It's awesome to see a Christian in the tech space. Seems that the tech industry is full of athiest's and if u try an speak about any thing less than being an athiest u get punished for it. Let me tell you what the take I got from this video, David you are the best at what you do and Chuck is the best at what he does with both being in contrast to each other, but when you both come together, then there is a huge discussion to think about. @@hamiddjb6708 I started my journey with Google IT Support Certificate (on Coursera), but the "CompTIA A+" was the cert that helped me land my first job. Professor Messer has free videos for the A+, so that's a good place to start.

I managed to land a web developer position here in Fresno for $30/hour after getting my Associate degree in Web design a couple years ago. You just have to work hard, network hard, learn everything you can and you will get there. I love my job. I do marketing and design as well and love it.
And I used to be a truck driver that was wrongly convicted of Vehicular Manslaughter and served 11 months in prison for something I didn't do.
Edit - full time position 8 hours a day Monday through Friday. Praise the Lord.

@@victorwarner319 I plead No Contest after 3 1/2 years fighting it from Fresno to LA. They took away my CDL too so I lost my entire career in truck driving, so I went on welfare and back to school. I finished my AA in Web Development and then plead No Contest right before the trial started for 11 months instead of if I lost - 11 years. My lawyer told me it was impossible to tell for sure what happened and if we possibly lost I could have gotten the max sentence and if we wanted to win I would need an additional $30K for an Accident Reconstruction Specialist which I definitely didn't have.

The story of how Network Chuck enter the world of IT is super interesting.
I was a photojournalist, during Covid I resigned from the newspaper. I went to study A+. I found a job in the second line of networks and after a few months I joined a SOC team.
I am so glad you finally had Network Chuck on. I am a software Engineer, but Network Chuck makes me want to get into Networking more. He is great, and one of the few "teachers" who actually keeps me interested

As an ex IT guy who did some stuff (tm). Its like climbing a mountain, you hang on the edge until you get it, you won't understand how you didn't get it before then, then there is another peak, one after that and another, you can keep moving from thing to thing as you attain mastery.
Be nice to your IT guy, going with them during a maintenance window is always appreciated and you will learn things.

I honestly see Chuck and David as my old good friends back when I was starting my CCNA and needed some motivation and see things from another perspective. I don't see your content as much as I used to but both of you guys videos were kinda of a blessing in my early days

I took a pay cut for the job I have right now. I have been a Network Engineer for almost two years, and the raises are good. In five or six years, I expect to be paid much more than I would be if I stayed working as a machinist. I am glad I did it. Somedays, it is stressful to help every person with their computer problems. The expectation is you know everything. But over time, you eventually start to see everything, and you get comfortable fixing everyone's issues.
NetworkChuck is one of the inspirations that pushed me towards networking and cyber security. I love both of your work.

I am new in the IT world and love both of your channels! I have always wanted to be a youtube but the introvert in me has stopped me from doing so. This video has inspired me to start creating videos. I truly believe that regurgitating is a great way to learn material you're struggling with. TOTALLY agree. The IT industry is amazing! The problem is the entire industry is well below the pay/underpaid. Most of the companies are looking for engineers to do things that a sysadmin with experience can do.

There is something I enjoy about both David and Chuck, they are genuine and it is best to be your true authentic self. I picked up on both your channels during lockdown and both of you and your guests have taught me ALOT. Thanks to you both I can spin up servers, crack into Linux, have Tor nodes including a Tor relay and a yet to be much improved onion portfolio site (using a template generated by Chuck). I am learning Python, refreshing my learning on C, and getting into javascript, picking up HTML and CSS. I have started doing free qualifications in cybersecurity. This isn't my main job and it is great to learn these skills. I work in Industrial Controls so the cybersecurity for ICS and SCADA really interests me.

I am a subscriber to both your UA-cam channels. I have learned so much from you both.
A thing I had to learn about career paths. You can achieve a lot without taking the traditional Junior-Senior-Supervisor-Department Manager etc path. That's a management route that society says you do to succeed. In IT, you can do well by pushing in many other areas, Cyber, architecture etc. took me a long time to realise that.... You can get to CTO, and not "manage" people.
This guy is amazing, I meet him in the parking lot of microcenter in texas, he was so welcoming just to say hi, I was I a rush however he and his team were cool!!!
So inspirational! I've thought about making techy/hacking videos on youtube, but seeing the level of most other tech related youtubers and how much they know makes me think I'm not good enough yet to start making those types of videos. This video is making me more confident and perhaps I might start making tech related videos.

I like the fact thar David is asking too many things about everthing. Every question, doesn't matter how simple it sounds, leaves nothing out.

I started my cyber security journey thanks to both of you! I'm still a starter and learning about linux more and more every day, otherwise I have a fair good knowledge about pc's and networks :D don't ask how I managed to skip Linux. Right now I'm working as a project manager in a globally known corporation but I'm trying to divert my career toward cyber security. I've been actively networking and learning about the industry and even joined an association of industry experts here in Finland :D Thank you guys for your awesome content!

I loved this podcast as I follow you both. Everytime I have been learning something new from both of your channels and this some new thing was this VMix software. Teaching some friends of mine or demonstrating some IT problem I have used OBS Studio for recordings but it was super neat to learn how NetworkChuck does his recordings all this drawings. Appreciate everything you both do.
HAK5 was pre UA-cam and my favorite source.
Many of us had to learn it from books. Or whatever reference we had access to.
Even video and audio editing. I have done little by little over the many years. All on my own learning this or that process.
But my experience is IT but my degree is electronics engineering.
David and Chuck thanks for all your videos, they have helped me and others to stay motivated keeping learning.
