Risings to start the display off. These were then followed by the Retreat March Eileen Aroon and then the Retreat March Malplaquet. The Troop. The Thunderer. Sunset Fanfares-(Fanfare 1) Swingtime. Will Your Anchor Hold
D543_42 as we’re not part of the London Massed Bugle Band who came up with the original, we decided to use our own drumming for Will Your Anchor Hold. It’s the Footguards Quicksteps we use. All the other companies in our Battalion use the Footguards Quicksteps too. Our drummers aren’t too keen on the LMBB drum parts
Another thing about Anchor Hymn is that we prefer cutting it short on the 1st time through and doing the sustained finish on the 2nd time through instead. As it doesn’t really make sense to sustain it on the 1st time through. You want the sustained bit to be a big finish, so it makes more sense to only do it on the 2nd time through. I’m someone who is also a guest player with the London Massed Bugle Band and have played both the version on here and the LMBB Version. I’m fine with both. And we also use the full title of the tune which is Will Your Anchor Hold. As there’s also another BB tune actually called the Anchor Song
Very good , reminds me of my years in the BB in London.
Bulge parts make me cry!
Very nice! List of marches please?
