Sorry, at that point he set the tone for the fight. Why would Izzy fall for that obvious trap vs a guy with Romero’s power? He could of fought of his back foot trying to force Izzy in, he could of played with angles to get into a clinch or takedown, he could of done literally anything else besides stand there and shell up thinking that was a good idea to win a fight. Neither deserved to win but in a fight like that it’s going back to the Champ all day.
I'll never understand why Paulo just stood there and ate the kicks. He never even tried checking them or catching it. Just stood there with his short arms, and waited for a chance to engage that Israel never gave him. It's so obvious his only chance of beating Israel was making the fight a brawl. If I was Paulo the first thing ima do is at least attempt a takedown just to throw him off.
@Kai bruh are you really comparing Khabibs takedowns with Paulo literally just standing there? It's not a matter of skill, It's a matter of poor preparation (in the case of Paulo). Paulo could've done more than just stand there. That's a fact. He never even tried making it competitive. Which is why I said he shouldve tried a takedown early. Israel hasn't fought a guy with good wrestling yet. That's why he's afraid of Jon Jones. Cuz he knows Jon's wrestling is so good that he'll whoop his ass on the feet with the threat of it. Jon called him out practically the whole year and Israel's response was like "I want to clean out my division like Anderson Silva before moving up" but then soon as Jon vacates Israel shows his true colours.
Perks of being the champ. When you want the belt you need to beat the champ. Had it been a draw Izzy would still rightfully have the belt. Dana was right, aside from the yoel fans sucking him off, dude had so many consecutive shots at the title and at this fight he failed to perform. I lost some respect for Yoel after he just allowed himself to lose like that without ever really going all out and taking some chances and then, and then he does like 50 push ups afterwards like "look guys this is how not hard I was trying to win, I have all this energy left that I did not use to try to win the fight". What a special warrior Romero is. In 7 years in the company he never became a champion. He lost 4 of his last 5 fights. Due to old age he has also lost his knockout power. Izzy in less than 2 years became UFC champion and he still remains the undisputed middleweight champion. He is now going for the light heavyweight belt. His MMA record remains flawless, 20-0 including 15KO/TKO. He destroyed both Whittaker and Playboy Costa in just 2 rounds by KO & TKO. Both Whittaker and Romero roughed up and defeated Romero in a combined 13 rounds, 3 fights. Romero is a retired and expired soldier, I don’t like delusional and perpetual losers that claim to be warriors.
@@johnnysherburne66 Yoel was powerful in the past when he was much younger. The dude has lost his knock out power. His best effort earns him a knock down when he is lucky but afterward all he does to his opponent is massage instead of securing a KO, TKO or submission which should follow after a knock down. His last 3 fights at UFC are there to backup my claim.
People try and say Izzy did exactly what he was supposed to do and that Yoel should've went forward but whenever he did Izzy would straight up run to the whole other side of the cage 😂
Were the old man’s legs tied by the way? Izzy landed more significant strikes (48), than Romero (40). How come he was running and yet landing more significant strikes? Romero is now an expired old man. When he is lucky, his best shot earns him a knock down but afterwards he does nothing but massage instead of securing a KO, TKO o submission.
@Andres Garza I guess you're trying to say Izzy has some holes in his game. Sure. But to say he is not as great as his hype as absurd at this point. He has proved himself time after time. Imo he handled Romero perfect. When Romero never found the ko the point decision was home.
Yeah this fight was weak I literally stopped watching after round 2 it was so lame I knew izzy was going to win but he was not backing up the talk in this fight smh
@Andres Garza I'm not the least emotionally invested in Adesanya lol. But Izzy won the fight. Maybe Romeros age experience wasn't enough considering how he has not been able to pull through a single championship fight. Guess he was robbed every fight. Btw Romero left UFC so I doubt we see a rematch. Would gladly watch it though. Whenever Izzy loses it will surely be glorious I assume, or perhaps anticlimactic with a decision but I think Izzy is tough to win over with points.
@Andres Garza Listen I like Romero as well. Amazing fighter. I don't agree that UFC necessarily worked against him. He has a huge fan following and looks like a cartoon superhero. I don't see how all of his last 3 losses are contradicting the judging criteria. Of course the UFC prefer a young champion to having Romero as its Dana White after all. I think some of Romeros antics as well as his somewhat low output bit his ass decision wise. That's just how it is regarding the judging criteria (which I don't like, I preferred the system in Pride FC although it was a bit complex at times..)
