I know this falls into more wishlist territory but, if the trend continues, we are due for a new Shonen Jump anniversary game next year and it's been my hope with the success of DBFZ that ArcSys have been entrusted to make it. Wishful thinking but I don't think I'm strong enough to go through another Jump Force
@bluemageblues8678 that's probably what you'll get. The amount of references and callbacks in DBFZ ALONE is insane. No WAY they could do it for a Jump overall game. Keeping it to individual series makes the most sense IMO.
Dawg I dunno if it's even worth it. The benefit of arena garbage is that it allows you to get away with more characters. Would people be happy if the game launches with like 16 characters, 2/3 probably being OP, DB, and Naruto?
As cool as it would be to see an ArcSys game with a cast that pulls from all of Shonen Jump, I don't think the actual end product is something anyone would really want. It would just suffer the same fate as Jump Force where after a couple of years the game would disappear from stores and get sent straight to licensing hell.
@MichaelMercer not necessarily. This happened to J-Force because the game had a very lukewarm reception to begin with, making it not worth supporting. The real issue is that a "serious" FGC Fighting game cannot work for a Jump anniversary celebration. You need to be able to have lots more characters than what Arksys would be able to do (even Jump Force got flak for omitting this or that character). And a more accessible pick up and play format like platforms fighter or Arena fighter works best for that type of game anyway. (since the whole point is that any random Jump fans can be able to pick it up and play with their favorites characters. the Best option would be to have Arksys make a One Piece game or something, and from there make it thing where they give the fgc threatment to various Jump serie (Jojo, Naruto, whatever...). Meanwhile for the Jump anniversary, make a Arena fighter, but one on the scope of Something like the Ultimate Ninja Storm serie, with enough character and content to properly pays hommage to the magazine's large catalogue.
I NEED Arcsys to take anime-licensed games away from Bandai. Bandai has proven that they don't care about any fighting game franchise not named Tekken (or Smash).
I think it's important to consider how much of arcsys actually works on these titles, it doesn't seem impossible that the rollback work for dbfz it's more of a work of Bandai rather than arcsys, same with cygames and granblue (although obviously arcsys role in terms of visual work it's really big here), it doesn't seem impossible that they've been working on something behind the scenes these last 2 years, a one piece game from them would be cool :(
Yeah thats kinda my point. It used to be 3 games at the front with a kind of clear image on what teams were on what. Now they are split between like 4-5 games and it's more ambiguous
I would love to see Arc come up with a new IP, just try something. And by the end of Strive season 3, they'll start to spin up talks for the next GG. Maybe a Persona 5 fighting game like people have wanted forever, but P5 is getting up there as a brand itself.
Why would they startt a new gf after season 3 lol, they haven't even reached the previous roster size yet. And honestly if they make a new IP it prob wouldn't even be a fighting game
"Total cast of 25 unique characters" Strive Character Count: 26 also, a new guilty gear wouldn't even make sense. lore-wise, strive was supposed to be the finale to the story
I would imagine Arcsys might be working on some licence fighter (Persona or a Jump property) and the future of Guilty Gear seeing how Strive popped off for them. Good chance they would want to capitalize on that and keep growing the brand. They could go for a fourth season but it might be better to do an updated rerelease with a Strive Rev2 kind of deal before going for the next game in the series. Also crossing my fingers that Virtua Fighter 6 gets announced but that's fan fiction for the moment (and even then I don't see it releasing in time to be considered for EVO 2024).

I wouldn't be surprised if the retro spot is related to arcsys. We could have a theme running where each retro is tied to a dev. But KI and 3rd Strike fit best for retro. Question is that when Project L releases, which game is getting the boot if we're staying at 8 games per evo?
Project L being on the horizon is kinda understating it for real. Do we even know a potential year that thing is supposed to come out? It'd be awesome to get it next year but I kinda doubt it, sadly.
I've been thinking and more than a license game, I want a crossover game. Really hoping it does end up being KI, game is just so sick and I always love watching it on the big stage. Also just in terms of games and stuff, I doubt Bamco is anywhere near making a new Soul Cal, but damn we need a new Soul cal with actual good online, would be hype

Ayy, Night Walker II playing in the back. I wouldn't mind a new shounen IP fighter from Arcsys. DBFZ is exciting and all but I always thought the different colored ki and fisticuffs ideas with no weapons or real "gimmicks" made it less exciting than a potential fighter based on the old Big Three with Naruto, Bleach, or One Piece. I'd easily take any of those as a 2D fighter than DBZ just purely from character variety in fighting styles.
