"Service is lasting." I often feel I have not made much out of my life. And then I am reminded of when I was a nanny. Totally untrained, yet, the children's parents told me their kids had never responded so warmly to previous nanny's as they did to me. Years later when I dog-sat, again, I was told the same thing. The dogs' owners said they'd never known their dog to go so crazy with excitement when they saw me. Knowing I gave love to the best of my ability and made some kids/some dogs happy and safe and feel valued- knowing that is enough for me, in spite of my lack of qualifications.

On January 9th, 2020 I attended a leadership training through my work and I was asked to "identify a leader I admire and respect for their accomplishments and why do I respect this person"? I write down Oprah Winfrey and while I wrote down a number of things why I respect her I had to go back and add one more thing which is huge for me and that is her 'Spiritual Awareness'. Wow Oprah...you are truly spiritually connected and have lived out that connection for the world to see...that's why you are the leader I admire. I hope to one day meet you in person!