Which young talent did he destroy? The expired old man was just a gatekeeper in the division. The dude lost 4 of his last 5 fights. The dude also lost his knockout power and gasses out really fast. It’s not a coincidence that in 7 years he never won a belt at UFC. Didn’t Whittaker destroy his orbital bone? Romero really aged seriously after that fight.
@@mmamogul501 Romero was highly competitive in all his fights and arguably won a lot of them. He's fighting the best in the world at 40+ years old. @@Phaminator525 Romero lost 4 of his last 5 fights and hence was tossed out of UFC. You can keep arguing as long as you want, but that wouldn’t change the fact that he was 1-4 in his last 5 before being chased out by Dana White. Unfortunately for him, there is no veteran division in UFC. Division are separated by sex and weight, not by age. Being an aged gatekeeper cost him his job at UFC. There are other less competitive promotions out there for men of his age. He didn’t win a belt because of indiscipline and having conmen as cornermen. What Romero couldn’t do (win a belt) in almost 7 years at UFC, Izzy did it in less than 2 years. In just 2 rounds, Izzy knocked out the other 2 guys (Whittaker and Costa) that beat Romero up in 3 fights (13 rounds).
What else did you expect when a delusional challenger entered the octagon expecting the champion to play the role of a challenger? Garrett Hoe he did, fighting like you want the strap doesn’t always mean being aggressive, he did what he thought was best and sure in hindsight he for sure should have been way more aggressive and if he had been he probably could have knocked out adesanya IMO. @@Fiteclipz actually I feel Izzy is kinda a tough puzzle to solve, especially for a veteran like Yoel, that's why he may have fought the way he fought. Izzy is a great counter puncher (the way he took out Bobby) so probably Yoel showed lesser hunger/ aggression...

Izzy was the champion. When you’re the champ you don’t change what you do for a challenger. The challenger is the one that’s supposed to do everything he can to get the W. Especially someone like Yoel who was on his last chance

@@MrRemixV3 he couldnt close the distance without getting countered. I think he did not know what to do Inside the cage

Izzy’s muscles are turbocharged charged, without consuming much gas they deliver incredible horsepower. In case you didn’t know, now you know. Having big muscles alone doesn’t guarantee huge horsepower.
Izzy on the other hand has turbocharged knockout power. We saw the devastating effect in had on both Whittaker and Costa, finishing both fights in the 2nd round by KO and TKO respectively. Romero had 13 rounds to defeat both guys, but his punches always lacked the finishing power. He ended up losing all 3 fights against them.
One thing I can assure of is that if that ONE punch you talked of had originated from Izzy, it would have sent retired Romero to the canvas instantly
@@nemebrem4724 Everything you wrote is a load of crap, which is not surprising considering you're an Izzy fanboy. One punch from Romero was all it took for Izzy to run around the cage, clearly he was afraid of Romero's explosive power or at least respecting it. Izzy even said when he was hit he saw three Romero's, it clearly hurt and dazed him even if it didn't knock him out.
Romero has an insane chin, he eats head-kicks like they're nothing. Izzy ain't knocking Romero out even with his hardest head-kick. He knocked out Whittaker because Bobby Knuckles doesn't have a very good chin, he charged in and got clipped.
ua-cam.com/video/0bLi-6SeErw/v-deo.html
Izzy talked shit in the lead-up to the fight wanting to be the first to stop Romero and didn't deliver. Because you can't, unless you're Francis Ngannou or Rumble Johnson. Even when Romero loses he is still highly competitive and dangerous, like Dan Henderson was when he was still fighting.
@@madgavin7568 Romero is already washed I repeat. Due to old age his punches are cushioned. Romero has not knocked out any body in his last 13 rounds of 3 fights.
Your claim is totally senseless, if Whittaker had such a delicate chin how como Romero's cushioned punches couldn't knock him out in 10 rounds and yet Izzy easily did it at the end of round 1 and then nailed the coffin in the 2nd round which happened to be Whittaker first and only KO defeat in his carrer?