As someone who have played Blazblue for years and is still playing the game, I wasn't sure if I wanted a new Blazblue (1v1 fighting game) since I don't like the current ASW that much, but now I'm like fuck it, I'm willing to accept, be it Blazblue Strive or something Other than that my guess would be that the partnership with Bamco is so sucessful that they are cooking something for them, be DBFZ2 or even further beyond, something like Jump versus 3v3, which would bring much more eyes and new players than just a Dragon Ball game, hell, Akira Toriyama was watching EVO finals for DBFZ, imagine the potential for a Shonen Jump game.
I know it was said and the comments on the reasoning behind make me understand why it's unlikely, but lord do I still wish for an ArcSys Naruto versus fighter. The team dynamic is already there from the start with how the series used squads of 3 (4 counting the Jonin). Whereas in Dragon Ball, it was mostly one on one fights. An example for assists is in how the Storm games use them, if they actually needed ideas. There's enough Naruto and Sasuke variants that could easily rival the variants of Goku and Vegeta. I know it's not happening for like another 5 years if ever but fuck. Naruto was my show way more than DBZ ever was and it deserves a legit hardcore fighter damnit! 😤
I was reading the rules for KOF XV for Evo Japan 2024. There was one rule for controller setting which I didn't understand. It says; "Operation other than movement [Weak attack, middle attack, strong attack, special technique, abilities (default: R1), throw (default: L1), guard (default: R2), overhead attack (default: L2)] Cannot be assigned to multiple input mechanisms." What does cannot be assigned to multiple input mechanisms mean in this context? I was wondering if a player over here is allowed to have multiple buttons assigned to a single function as in two buttons for light kicks or light punches as such. Is that allowed ???
We might not even see a naruto fighterz conisdering that jump is sticking their guns to storm games with NUNS: connections despite the quality of that game. I think an interesting pick would be Bleach since it has been getting traction from the TYBW anime adaption. Having the gameplay be similar to blazblue with zanpakuto abilities work like drives and bankais being overdrives. Also, they could take stuff from the DS fighting game which was surprisingly in-depth for a handheld game. But unfortunately, thats too much wishful thinking for the future.
That's not necessarily the case. Other DB games where made concurrently to DBFZ. If Cyber Connect doesn't have some sort of exclusivity deal with Bamco and Shueisa on Naruto game nothing would prevent an other game in a different genre if someone showed interest.
Is there an issue with KI given that sony runs evo now? Minus 3rd strike which is run on arcade cabinets, EVO japan is being run entirely on PS5's iirc. Would they bust out the PCs just for KI?
Two things: 1. I think ArcSystemWorks is working on both a DBFZ sequel and probably a few anime licensed fighters. 2. I would die laughing if MultiVersus is getting that legacy game spot.
Hopping on the Arc fan train with Xrd and seeing their old game lineup and thinking positively about their future games and projects and being (personally) disappointed everytime sucked ass
What I really want to see them do is One Piece FighterZ. One Piece deserves to get a really good fighting game finally. And if ArcSys can do with OP what they did with DB, that would be incredible. Just...for the love of god, try and limit the number of Luffys to, like...2.
@@Madlib7 Yes there is. And if they try and make characters out of all of them, they can fuck all the way off. Because that 10 Gokus shit ruined FighterZ. I'll accept one pre-timeskip Luffy(2/3rd Gear) and one post-timeskip Luffy(all 4th Gear forms). They can make one more for 5th Gear...later down the road after it's been around longer and has been fleshed out more.
Whether its a new ip or some sort of brand deal thing like with dnf duel/dbfz, im down for anything arcsys wants to put out. Theyve been on a roll the past few years; at least i think so, anyway
Tbh, its only fair (and logical) that MvC2 should take that legacy spot for Evo next year. Especially after missing its grand stage opportunity as a result of the pandemic.
