I was 11 years old staying at my uncle’s place on Deep Creek Lake in Maryland. One of his friends drove a 6 cylinder Chris Craft wide open past our dock. Still remember the growl of that motor and the shiny wood. That was 61 years ago. I was hooked on wooden speed boats from then on. Thanks for this tremendous video.
Most old wooden boats are well cared for until they are handed over to the next generation of custodians. This process continues the heritage, and also keeps the knowledge and skills of boat building alive. Without doubt, the world is a nicer place with these wooden wonders on the water! 😉
Thank you so much! We have wrapped production on our next episode, and are in post-production at the moment. Each episode is fairly substantial undertaking with a large crew and extensive travel. Comments from viewers, like you, are very encouraging and sustaining. We really appreciate all of our viewers and subscribers!
I'm a Chris Craft man @ 68 yrs of age. There's a CC in a barn in Danville, Indiana that is huge,my only problem is I cannot remember how to get back there & the friend I went with passed away,I'm 99.9% sure it's still there, I keep driving around...I will find it , I hope I do anyway
Well let us know if you figure it out! We are working on a potential barn find episode now - exciting stuff! Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Really appreciate it.
Great Question! In our opinion, you can't do better than Steve Lapkin Photography. He is one of the premiere classic boat photographers and a very nice guy: steven-lapkin.pixels.com. There are other collections, such as Antique Boat Museum and Mariners' Museum and Park. We have done extensive research on Gentleman's Racers for an upcoming episode, and it has proven somewhat difficult to find a really good, vintage, frame-worthy photo. There are tons of cool old photos of these boats, but often they are pictures of pictures, or just not that great due to the limitations of cameras, lenses and film stock at the time. Let us know if you find something.

I get it that you are interviewing people, but while you are talking, could you show more of the boats?

Love these videos. This one seems to indicate a move toward being advertisements. Not sure I’m looking forward to that.
