Dude! 99.9% of Flosstube are proper people that don't drink or cuss (at least not on UA-cam). We love you BECAUSE you aren't the norm. You are a breath of fresh air and those that don't like your cussing can go find another channel. Please be you! And, screw those that only want to see stitching. I love to get to know the people here on Flosstube. I don't care if you stitch or not...just talk to me while I stitch.
Darcy, I've been meaning to watch this ever since you put it out! Glad you've got so many viewers that I'm lost in that vast ocean. 😁 I finally watched the WHOLE episode today and wish you luck on your new bobbin system! That's my fave. Yeah, four organizers fits the whole DMC color set. Absolutely loved seeing the progress on your Cresent mooooooooon man. 😍 Your colorful full coverage piece for your inner little girl.... I'm in love ! Your set of bobbins in your organizer for that piece almost had me misty eyed. The beautiful organization + amazing colors. 🥲
You'd never get lost in the ocean, I always know when you're here!! 😂 But yes, this one got way more views than is typical for me in just a 10 day period. I wish I knew why so I could do it every time 😂 I'm loving the bobbins. I feel bad now that I said I hated bobbins. Hopefully they're not too offended 😂
I love Emma too! I am using flossaway bags and then i’ve just started creating my own flossdrops and cutting roughly what i need for each project. So hard to choose the right system!
I just found your channel, I was one of your 'just stumbled onto this' and you are fab! I was laughing along. there was not much stitching while watching you. I'm hooked. oh and your stitching is great too.
That’s it. I’m going to bobbinate now. The sound alone they make clicking against the plastic box has me like ❤️. I love crinkling, zipping, clicking, rustling - bring it on. [tangent over] Subscribing 💪🏻💃
I love a long rambly video, great company for stitching. I use bobbins, when I finish a project I just re-amalgamate them into one big collection, like you said almost creating a master set. I keep my many extras in a bag and when a bobbin runs out I root through the bag to check for spares before buying another one, I'd love to try the peg board idea, but my flosses would end up dusty and even fuller of cat hair than they already are, I'd have to rig up some kind of cover flappy thing ... 🤔 I might try that ...
I commend Past Darcy for tackling his bobbin organization problem with full expectation that Future Darcy will make sure floss chaos continues to reign.
I do love the raven poem and hashtags lol. And it was great to see all your projects and to hear about your floss storage plan. I totally agree with the bobbinating looking so organized and makes pulling floss easy but I find storing half used threads a bit annoying. It is better now that I always pull the same length but I still think it needs a bit of work to reach true floss peace. See you in two or five weeks, Bek (they/them)
Darcy I love bobbinating too! I use one of those big double layer plastic containers from Michaels that holds a full set of DMC (I prefer DMC for just cost and convenience alone). I checked them off of a list as I collected them. When I pull one for a project, I insert a sticky note with the DMC number and project that it's in. Then I always know where that colour is. If I need that colour for a second project, I determine if its just a bit, and then I steal a length for the new project. Or change the project on the sticky note if I steal the whole bobbin. It might be more challenging for a full coverage piece, where you want all the colours with that project. I personally would just have my big container close by to take those colours from and keep them in the big container, to eliminate multiples. I do 95% of my stitching at home anyway. I put a note on my shopping list for the DMC I need to replenish, so I don't run out. This has worked flawlessly for me for the last year and a half. I feel like I solved my most annoying problem with stitching! I wish I could show you a picture on UA-cam, but you are a smart guy and can figure out what I mean. Good Luck and keep chatting about ANYTHING. I'm here for it all!
I love your videos. I might be unusual, but I find videos that only talk about cross stitch to be a little dry. I want to feel like I’m listening to a friend, not watching a news report. 🤣
Great video, that hashtag is hilarious 😂 Your shop is looking amazing, you're doing so well in creating such fab designs, they're really imaginative and clever. I can totally feel your excitement over the floss storage. I have a Pinterest board where I hoard fantastic craft room and storage designs, I love seeing what other people come up with. I love those huge fold out cupboards that have everything in, if only I had a bigger house 😄 I look forward to to your next video, especially the 5 week one 😀
Just found your videos. You Crack me up, also I get 2 things done at once, because my heart rate was racing just listening to you. It's my new cardio 🤪 see you at your next video. I will have to go back and watch some of your other videos. But I am an old lady, and my heart can only take so much at a time. So I will pace my self. 🥰🤣
OMG! I am a first time viewer. I love your video! So vibrant! I love everything. A big shout out to your 100 stitches. They look great! I can't help with the floss. I like the bobbins system too much. I try to get my leftovers in a bigger organizer and I go there first to kit my new projects. Since this video only 6 days old, I only have 8 days for a new video from you, which I am looking forward to. Happy Stitching!