I know its a pipedream but I'd kill for an original IP or (a REAL pipedream) return of Blazblue. I dont care that much about Naruto or One Piece or most likely whatever big IP is realistically their next game and I think it would be so much fun to see a high quality fighting game pop up with 12 brand new characters that we have no point of reference for in either design or gameplay archetype. It obviously doesn't make sense from a business perspective, and I'm probably in the minority for wanting that, but that feeling of complete mystery is largely gone in fighting games unless you dive deep into the indie titles which can be hit or miss.
Idk but it’s pissing me off that they made the deal to make a VERY!.. successful DBZ anime fighting game but aren’t making any deals with other companies. I mean imagine a Bleach, Yu Yu Hakusho or Naruto game like Fightsz. They’re crazy if they think that wouldn’t sell, but hey I guess they just don’t like 💰🤷♂️👀👀
@@kenshin391There are always things that would be more popular and successful. You think companies don't know that? But game development is more complex that your "thoughts". There are logistics to consider and SJ IPs have reportedly always been difficult to work with due to Shueisha's BS policies.
A SJ crossover would be too much of a copyright minefield. Jump Force has already been discontinued due to expiring licenses. Shueisha has a draconian hold over their IPs, the more you want to use the harder/more expensive it becomes. Arc would never want to be on the hook paying for multiple SJ licenses.
idk why people saying they might be working on naruto. If they were to work on another anime to get something like dbfz numbers i'm guessing it'd be like One piece or JJK.
Xrd would be a cool ass throwback tourney, maybe like 2 years down the line. For someone who wasn’t around during the Blazblue glory days I think it’d be cool to see a new installment haha, I kinda want them to make a new ip tho, Daisuke is done w/ his involvement in gear after Strive but I imagine they keep the series going somehow it’s a money maker at this point, but alongside that a new ip would be cool. I am hit or miss on any Shonen Fighterz or Naruto Fighterz speculations haha idrc for Naruto 😂😂😂😂 BBCF would be another great throwback tourney
I honestly hope they're working on a new IP. Guilty Gear and Blazblue are cool but I feel like they have enough fame now that people would look at something completely new from them. I think if there's any time to do it, it's now.
Feel like arcsys is probably pretty satisfied with just working on guilty gear and being contracted for other projects. In other words im not expecting a new ip or blazblue from them. I always wonder how much involvement they even have on games like granblue or dnf after its released. I feel like it cant be too much. I always hope for a bleach fighterz if I had to pick anime franchise. I also really hope granblue gets its time to shine next year. Im excited for it
I mean it's been what, JUST Blazeblue as their forefront new IP since it was created in 2008. They then switched gears (heh) to Guilty Gear when they got the IP back and now Blazeblue looks to be put in the background while Guilty Gear gets the spotlight. They have gained SUCH a reputation now that I really can't imagine the direction they'd go if they are working on a brand new IP. My only hope is they don't look at Strives sales as a basis for a new series cos uh.....man, I don't need Strive design mentality elsewhere
After seeing the massive success of DBFZ, it makes me think back to Marvel Vs. Capcom, and it made me wonder... Could Arcsys create a rival to MvC? Could they make something like DC Vs. Shonen Jump?
@@extremepop324 Jump Force exists already and has already been discontinued because Namco didn't want to keep paying for all those licenses. You'd be more likely to see ASW vs Capcom or something.
Yeah all 9 Bleach fans would like that very much. Just hope they get animators to animate shit in the game rather than vomit out special effects all over the screen like they did with the TYBW anime.
WHERE'S / WHEN'S CAPCOM VS SNK 3 ? ? ? Both companies have bounced back from their respective slogs *AND* both have voiced interest in a third. When's it happenin' and what characters are getting the invites ? ? ?
@@doogies Trust me I know that's prob how its gonna be. I'm holding the pipe dream of arcsys making BB their dedicated more traditional style anime fighter series ...but that's def not very likely
Every game since Strive has been more or less strivified. I mean shit, GB Rising started with motion inputs with the option of one button + input, AND THEN DOUBLED DOWN and removed them.
It’d be hard for them to top Dragonball for me since I’ve seen all of that but very little of Naruto or One Piece (Although I do like One Piece more from what I’ve seen). The next best thing I’d be excited for is Hunter X Hunter, but that’s not as big.
