    Excellent video, thanks.
I have one old Marshall Combo that I've had since 1975(?) ...great sound but noisy.
I use a Helix LT for almost everything these days. Had the Stomp existed when I bought it I might have gone for that instead but at the time it was the LT or an AC30 (just because I've always wanted one). Most of my sounds both recorded and live a re based on the Helix emulation of the AC30 but it's so nice to have other amps there just in case. The Helix is way more luggable than an AC30 (or even a 15)...this gets more important as you get older. ;)

Lol, nice! I'm a real Marshall fanboy! The Helix LT is awesome! Amazing possibilities for the price too. I'm not man enough for an ac30, those things are insanely loud and huge. The AC15 is one of the nicest amps I've ever played though, I'd really like one.
My favourite HX amp so for is the Matchless copy and I think matchless amps are based on Vox amps too.
Thanks for watching! I didn't think people would appreciate the talking bids, perhaps I'll make some more. :)

@@jtguitartv I think as long as what you're saying is interesting and well thought through (as it has been) folk will listen. You have a good voice and manner for explaining/theorising.

Thanks, you're too kind. I'll do my best to keep it interesting and informative. It's also really good to get a discussion going to see how people really feel about certain subjects. Thanks again for watching and your words of encouragement.

Bass: a) for live work I had been using a Behringer BDI, though I still used my amp for those with no in-ear monitors; b) for recording I currently use a mic preamp to boost signal into interface and an amp VST.
Guitar: a) don't play guitar live but might consider recording solution for PA; b) for recording I use my valve amps into Two Notes Torpedo.

Nice setup! I totally get why you do what you do. Very cool! The Two-Notes are pretty amazing!

Going to a gig without a real amp would just feel weird. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

99% of a typical live audience don't give a flying fart where the sound is sourced from, what kind of guitar yer playing, how fast you can play, how fancy yer playing is, whether or not yer tone is exactly like the original artist's, whether or not yer playin a Strat when doing a Pink Floyd cover or a Les Paul when doing a GunsNRoses cover and so on and so. They could give a two SHITS! If yer playin such that the audience is diggin it, then yer golden.

I love valve amps too. My neighbours on the other hand prefer a more digital solution. Been looking at a £300-500 pedal type thingy that does amp sim, modest effects and doesn't sound like a bag of cats. I'm open to suggestion.

I'm in love with my HX Stomp. It does pretty everything and is around £400. I highly recommend trying one out. :)

in my opinion when most of the old dinosaus have died off the young bucks learning to play will use simulators as they are more robust and mostly cheaper.

I can see where you're coming from! Young players do seem to favour digital. But maybe as they get older and valves are more affordable they'll make a shift. Too early to tell. 🤔
