i am a german citizen who happened to be working in kyiv in february. i really don’t think anyone can predict what will happen, but i must say the willingness of the entire nation to support their army or fight themselves is something i have not seen in the modern day. you can feel the intensity of their love for their country. they have suffered tremendously this last century (including from my country) and have a saying “every generation must know their own suffering and be birthed in fire”
it may be surprising to the world to see them fight this courageously, but to us who know Ukrainians, they are simply being the heroes we knew they always were.

Why don't you tell how these brave men bombed their own civilians who didn't agree with the coup in 2014? About over 14 000 of elderly people, women, children, killed by them so you NATO countries could keep milking Russian resources for free? Hoping that you'd share these "democratically earned" resources with them, which of course you would not, we both know. Let's see how the winter goes, maybe there'll be another coup, this time in your country, so you can feel what they feel, and what Russian people felt in the 90s.

The fight against Russia is literally a fight against Fascism. Look up Sergey Glazyev, he was a direct advisor to Putin, and is a proponent of the Eurasian project. If it sounds familiar, Dugin basically crafted Eurasian Imperialism. This guy is a Commissioner for the Eurasian Economic Council, which is the executive body for the Eurasian Economic Union. Essentially, a fascist that talked about a New World Order, literally even mentioning George Soros back in 1999, heads a part of Russia's imperialist answer to the EU.

This is very well done, but it came out yesterday and is ALREADY out of date. Izium and Kupiansk have been liberated in the last 24 hours. The Ukrainians have gained over 1,000 square km in the last week alone. They have retaken more ground in one week than the Russians have taken in the last 3 months. Russia is losing between 350-500 troops a day. They have lost more than 52,000 soldiers KIA in 6 months. For comparison the US had 58,000 KIA in 10 years in Vietnam. That does not include DPR, LPR, Wagner mercs or Chechens. The Pentagon has said they believe the real numbers to be 2-3x higher than reported bc the Russians put the DPR, LPR, Wagner group and Chechens on the front line. Around 20,000 Russians are cut off in Kherson region. There were 20,000 Russian troops cut off in and around Izium but they seem to have fled overnight leaving all their equipment for Ukrainians to take. Millions of $ worth of equipment, Tanks, APC's, anti-tank weapons, mines, small arms, entire buildings stocked full of ammo, body armor, even food and medicine etc. Literally everything you need to continue an offensive. Crazy how fast things change during this WAR.

Don’t exaggerate the fatigue just because life is going on. Even Ukrainians feel the fatigue. Many people who fled the country at first have gone back in because they feel the west of their country is safe. Many Ukrainians don’t go down into the bomb shelters at every air raid siren that goes off now. We have all adapted to the war but it’s not off of everyone’s mind. And I don’t know anyone who thinks it’s done or close to done yet. Just think she’s exaggerating this point a lot, and she’s definitely generalizing about Americans way too much.

The opening of this video where they are being interviewed was very poorly timed, considering in 8 days Ukraine has recaptured almost double the territory that Russia gained over the last 2 months. Russia is not succeeding. Their troops are demoralized and their units have been decimated. Ukraine is consistently launching close air support missions in the Kherson region and using their newly gained artillery, both rocket and conventional, to destroy Russian supplies. Ukraine is moving to cut off major supply routes and capture key routes to starve Russia out with winter right around the corner. I imagine towards the end of the winter, it will be a drastically different conflict, with Russians being pushed back and losing most of what they gained over the last 6 months. The only option Russia has is to send more untrained men into the meat grinder with 1970's weapons. We could see over 100,000 dead Russian soldiers by the end of the winter. Most recent number I saw was close to 50,000 dead Russians. That does not include wounded.

To be clear: This war started when Russia invaded in 2014 and illegally occupied Crimea and Donbas. The Ukrainian military was exposed as ill prepared, ill equipped and totally untrained. Since then the Ukrainian military has reinvented itself with help from the west but largely to their own interests and desire to remain independant and to retake their land.
In 2012, Ukrainians had no interest in the EU or NATO. Then the Maidan happens and Russia invades when their stooge Yanukovich is chased into Belarus. Then the Ukrainians are much more interested in joining the EU and NATO and as of 2022 joining the EU and NATO is not only a priority for Ukrainians but necessary for their existence.
This video was posted on 9/9/2022. Fast forward to 9/12/2022 and Ukraine has liberated Kupiansk, Izyium and all of Kharkiv Oblast while steadily pushing into Kherson.
First western media presumed Ukraine was doomed. Then western media presumed that Ukraine could not last. Now western media are shocked that Ukraine has not only clawed back over 2500 square kilometers of their land back but have soundly routed Russia's entire military pressence in the northwest.
At every time western media cast doubt on Ukrainians ability to defend their lands and fight back and win, the Ukrainians reply with, "Тримай моє пиво."
    Slava Ukraini.

They even went as far as sending fighter jets to bomb the streets of Donetsk city center and its suburbs. Sadly the west supported this new government and its destructive policies, seeing only the opportunity to use the country as a sacrificial tool to “weaken” Russia.

Remnants of fallen Russian soldiers now grown cold
Babushkas now wail over young life now gone
Understanding it not - filling the air with their sad songs
Unlike the valiant poppy soldiers heralded from the past
Who fought and died with honor so that freedom could last
These Russian deaths stead serve the ambition of a few
Squandered life knowing no reasons - no hope - only rue
For tyrants dream not of lost lives thrown away
Only glory and wealth for which others must pay
O' Mother Russia! - you must answer her call!
Til one sad day in Ukraine you will fall
Thus sunflowers take root in lost dreams now turned cold
Which were thrown away in feckless dreams of the bold
For a flower cares not for glory nor Motherland calls
Only a peaceful place to take root where the fruit of youth falls
Neither life not glory will these lost ever now know
Fields of gold have replaced them now - wild flowers from the cold
Ere the flowers of fallen youth bid you carry our seeds
We will follow those vanquished - their fallen hopes serve our need

Edit: the whole concept of this video is that there is supposedly a “new phase” of the war in which Russia is no longer terrible at waging war and retreating from previously held ground. They released it at the worst possible time in the context of Ukraine’s recent liberation of the most amount of territory gained the most quickly by either side in this war for months. This video totally missed the “new phase”, because it is about the previous several months spent by journalists who aren’t even in Ukraine anymore, where the Ukrainians were goading the Russians into depleting all their ammo and supplies while making surgical strikes at their supply lines, infrastructure, air defense, and command structure, in preparation for the real “new phase”, the counteroffensive, which we are seeing now.

This sounds silly, but I think the Ukraine thing is a huge leap forward to the anti war movement. It shows how "the free world" will support the sovereign integrity of a country not officially part of NATO. This is great progress. It may even have stopped China attacking Taiwan and NK attacking SK.