First time watcher and I subscribed! Not much for f bombs but your stitching is incredible! And I love that you’re stitching for your mother! And you remind me of my nephew who I adore! Thank you!
Hi Darcy, I've been spending the last couple weeks catching up with all your videos (I kinda fell off around Christmas, oopsies). I have 2 double-sided bobbin boxes of the complete solid DMC set, including colors 1-35, and it works amazing for me. I use them for all of my full coverage projects so that I don't have any leftovers, and when I kit up non-full coverage projects, I have a place to store leftover floss when I'm finished. I used to have the smaller bobbin boxes, but I was using five of them and they seemed to take up more space and were more clunky than it was worth. If you really don't want the bobbin boxes, there is a seller on Etsy that sells binders to keep bobbins in and taller boxes to keep floss drops in, and it's enough to have a complete DMC set! I'm loyal to by double-sided boxes, though. Since you're designing, I find the DMC floss card EXTREMELY helpful. It has the actual threads of DMC wound on the card, and they're in color order, so it's super easy to see and compare at a glance the colors you're looking for, and you can be confident you'll get the look you intend since designing programs might not always be true to color. Hope this is helpful and I didn't sound too much like an ad, lol.
Enjoyed seeing all your progress (even if they just a few stitches into them) love the vibe of your video's, Floss tubes that give updates on life as well as what they are working on be it cross stitch or any craft they like to do can't wait for your next video
Oh floss storage. I just bit the bullet and ordered the Pip N Chip floss drop storage. I cant wait to order the boxes to add the trays to. The DMC storage containers you got. Soooo neat. It would be cool to hang them by a rod in the closet.
Great progress on your projects. I put my DMC on bobbins & keep them numerically in a Matchbox car case. Not sure if they are available anymore. The extras go in a tin, & I add them as needed. We need to see Melissa's projects also. Marilyn
I have a John Shannon in my cart.. it’s super, think it’s called day/night, I’m prepared for the confetti 😵💫 Hope you keep at it 😀 Have a good weekend 🥳
That’s what I said ! I like long flosstube and all the rambling because you get to know this person as a human 😍😍😍 i yes changing what to watch ever 20 minutes is like grrrrrrr oh well ! Long videos please and thank you
I leave for 5 minutes and and all hell breaks loose. Cussing and not cussing, floss storage shenanigans, and whatever else I’ve managed to forget about cause I just didn’t take any notes. If you’re in the mood for a FB rabbit hole, go find the group “Cross Stitch Storage Ideas and Solutions” You’ll find all the floss storage ideas you never knew you needed 😂
Hi Darcy , another awesome video, I love long videos, you are so so entertaining and funny, I love having a laugh and always look forward to your videos. I feel your pain with the confetti I’m doing a haed which is really confetti heavy like your moon but I’m enjoying it I think you just have to be in the right mood to do it, your moon is looking amazing. When you played the strange music to your sunflower one my cat shot across the room 😂 take care and happy stitching xx
Thank you!! It's hard to tell, but that music was The Beatles' "Yesterday" from a channel called "Shittyflute" where this guy plays famous songs on the flute or recorder and just butchers them. It's really funny. 😂
i have a complete set in drawers as my long term storage. i have a complete set on bobbins as my working storage. i have floss cards for each project. i cut a length of each floss color i need for a project and put it on the floss card (labeled with dmc number of course). when i need another length of floss i just cut another off of the bobbin and add it to my card. when my bobbin is empty i refill it with a skein from my drawer storage. this keeps me from having several bobbins of the same color floating around and keeps everything organized
I just discovered Flosstube. I've been cross stitching since 1994, probably earlier than that considering my grandmother was a crafter. Honestly, I do not get bothered by talking, unless you're addressing me personally and interrupting my stitching :P :P :P This is fun and I'm subscribing lol.
