Aiden has the same attitude towards food as my nephew. Sticking his nose up at everything new. Picky about every little thing. Granted, my nephew's a six year old....
That's way nicer than the food we usually have around here for the super bowl, it's usually just buffalo wings and burgers and fries which is still good but this stuff was next level. Listen to your dad Aidan, he knows food.
We usually do a get together where everyone brings 1 or 2 things and that often includes someone smoking things and dips. So this seemed pretty good representation to me.
Super Bowl sausage is usually a form of Polish Kielbasa. So either you take a full size one and slice it like in the video or take the little ones and put it either on a baking sheet or in a slow cooker with bbq sauce. And toothpicks of course. 😅 They pretty much tried all the basics, but a lot of super bowl spreads will also have: A slow cooker of Chili for bowls, nachos, and chili dogs. With toppings on the side. Burger sliders. Cut up sub sandwiches. Pizzas. Pulled pork sliders. BBQ chicken. Jalapeño poppers. Meatballs. Loaded potato skins. A tater tot hot-dish covered in melted cheese. And depending on the family maybe an addition like egg rolls, tamales, or mozzarella sticks.
It’s actually “Lit’l Smokies”, and you’re referring to Hillshire Farm specifically. I say “little ones”, because it doesn’t matter what brand you use or if you use generic. 😄
Oh yeah "cut up subsandwiches" are a classic on the east coast where there are lots of really good delis. Theyll get a variety of 3-6 foot subs and cut them up into 3 inch segments for people to just grab and munch on. My first superbowl I was like 5-6 years old and it blew my mind how big those sandwiches can be lol. It was bigger than me.

Sophie was not that far off with the idea of a Philly cheesesteak sandwich for a Super Bowl party. in the '80s my family and I would make 6-foot subs homemade (Subway shops weren't really a thing yet back then). We would cut the sandwich into about three or four-inch pieces and eat it throughout the game. We also had plenty of other things to eat; Chips and dip, pizza rolls, cheese and crackers, etc. We always had the classic cold-cut combo, but I would have loved for that sandwich to have been a Philly Cheese Steak. It has always been my favorite sandwich!
Quacamole definitely makes the 7 layer dip. I probably wouldn’t put avocado on top but instead just do shredded mexican style cheese. Avocado slices are also great on tortas chicken milanesa.
Had a great chicken torta from our local authentic Mexican restaurant yesterday. Chicken, onions, tomato, avocado and jalapeno...mmm, now I am hungry again.
7 layer dip is great because its really whatever you want in it. everything is optional or can be substituted for your preference. the classic is usually "ground beef, refried beans, sour cream, guac, salsa, shredded cheese, topped with spring onion/black olives on top for garnish/flavor. can also just remove the beef to make it vegetarian.
I love how the British cam crew were mind-blown faster than the foodgasms. Luke and Adam had the best reactions with Josh and Olly. Though it is a pity that there isn't a beer mug for Daz.

I'm a bit surprised you can find authentic American Superbowl food like that in London. Even the queso dip looked legit despite it not being Velveeta. Looks tasty!
What a fun video. As usual, Aidan and Sophie turn their noses up at the majority of things on the menu. That's okay, to each their own. Regarding those huge hot dogs with that much stuff on top, Sophie and Aidan, I would likely lean way forward, take one bite and then use my knife and fork for the rest of it. 2:27 Michael saying "American football [fans] are much less aggressive [than soccer fans]" is kind of hilarious. There's nothing about hooliganism to be proud about, but being an opposing fan in many NFL stadiums can be very dangerous, especially when the games end and people are heading to the parking lots. About ten years ago a 49'ers fan was shot twice in the stomach by two Raiders fans after a game, and another 49'ers fan was shot in the face at the same game. "Another violent crime happened inside the stadium itself during the game. A 26-year-old man was assaulted to the point of unconsciousness in the bathroom during the fourth quarter. He was taken to the hospital and his injuries are life-threatening." And in baseball: A San Francisco Giants fan was beaten so badly after a game that he suffered brain damage and permanent disability. Again, absolutely nothing to be proud of and college football rivalries which often feel more intense still remain largely civil, but in the end deranged sports fans abound everywhere.
Daz is the consummate Gen-Xer, go to a country you’ve never been to or a restaurant or region you’re new to and eat or drink as the Romans do. There’s only a couple of things, food wise, that I never tried and never will, for the most part, even when something seems like it’s going to taste bad, try it. I’ve been pleasantly surprised so many times in my life that it’s not funny…lol yes pun intended. When I was Aiden’s age I was very particular about what I ate, until I joined the Navy and then I experienced the foods throughout the Pacific Rim, India and the Persian Gulf countries. Remember, when I’m Rome, all too often, street food is some of the best. Great reaction family, cheers and have a great weekend.
