Thank you, Mandi! If possible, you should revisit this video a few years down the road to see what tropes gained and lost value/marketability.

This is a really great use for Publisher Rocket that I had never even considered. Thanks!

What an interesting idea - thank you so much for taking us through the process! I haven't purchased Publisher Rocket yet. As a super duper new author, I've been waiting for a bit more money to come in first, and also watching to see whether they ever do sales, but this is even more incentive to sign up and do some research on the genres I'm currently writing in. Thanks again!

Hi, Mandi. I just subscribed to your channel. I always like learning more about creative types. Being a writer myself, and hopeful to become a published author. I did request from my library your first book, Essence. Looking forward to reading it. It's my hope that I learn as much as I can with authors, and entrepreneurs like yourself. 😉

This is great! But why not create a default formula and if the cells reach certain rates they are colored in for you? 😅 seems it would be easier but i never thought of using publisher rocket like this! Thanks for sharing!

Thank you, Mandi Lynn. Very interesting data. Made me wonder if there was some kind of formula that could be applied across those numbers to come up with a new column that highlights the best overall categories. I guess my only comment to the contrary is to be careful about chasing trends. And trends do change. If an author is so good that she/he can shift gears easily to slip into another trope, great. But writing the story the author wants to tell should, in my view, never take a back seat to chasing trends. I have read so many recently published romance novels that just left me "meh" at the end of the story. On the other hand, I recently read (and then re-read) a romance written in 2000 that was just fantastic and emotional. Lastly, I never really "got" the whole billionaire trope - like, it almost screams that the heroine is attracted to money, big houses, boats, helicopters ... stuff. Seems antithetical to the real basis of romance - finding true love. Anyway, well done on your research.

Thank you for all of your hard work on this. I know this had to have taken a ton of time. I'll definitely download it. I have been considering publisher rocket. I need to get my butt in gear and get that :)

Thank you Mandi! I have Publisher Rocket but I haven’t used it in a long time. This video and your explanation was sooo helpful!! I will definitely use it more now! You’re right, the Billionaire Romance trope sounds interesting after looking at those numbers!☺️

What is the average words per page? That gives the word count better to gauge (words X pages).

I feel like a billionaire boss taking an intern or employee or client on a work trip and then then getting stranded together or separated in the wilderness (cue hiking) would be really fun to read from you haha I’m a fantasy writer but love your channel and journey into contemporary romance via your channel 😂 so take THAT with a grain of salt.

I would think military and romance is of interest as many people have their significant other in the military. The billionaire one reminds me of the movie Pretty Woman. Great content!

I'm surprised about both billionaire and military romance. I may have to write a series in both subgenres.
