Nice! I thought you were gonna finish either that reverse triangle or after you switched to the regular triangle. Nice arm drag to inside trip takedown!
It was very close! Unfortunately I tweaked my left elbow in the week leading up the event, and had a badly sprained or broken finger in my right hand, so I couldn't add enough force to my choke mechanics to get the tap.
My opponent had outstanding posture and triangle defense, which was a huge part of it. I also had injuries in both of my arms that limited how much pressure I could apply to break posture.
Are wrist locks not allowed? because I am seriously wondering why you wouldn’t resort to a wrist lock if you have the triangle and can’t get the arm or the choke. I know absolutely nothing about jujitsu competition rulesets.
Nothing to do with them not being allowed, they are. Your comment implies you haven't competed before, so I'll just say it's nowhere near as simple as just "resorting to a wrist lock". Moves aren't available just because you want them to be, they require a context.
Congrats Rob. Great work

Awesome! Why do you think the triangle failed? It looked pretty deep.