I think the only point against KI is that Sony owns evo now and they might not want to run a game that is not on their platform. But then it’s like what do you run instead? 3S? Marvel again? USF4?! No idea
It’s interesting how we don’t have any idea what arcsys is working on, I sure as hell don’t feel confident in any guesses myself. Historically by now we’d fully expect an arcade version refresh + port, but with arcades dying and the focus shifting to standalone console release it’s gotta be something else. Business wise the smartest thing they could do is make an iterative sequel of strive with improved graphics, but arcsys is one of the few companies willing to take risks so it could honestly be anything. I totally agree that it isn’t a Naruto fighting game though, dbfz only came about because of Bandai’s need to keep pumping dragon ball games out on a yearly basis to keep the license.
Sooner or later they're gonna have to start putting arena fighters on whether it be Naruto, Gundam or something else that comes along and makes big waves.
Not gonna hold you, imma need a Naruto FighterZ, a Bleach FighterZ and a One Piece FighterZ before I die. Cause DBFZ is the best adapatation of an anime since EVER.
@@doogies I mean it'd be an upgrade over being BBTAG-ified. But they also basically said that they turned BB into a tag game because they didn't want it cannibalizing Gear. Then they let Mori walk. Definitely ain't happening.
@@doogies "Mori left and do you really want a BB but strive-ified? I'm good lol" Was going to type this but Obama you beat me to it. Since the biggest problem MANY fans of BB had with BBTAG was with them either REMOVING or neutering core mechanics that was present in the mainline series that ended with BBCF, as well as simplifying all the characters. Why some people want a new BB fighting game despite how likely will get something similar if Arc System Works makes a new title in the series is beyond me.. Personally, I would like updates to BBCF instead of a new title, since we know the product is good. In regards to updated content to the game, I would like a replay feature where you can take control during your online matches, like how it works in GGAC+R, since it saves a player time in having to learn another character, or set up your struggling with, and I'm really shocked that feature didn't make it into to the BBCF online update. In terms of game play, a slight balance update is all that is needed, since a lot of pro players agree that majority of the cast is at least tournament viable ( obviously to varying degrees), and I would only nerf the borderline broken characters ( Izanami, and Arakune) and even nerf the other top tiers like( Rachel and Nine). And buff the bottoms ones ( like Noel and Terumi) and leave every one else alone. Since Arc System Works doesn't have the best history when it comes to balance according to the player community. Just my two cents.
My initial reaction is that a One Piece fighter would do better than a Naruto one, especially as far as bringing in non fighting game people like DBFZ did, but my perspective could be way out of whack on that.

Was that an electric guitar box off to the side?
My EVO2024 lineup guess, assuming they keep the 8 game slots, is:
01 - Street Fighter 6
02 - Tekken 8
03 - Guilty Gear Strive
04 - KOF 15
05 - Dragon Ball FighterZ
06 - Granblue Rising
07 - Mortal Kombat 1
08 - Killer Instinct as a legacy/retro entry or Under Night 2
Why would uni2 get a retro slot lol
I was reading the rules for KOF XV for Evo Japan 2024. There was one rule for controller setting which I didn't understand. It says; "Operation other than movement [Weak attack, middle attack, strong attack, special technique, abilities (default: R1), throw (default: L1), guard (default: R2), overhead attack (default: L2)] Cannot be assigned to multiple input mechanisms."
What does cannot be assigned to multiple input mechanisms mean in this context?
I believe they would have to go PC for KI?

@@doogies one of the only UA-camrs who I look forward to seeing videos from.
Just straight facts every vid.
Honestly the strongest move would be to give the legacy spot to Soul Calibur 2.
That's not a terrible idea honestly
that would be so sick!
Its gonna be Sammy vs Cammy: Capcom vs Arksys Versus Tag Fighter
Two things:
1. I think ArcSystemWorks is working on both a DBFZ sequel and probably a few anime licensed fighters.
2. I would die laughing if MultiVersus is getting that legacy game spot.
The dude that leaked the Persona 3 remake also leaked a new Persona fighting game iirc. Not saying it's true necessarily, but it makes sense.
This or one piece character in Tekken
With all the forms Luffy has there's minimum 4 to 6 different Luffys even if 2 of them use stances.
Finally, the return of the proper ArkSys franchise. Family Go-kart Racing.