Have you forgotten Rafael Cavalcante brutally knock out Romero and also fractured his cervical spine?
Have you forgotten that Whittaker also fractured Romero's orbital bone?
Whittaker beat Romero the 2 times they fought, but Izzy knocked him out in just 2 rounds.
Pauli Costa also beat Romero when they fought, but Izzy brutally landed him a TKO defeat in just 2 round. That happened to be his first and only defeat in his MMA career.
Brilliant work
Dude ran faster then Usain Bolt.
You can see it in his eyes the moment the referee raised his hand, he was surprised. I get its a terrible fight but Adesanya lost that one.
adesanya 18-1 that time, he knows it! but judges is blinded...
I want someone to explain to me how did he win
Surviving Romero is a win
love the music
u the man uncle chael
When he said that twin tower Part that just made me 🤭😶
Acting liking flying around , doing media and training is “hard work” is comedy gold.
You’re saying he doesn’t work hard? Are you dumb?
Acting like training and dedication to diet isn't hard work is comedy gold. The amount these guys sacrifice and how much hard work they put to become top level athletes is insane.
@@joebloggs6922 indeed
It’s satisfying to see Romero land that overhand left after hearing about Gynosanya’s comment on the twin towers
wosh wats with the 9/11 jokes nd u couldn’t stop him properly 😂😂😂
The UFC should really consider signing Romero. I bet Adesanya VS Romero would be a BANGER!
romero got robbed
@@winterrys that's not how mma scoring works at all. It's to win at least 3/5 rounds, or stopping your opponent by KO or sub. A clear example is Jones v Reyes. It's not supposed to be a situation where you have to dominate or stop them to win.
@@hellowang74 i know but you can never leave a fight like that in the judges hands. Look at the holloway volk. Fight i scored max winning and still they gave it to volk.
@@hellowang74 bro you’re not going to fight 1 minute out of 25 minutes and expect to beat the champion.
@@winterrys mate, this "to be the champ you have to beat the champ" thing is nonsense. You think fighters dont go in there wanting to finish their opponents? You dont "leave the fight in the hands of the judges". Sometimes thats just how it turns out.
@@joshuaalach9431 I agree
Izzy was trying to make Yoel strike first in the beginning, wasn't happening.
Selective editing here! Izzy mutilated Romero’s legs! Romero didn’t do enough to win. AND STILL
@@Teletramx Nah.
Awesome video uncle chael !
“if you wanna go see running go watch usain bolt”
Wow... Romero was sooo great at standing at the center if the octagon in this fight... the UFC had to cut him off their roster... 🤷♂️
And Izzy at running? Lmao 🤣 got hit and social distancing mode got activated cause he ran around Yoel while he was in the center
@@JM-it2zo the UFC clearly arent against social distancing (as you put it) since they didnt cut Izzy off.

yoel romero won that fight
Lol
Only in your mind. All 3 judges saw him lose 47-48, 46-49 & 47-48.
@@nemebrem4724 from the look of it Yoel beat Izzys ass.
Man if Jan B goes all out like Romero with the pressure and power I truly think Adesanya is gonna be in big danger
"you had a chance to smell him" wtf is that interviewer on about
this was pointless as Romero didnt do anything himself
But when romero was putting the pressure, izzy 🏃🏃🏃 knowing his gas tank and the skill set of izzy yoel did not risk on preying izzy resulting to a bs fight

If they removed points for every second spent running away, Izzy would have a negative score in this fight
How come Izzy ran so much but he still managed to secured much more significant strikes (48) that the dancing tortoise Romero (40)?
Don’t let this crap edited video fool you, if not when a similarly edited copy of Izzy - Brunson come out you will also believe Izzy ran away from Brunson
@@nemebrem4724 ooh a whole 8 strikes over a 25 minute match, what a difference lmao. Do you hear yourself? You're making that out as a decisive victory when it was anything but. Ring control used to count for something, if they're using your criteria of simply counting strikes then they're incompetent judges.
@@blamberton7893 8 strikes advantage looks little to you right? Do you realize that was 20% advantage over what Romero did? If 8 is so little how come Romero had just 40 in 25 minutes and Izzy 48? Romero didn’t control no ring in that fight, he only made some casuals think he was really doing something meaningful, but that wasn’t the case. Go watch the fight over and over again, you will obviously upgrade your perception of the fight.