Love watching you. You are amazing. Your wips look so good. You did make progress ❤️. O hope you have a great couple of weeks, stay safe and happy stitching ❤️
I have a "master set" of bobbinated DMC.. plus a few extras when I've had multiple projects using the same color at once. You're correct - 4 boxes will hold the whole set. I keep the extras in snack-sized bags with an index card in it with the color number. I keep a minimum of two full skeins of each color. I struggle with keeping them ordered in something like the drawers, and I don't have room for peg board. I'd love to have them organized like Amanda from Lucky Chance Stitcher does.. they're easy to see and the wall is so pretty with all of the colors on it!
I just wanted to tell you that because of this video I decided to just do what I want on my videos. Before I tried to mention real quick things going on other than cross stitching but it is my channel and if I want to talk about my family and such I can and people don't have to watch. Thank you! 😊
I love Karen's idea of those little pockets. You could actually put your floss bobbins in their with a full skein and when you need a colour just grab the bobbin to kit it up. You wouldn't need to have several ways to store the skeins. I love it!
I like the life updates, stories, ramblings along with the cross stitch. Nice progress! Glad to see the John Shannon piece again. Seeing your full coverage pieces makes me want to get mine out. Haven't worked on any in awhile. I've got two gifts to finish before August though. Where are the floss drawers you showed from? My son walked in the room at the end of your video when the hashtag was playing. He asked why I wasn't watching the Christopher Lee version instead, and then proceeded to tell me quite a few things I didn't know about Christopher Lee. I'll join you and Mary for Nevermore. Take care.
I love Christopher Lee!! He was so good in The Wicker Man!! The floss drawers are specially made for storing DMC (I think) and you can order them on Amazon. I'm pretty sure they're a small thing of maybe just 5 drawers, but you can buy as many as you need and they're designed to stack on top of each other so it still looks like one set of drawers.
i store my floss by putting each skein in a 3X5 baggie then store them in a clear shoe box with lid, they are labeled on each baggie,,, i hate bobbins cause it creases my floss
I wondered if it was the thumbnail too. It seems like the wip parade videos with a thumbnail of the stitcher holding 50 wips gets a lot of views/promotion also.
All of your WIPS look great! I'm just curious what method you use to start and end a single confetti stitch in your full coverage pieces like the Moon since you don't do the parking madness?
Same. I want to see what you do. I think in a previous video you said you started and stopped for each stitch, but I guess i'm just not sure exactly how that would work, since you have to anchor a bit in the back. Wouldn't it be tough to have enough places to anchor and finish off all that?
I'll try to answer this in my next video! There's a thing called Pin Stitch that a lot of people use to anchor just one stitch. I don't do it that way, but the people who do it seem to like it.
What I’ve learned is there are indeed a lot of “skimmers” watching flosstube - I see it in my own analytics. It doesn’t matter how long or how short the videos are, only 30-50% of their length is watched on average. I used to think a lot of people were like me and watch whole videos while stitching but after creating my own videos I learned that seems to really not be the case, at least when it comes to smaller no name channels of everyday stitchers like me. I think what’s most likely happening, what I’ve come to realize, is most people just don’t have the same amount of time to either stitch or watch flosstube as I do. So most of their time they do have does go to the larger channels and then smaller channels are rather kind of just browsed through. I’m still finding my place in flosstube and trying different adjustments to see what works best for both me and those who watch. That’s really all we can do. 🙂 When I’m watching flosstube I don’t mind if it isn’t entirely about stitching. But I have unsubbed from what used to be some of my favorite channels because they turned into ad programs and I felt like I was watching QVC instead of flosstube anymore. It wouldn’t have been so bad if they’d at least put that stuff at the end. But when it’s 20 minutes of ad crap at the beginning of the videos, and it’s not even stitching related stuff they’re trying to sell, sorry I’m out. 🥴 Maybe that hurts some people’s feelings but 🤷🏻♀️ I said it 😂 I like a wide variety of stitchers and channels so I always have a choice in what I watch. I love what I’ve seen in yours so far, very fun and you make me laugh. Isn’t having a good time the point? 😄 💗Tonya
Keep in mind too that A LOT of people watch Flosstube videos at 1.5x or even double speed, and that affects the "watch time" - if a person watches a 20 minute video at 2x speed, it will count as 10 minutes of watch time even if they actually watched the whole thing. I'm not saying there aren't a lot of skimmers, but I wouldn't take a 50% watch time average as an entirely accurate reflection of how much of your video people actually watched.
