Another beautiful garden tour Steph! I cant garden and get out as much as I used too. I cherish these videos as they transport me to a beautiful garden for the time I'm watching. Thank you so much ❤
So glad you showed the bathrooms. It truly is a spot that shouldn’t be missed on your visit. The ones inside the conservatory are A destination for sure.
Thanks Steph for the wonderful tour. Even though I live in MA, I took an annual membership of Longwood gardens last year and visited multiple times along with my husband. It was totally worth it. We were, however, unable to visit when the roses were in bloom, and so this video was just so right for me . The gardens are transformed every season and are truly a Disneyland for gardeners. Their Mum festival during the fall and Christmas displays are not to be missed. We had also taken annual membership for the New York Botanical Gardens and used to visit NYBG on our way to Longwood gardens. The NYBG membership also allowed us to visit Winterthur gardens in PA and the Brooklyn Botanical gardens free. The Christmas train show at the NYBG is spectacular. Check out the details of the train show online. Almost 200 NY iconic landmarks are made of plant materials. Do try to visit if you have not done so yet.
My husband just said, "you're having a beer?" I said, "yes, my garden lady friend just told me to grab a drink & enjoy her Longwood gardens video!" 😅😂 He said he went there with his parents many moons ago. He said I would love it there! Gorgeous! Thanks Steph, I enjoyed the lovely happy hour!
Hi Joyce! Thanks for watching. I hope you get to go soon. Its a beautiful garden to visit. While you are in the area, check out Chanticleer as well. ua-cam.com/video/73Dc4T6wyzE/v-deo.htmlsi=unHUR8JDZpcOPEe7
Watching this tour just makes me want to go and play in the dirt. Little too soon here in Michigan though. Did just go out and sprinkle some Liquid Fence granules on my gardens as I caught the deer out there the other morning chewing on my crocuses... Busted those little rascals. Thanks for fifteen minutes of pure enjoyment Steph!
Hi Pat! I agree. Its been raining all week and I also can't wait to get outside to start doing some things. Its felt like a long winter. Oh yes, the deer population has exploded. I read a stat that read that a herd used to be on average about 5 deer, it is now 15 😯Thank you so much for watching, so glad you enjoyed. Its almost spring! 🌱
I am so blessed to live so close to Longwood Gardens. We visit often and in every season. Christmas is also simply magical. A very special place! Thanks for highlighting it on your video. ❤😊
Wow, you did an amazing job capturing the beauty of Longwood Gardens. We went last year at the end of April to see the spring bulbs. Now I have to go back in the summer! Thank you for sharing. It was so relaxing.
Hi Carla! Thank you so much. Another commenter mentioned their tulip display being beautiful, so I can imagine it was just as stunning in Spring. I agree, super relaxing to visit gardens 💚
Thank you SO much for showing this. I live on the other side of the country and only had half a day at Longwood years ago ... missing some areas. I LOVED seeing it through your camera eye ... even those gorgeous restroom doors. Isn't that a trip?
Hi Karen! What I fell in love with the most was the way they used living walls. The clipped hedges of evergreens and how they were so strategically placed to create a sense of mystery as you went around each corner. I love the idea that you can't see the whole garden in one glimpse, and don't know what's waiting around the corner. Having a large open suburban yard makes it difficult to envision creating areas like this. Its something I hope to explore more for my own spaces as time goes on. Thank you so much for asking, and for watching 💚
One of my favorite places…my son and his family lived in Kennett Square for a few years…now lives in northern Delaware about a 30 minute drive from Longwood. We usually visit the evening after Thanksgiving for the spectacular Christmas light display.
Oh Steph. This is wonderful!! I visited Longwood 30 years ago and it has been a highlight of my garden experience. Thank you so much for sharing. I will be going to my annual trip to Briggs Nursery soon and am so looking forward to another gardening year,
Hi Alice! It was a beautiful place. I'm so glad you also enjoyed and its left a fond memory. I'm looking forward to heading to Briggs in the coming months also, and like you, also looking forward to another gardening season. Enjoy your Briggs Trip, Alice 💚
Hi Steph, thanks for the beautiful garden tour. Absolutely love the water fountains. Would you and your garden assistant consider doing a water feature? Maybe a pond or small fountain or pond with waterfall. I'm getting crazy here. Thanks again for sharing with us. I'm grateful for your videos.
Thanks to you for posting this video. So lovely beautiful garden. So much colorful , greens, variety of fountains list goes on. Can spend days together in that garden i guess. Thanks again for showing us around.
Beautiful tour for this rainy day we had! We’re members at Longwood and make multiple trips there throughout the year. So glad you were able to experience it! You need to make a trip there in the Spring, the tulip display is just stunning!
Beautiful, Sreph, thanks so much. My nephew graduated from Longwood's two year Professional Horticulture Program. Learned some incredible information and a great profession. He's done well. Thanks again.
Hi Carol! I agree, they had very beautiful plant combinations. Hope you get to visit soon! Include chanticleer on your list also. There was also mt. cuba but we didn't get to make it there. The Morris Arboretum was great also, and had a beautiful rose garden and whimsical railroad display.
Goes out and buys a fake flower at the dollar store. Inspired to be poor and not have a garden while looking at gardens that cost millions? I guess this is inspiration for the rich.
Hi Emma, We can takes little pockets of inspiration for our smaller gardens. For example, If there was a combination of 2 or 3 plants you really liked, you can take note of those, and slowly add them to your garden. You can buy 1 perennial plant and split it a couple of years later. Gardens can be built slowly over time with plant divisions and with plants that are given to us by other gardeners. You don't have to be rich to enjoy a garden. Each person can buy plants they can afford, and work with the space they have to make something that makes them happy. 🌱