In the co-main event of the night Joanna Jedrzejczyk landed 186 significant strikes, which mean she was a very serious challenger that was really hungry for the belt. Lousy Romero was only able to connect 40. It took Romero more than 2 minutes into the fight to attempt his first strike, does that show any sign of seriousness from an old that was given his last shot at the belt even when he didn’t deserve it?
If the judges scored the fight 48-47, 49-46, 48-47 and you are still blindly arguing and calling them incompetent, you are obviously a blatant casual. Romero was more hurt after the fight, didn’t you see how hurt his lower limbs were?
Simple logic will tell you Izzy is far superior. The same top dudes (Whittaker and Costa) that defeated Romero in a combined 13 rounds (3 fights) got humiliated by Izzy both in just 2 rounds by KO and TKO.
Whittaker suffered his first and only professional MMA career KO defeat at the hands of Izzy. Costa also suffered his first and only professional MMA career defeat at the hands of Izzy and it was via a humiliating TKO defeat.
Romero got rusticated from the company after 7 years with a 1-4 record in his last 5 fights and he never won a belt. Izzy on the other hand in less than 2 year became champion (and still remains the MW champion). He is now going for the LHW belt.
@@nemebrem4724 no one is going to read that lmao especially when you can't even do math, you want a 16.6% there lmao not 20. But Sure, suck off Izzy some more, I'm sure he notices and loves you for it.
@@blamberton7893 why are you exposing your ignorance? 8 is 20% of 40. Do you need a calculator to get that right, or do I need to send you back to primary school to learn arithmetic?
The truth is bitter, but that is what will set you free.
Numbers don’t lie, although I now know you have issues with numbers. Izzy has a perfect MMA record of 20-0 including 15KO/TKO.
Your pal Romero has a record of 13-5 including 11KO/TKO wins and 1 KO defeat. The dude has lost 4 of his last 5 fights (including 3 in a row). One can insinuate with this statistics that he is either expired or on the verge of expiration . One could also insinuate that he has lost or he is about to lose his knockout power due to old age. The best his effort gets of recent is knock down, but thereafter instead of finishing the fight by KO, TKO or submission, he begins to massage his opponent until he recovers and gets up. The great Anderson Silva started his depreciation like that until he recorded only 1 win in his last 9 fights. Romero is different though, in almost 7 years at UFC, he never became a champion, whereas Silva was champion for almost 7 years.
Izzy is number 3 on the pound per pound ranking, while Romero is inexistente on the list.
Give honor to whom it is due. Adesanya has diligently worked for it, so this is time to relax.
He felt one hit and turned into mayweather lol
Didn't really go wrong. He still got the belt
Rip to whoever bought this fight
Weili vs Joanna was worth it though
@@user-ng1eh8wh1c casuals don’t care, you know how they are
What's sad is that if Romero was more active he very well could've dethroned Adesanya.
Nope he would've been countered and would've gassed out. That's why Yoel stood still
Dude stood still for a reason... that was his best chance. Costa (who beat Romero at his game) showed what happens when a ninja turtle comes out of the shell.
What is this "spider workout" that he was referring to at 2:16?
Bro was scared the whole fight !
I didn't watch that fight especially after hearing how boring it was but watching the highlights it was clear that Yoel was coming forward and Izzy was scared to death. The way everyone was talking I thought Yoel wasn't doing anything, I see why he wasn't, Izzy was too busy running like a track star.
From what I just saw, shouldn’t have Romero won the fight?
Outpointed him but apparently 'to be the champ you gotta beat the champ' horse shit if you ask me
This was all one sided editing. Now watch the one with izzy editing so many leg kicks.
Not its just highlights of Romero's moments
Izzy played the point game after he saw he couldn't do what he was saying before the fight 🤣
Only thing that went right during this fight is the fact he said he outclassed him because I’ll be damned if he did anything else
Izzy has great Barnnie Rubble foot work shuffling his feet doing the Fred Flynn stone tripping falling scrambling and I couldn’t help but notice Izzy doing the running man then he was back to shuffling everyday shuffling...