@@StitchManDarcy oh wow I didn’t think of that, cause I don’t speed anybody up. Now I’m not going to be able to stop thinking how much I probably sound even more like a hyperactive squirrel than I naturally do 😳😂 Definitely a good thing to keep in mind. 😮
I stick around especially if someone says they didn’t do much stitching - I want to know why, plus maybe there is something else they were doing that might catch my interest! Do people really trash talk flosstubers in fb groups? Because I’m probably sunk - I’m new at it and I’m sure I jibber jabber. I’ll never get to 1000 if that’s the case. 😉 You’re a riot and I really enjoy your channel!
It just goes to show . . . People will bitch about anything and everything given the chance. I’m looking for authenticity. True confession time. I also struggle with DMC storage. I bobbinate them and put them in boxes much like you do. I keep my complete set in those storage containers. However, if I’m doing a small project, I will take off a length or two of thread and put that on a floss drop and then put the drops on a ring. I have a lot of excess floss. If it’s white, ecru, or 310, I bobbinate it. Otherwise it goes in a baggie that is marked with the range of numbers that are in the bag. This works well for me. Stay classy! Have a great couple of weeks.
Not everyone watches flosstube while stitching! I'm watching you with bugs flying around your face while in bed ready to fall asleep lol I do both ... watch flosstubes while stitching in the morning and fall asleep to flosstube!
I love listening to your nonsense! Keep up the f**king nonsense! Also I don’t think I had experienced the delightful recorder rendition of Yesterday before…a special treat. It reminded me to ask if you were familiar with Tom Jones’ recording of Hey Jude which is equally special….
I really like your moon project. Since it is a pain, perhaps you could reduce the length without spoiling the picture, thus, you can finish it sooner with less hassle.
Love the long videos! Also agree I dislike trying to keep finding something to watch when I'm stitching. You should totally do The Raven! Im working on it now and would totally jump on that long ass hashtag bandwagon.
You say Kaylee needs to do more songs for you but it kind of sounds like you just wrote a tiny stitches song for her. Did you practice that lot of little bit spiel? That was impressive
I didn't practice or write down that spiel, it just came out like that 😂 Also, as much as I'd love to take credit for that song, it was actually to the tune of a song Kaylee did for me last year called "Tiny Scissors" 😂
Your songs brighten my day. I sing "tiny scissors" and the flosstube-iversary song all the time while just puttering around my house. 😂 You do need to more for yourself though! Anything you do for me is just an extra treat!
About the flosstube complainers: whenever people say “stick to the stitching” it’s a jab at flosstubers who “discuss politics,” primarily liberal politics. 🙄 Those are the types who want to keep crafts and politics separate
@@StitchManDarcy of course. These are often the same types who say “craftivism isn’t a thing” and mostly tend to fall on one side of the political spectrum.
Wait … why have you invaded my head??? Get out!!!!! Yes, people suck! Loved stitching Love You to Death. I also stitched Nevermore. Poe is in my top 10.
I can't imagine ever getting so angry with anything Floss tube related to complain about it in comments or FB groups. Aside of Noah not uploading any videos for a really long time.

@@StitchManDarcy Thanks. My son loves Christopher Lee also apparently.
i store my floss by putting each skein in a 3X5 baggie then store them in a clear shoe box with lid, they are labeled on each baggie,,, i hate bobbins cause it creases my floss
I think personality is very important for floss tube! Otherwise would be boring
Wouldn't it be tough to have enough places to anchor and finish off all that?
me too, parking makes me a little nuts🤣 too messy looking. I'd love to k ow how you do your full coverage pieces, Darcy. thanks!
When I’m watching flosstube I don’t mind if it isn’t entirely about stitching. 🥴
Maybe that hurts some people’s feelings but 🤷🏻♀️ I said it 😂
I like a wide variety of stitchers and channels so I always have a choice in what I watch. I love what I’ve seen in yours so far, very fun and you make me laugh. Isn’t having a good time the point? 😄
💗Tonya
Keep in mind too that A LOT of people watch Flosstube videos at 1.5x or even double speed, and that affects the "watch time" - if a person watches a 20 minute video at 2x speed, it will count as 10 minutes of watch time even if they actually watched the whole thing. I'm not saying there aren't a lot of skimmers, but I wouldn't take a 50% watch time average as an entirely accurate reflection of how much of your video people actually watched.
