川正義などの名工を数多く養成しました。
本作は、初代正秀とその子である二代正秀との合作刀となります。
初代正秀は文政元年に息子に「正秀」の銘を譲り、自身の銘を「天秀」と改めました。
二代正秀は、本作のように初代正秀との合作のほかに、父が鍛えたものに土を置き焼き入れしたもの、代作代銘したものなど、初代正秀の晩年は良き協力者として水心子一門を支えました。
不幸にして、初代正秀と同年の文政8年に47歳で亡くなっているため、作品数は少ないです。
The 1st gen Masahide, who is the ancestor of the Shin-Shin-Tō period, was a swordsmith from Yamagata Prefecture, who later flourished in Edo.
In his later years, the 1st gen Masahide advocated the restoration of swords and published many books such as "Sword Practical Theory(Tōken Jitsuyō-ron)" and "Sword Debate(Tōken Bengi)".
Furthermore, as a major educator during the Shin-Shin-Tō period, he trained many master swordsmiths such as Taikei Naotane and Hosokawa Masayoshi.
This work is a collaborative sword between the 1st gen Masahide and his son, the 2nd gen Masahide.
In the 1st year of Bunsei, the 1st gen Masahide passed on the name "Masahide" to his son and changed his own name to "Amahide".
The 2nd gen Masahide, besides collaborating with his father as seen in this work, also supported the Suishinshi lineage as a good collaborator in his father's later years by applying clay to swords forged by his father and inscribing his name, among other tasks.
Unfortunately, he passed away at the age of 47 in the 8th year of Bunsei, the same year as the 1st gen Masahide, so there are few works attributed to him.
