I’m just happy to find this before my banjo arrives. If it arrives that is, seems to be stuck in the postal system somewhere at the moment. Hope you got out of the mess you got into.
Definition of a Banjo: An instrument you spend half your playtime tuning, and the other half playing out of tune. Sounded good when you tuned it up to it's best head tension. Does that banjo have a tone ring in it?
Very useful information, cheers!
Glad to find this video. Im new to clawhammwr and banjo in general so this is very helpful to squelch any fears about tinkering with the banjo
Very good, I just subbed, cheers from New Zealand 🇳🇿
Good straight forward vid man..You're a fine player
I wish I had found your videos when I first started playing I perhaps wouldn’t be in the mess I’m in now.

this is a great video Steve.
Hi Steve, thanks for that. Great accent by the way!! Cheers from England.
Interesting that tightening the head gives you more bass. I would have thought the opposite would be true.
Thanks for sharing. Will replace my Davidson with a Fibreskyn and give it a try.
Great video, thanks
Are you using a hide heard or Renaissance head?
This is a Remo “fiberskyn” head.

Hurdy-gurdy players say exactly the same thing.