@@StitchManDarcy oh wow I didn’t think of that, cause I don’t speed anybody up. Now I’m not going to be able to stop thinking how much I probably sound even more like a hyperactive squirrel than I naturally do 😳😂
Definitely a good thing to keep in mind. 😮
Your crescent moon full-coverage is gorgeous! 🌜🌜🌜
It'll be nice to finally see it finished (eventually)!
I love your videos!
Picture it, pussycat, Sicily * waves arms * Love that golden girls reference
That sounds like a good system!
Not everyone watches flosstube while stitching! I'm watching you with bugs flying around your face while in bed ready to fall asleep lol I do both ... watch flosstubes while stitching in the morning and fall asleep to flosstube!
Now that you mention it, I sometimes watch Flosstube in bed to! 😂
That might be a good idea!!
Have you seen Jessie Marie's latest flosstube? She has the most amazing floss solution. Sounds like you're sorted, but check it out just in case. 😀
❤️❤️❤️
Love the long videos! Also agree I dislike trying to keep finding something to watch when I'm stitching. You should totally do The Raven! Im working on it now and would totally jump on that long ass hashtag bandwagon.
I'm going to use that hashtag at least once, if Instagram will let me use something that long 🤣
🎵💜🎵💜
Shawn White 😂 😂 😂
💜💜💜
You say Kaylee needs to do more songs for you but it kind of sounds like you just wrote a tiny stitches song for her.
Did you practice that lot of little bit spiel? That was impressive
I didn't practice or write down that spiel, it just came out like that 😂
Also, as much as I'd love to take credit for that song, it was actually to the tune of a song Kaylee did for me last year called "Tiny Scissors" 😂
Oh wow it is! Cover songs and remixes are totally a thing. So it still counts
💜☮️
Yeah, I need to record more songs for you.
No offense.
Your songs brighten my day. I sing "tiny scissors" and the flosstube-iversary song all the time while just puttering around my house. 😂
You do need to more for yourself though! Anything you do for me is just an extra treat!
About the flosstube complainers: whenever people say “stick to the stitching” it’s a jab at flosstubers who “discuss politics,” primarily liberal politics. 🙄 Those are the types who want to keep crafts and politics separate
I guess that's probably true. I've mentioned Trump, Biden, or Justin Trudeau a few times and those videos always get more dislikes than usual 😂
@@StitchManDarcy of course. These are often the same types who say “craftivism isn’t a thing” and mostly tend to fall on one side of the political spectrum.
Here is a comment. I forgot everything I was going to say. 🤦🏻♀️
That's exactly like most of my comments!!
I love youuuuuuuuu
I love you more ❤ ❤ ❤
Wait … why have you invaded my head??? Get out!!!!! Yes, people suck! Loved stitching Love You to Death. I also stitched Nevermore. Poe is in my top 10.
Thank you!! I also love Edgar Allan Poe. I'm excited to start Nevermore.
😂🎉❤🌻🐝🌻
I can't imagine ever getting so angry with anything Floss tube related to complain about it in comments or FB groups. Aside of Noah not uploading any videos for a really long time.
I miss Noah!!!!
How come I can't find Chessie? (don't say: I'm an idiot)
You're not an idiot!! 😂 Did you find it yet?
@@StitchManDarcy Yes, Yes, Yes! Also, I am sooo torn between you and Jacob 💗. No favorite, equal love.
🤣👏💯👍
Are you seriously not going to show us the picture of you as young Shaun White? We need to see!
Hahaha Melissa said the same thing. "You didn't show the picture!!" 😂
You are really entertai
ng. The only thing that bothered me was as a mother of three grown sons keep the floss of your mouth.
You hippy
Ok I stopped watching 😭 can I press play again please 🙏🤣
You’re videos aren’t nearly long enough and you don’t talk about enough random shit 😜 fix please!!!!
Next time will be heavier on the random shit talk 😂
@@StitchManDarcy Excellent. Thank you 😊 😂