There is no modern port of the game to push with it, makes it hard like 3s
@@doogies and yet 3S is in the main Lineup in JPN lol! Just saying, why can't we have nice lineups also out here 😏
They're cooking that garbage ass regional prices for uni2
They’re crazy if they think that wouldn’t sell, but hey I guess they just don’t like 💰🤷♂️👀👀
I just dont know where the rumors come from for people to keep saying that about yyh and Naruto and bleach fighterz
@@doogies That’s true, but I really think it would be a good idea and successful one in my opinion.
@@kenshin391There are always things that would be more popular and successful. You think companies don't know that? But game development is more complex that your "thoughts". There are logistics to consider and SJ IPs have reportedly always been difficult to work with due to Shueisha's BS policies.
BBCF or VSav would be hype and their communities deserve the spotlight. Just patiently waiting on that VF announcement any moment now...
VS is a good one...not sure what they would play on tho. Arcade...?
Arc System Works developing a Shonen Jump crossover game makes more sense than Dragon Ball FighterZ 2.

I am hit or miss on any Shonen Fighterz or Naruto Fighterz speculations haha idrc for Naruto 😂😂😂😂 BBCF would be another great throwback tourney
nah. i dont like where xrd ends. would need a new ver
You know what, COW is one hell of a name. Still, I don't want it to replace KOF just yet, the FF/Garou system is a tad different from KOF's.
What if COW takes it's place but they put a old KOF game in the legacy spot? 2002 UM or 13 GM?
@@aramondehasashi3324 I can see that happening but I prefer 02UM to 13.
Why only 8-9 games? Why not 10 or more?
Afaik running these events are huge logistics challenges but I thought I'd ask.
you answered your own question
I generally just want something new out of them because I don't like any of their current offerings. My main hope is Persona 5 Arena.
Even though I want KOF15 to return, I think it might get replaced by Rising or Uni 2.
You have a bad read. 15 safe, uni2 in I think
Im excited for it
I feel like persona fighter will happen but idk when
I mean it's been what, JUST Blazeblue as their forefront new IP since it was created in 2008. They then switched gears (heh) to Guilty Gear when they got the IP back and now Blazeblue looks to be put in the background while Guilty Gear gets the spotlight. They have gained SUCH a reputation now that I really can't imagine the direction they'd go if they are working on a brand new IP.
My only hope is they don't look at Strives sales as a basis for a new series cos uh.....man, I don't need Strive design mentality elsewhere
your hope...I got bad news for ya chief
After seeing the massive success of DBFZ, it makes me think back to Marvel Vs. Capcom, and it made me wonder...
Could Arcsys create a rival to MvC?
Could they make something like DC Vs. Shonen Jump?
Shueisha would never allow it. Working with any of their IPs is a nightmare and honestly I don't expect to see ASW do anything else with them.
I mean, they could just make another Tag fighter, they don’t have to make it X vs. X. I’d play a Capcom vs Nobody that plays like MvC.
@@extremepop324 Jump Force exists already and has already been discontinued because Namco didn't want to keep paying for all those licenses. You'd be more likely to see ASW vs Capcom or something.
i wouldnt be against arcsys getting the legacy spot with ggxx or fuck it fist of the north star
A bleach fighting game would be so sick 😫
Who Is asking for that in 2024 lmao
@doogies let me cope!
SNK does not have the IP power it once did to even make that make sense rn imo

Imma Answer your question for ya Pal.
Arcsys Guilty Gear Engine Official Hololive Fighting Game.
It's more likely that ArcSys would be working on a One Piece game than Naruto if they're making another Shonen Jump licensed game.
Probably a video game
I’m genuinely hoping for gg vs bb. That’s my fanfic theory
Sooner or later they're gonna have to start putting arena fighters on whether it be Naruto, Gundam or something else that comes along and makes big waves.
Gundam would be HUGE for here in the west. There's some dedicated people and if it works it would explode like crazy.
Not gonna hold you, imma need a Naruto FighterZ, a Bleach FighterZ and a One Piece FighterZ before I die. Cause DBFZ is the best adapatation of an anime since EVER.
@extremepop324 that would be even better. An Anime KOF Dream Match. The match up possibilities are endless. It's a power-scalers dream game. 🤣🤣🤣

I'm good lol"
Was going to type this but Obama you beat me to it.
And now we know the answer... nothing.
Strive 2
My initial reaction is that a One Piece fighter would do better than a Naruto one, especially as far as bringing in non fighting game people like DBFZ did, but my perspective could be way out of whack on that.
