Thanks guys for all your encouraging words and support! About the cost of my restoration, I should also mention this - as Wong Sifu is a friend of friend, the price I got was Friendship Price. I believe the normal price would be slightly higher! Thought I should let you all know. Cheers! ❤
Supercar Blondie versi Malaysia... good luck Jun
I must say that Wong Sifu is a Master Of The Art in vehicle repair, restoration, maintenance, snd engineering. There are few individuals that posess all those skills..........And he carries about a humility that is very rare ! You are very fortunate indeed to have Master Sifu to put his gifted hands on your vehicle ! Be good. Trinidad & Tobago. West Indies.
only the material for restorating my hj61 costs like 5000 chf (more of double the amount you spent) and I'm doing it with my boyfriend who is a mechanic who already ripped down so many landcruiser for customers... so I don't have to outsource anything at a garage what would cost so much I would be poor (switzerland). so you're very lucky. I love the color. I think it's very cool to see other women buy old land cruisers and want to be in the process of building from "scratch", helping and learn by doing. can't wait to see what you do on the inside! :D
Hi there. I believe services like this are cheaper in Asia, which makes it quite doable for a complete beginner like me! You do have the upper hand of having a boyfriend who is a mechanic, so that's great 👍
I just checked the prices in your description. Holy shyte! What great value. Fantastic prices for what you got done. That external paint job for RM 3800, Wow! In Australia, you will only get a door painted for that price.
Holy shit here in south Africa I can the same value of paint job done for R6000 or R8000 at most.... Though for a color change some places cost about R14, 000 to R60, 000
Dont forget check thr rear wheel bearings whilst rerplacing rear universal bearings,Happy trucking, you Go girl, keep going on the Legendary Landcruiser!
This is a perfect outdoor SUV, less computers, wires etc, is rugged and take the backcountry roads, this is perfect! Hope you have wonderful years of enjoyment with this beast. Best of luck Jun, I like your energy 🤞
HI I also have a n 17 year old Toyota and enjoy changing all part s like Ac compressor , coil, all wheels bearing, add an android player with reverse camera for safety when reversing. The money spend was around 5k but I enjoyed the process too.
Congratulations!!! A million thanks to Wong Sifu, his teammates who worked on the upholstery n paintwork! The results, speak for itself! Really great job and dedicated efforts! 1) The chip that had broken off from the Crown Wheel/ Ring Gear, was causing the abnormal noise from the Rear Differential Assembly which has an in-built LSD ( limited slip differential). Glad Wong Sifu replaced the Ring Gear. 2) The body filler applied by the paintshop is called Putty. Ranges from medium to super fine. Meanwhile, get more familiarized with this lovely "baby yet-to-be-named" and be happy and safe! Rgds from Kampar.
Hi David, thank you so much for educating me with all the accurate terms. I admit I am struggling with the unfamiliar territory of the car language and jargons! Someone should create a car language dictionary :)
ha ha.. everyone has something to learn, each day, from each different encounter.Glad to be of some help.By the way, I had spent 46 years of my working life with two major automotive brands,40 yrs with Toyota and 6 yrs with Mazda. I am always glad to help.Best rgds from me,retired and living in Kampar.
Wow nice job done to your LC. It should last you for another 10 years till the next major works. As an owner of LC myself this is one car worth restoring and keeping for a long time.
Jun you truck looks fantastic, well done to the men who did it for you and to you as well for helping in the process. Can’t wait to see what else you do with it. I have just had my second camp overnight in my Subaru forester and loved it. You inspired me to just do it, get out there in nature and enjoy camping and seeing our world.
looks great no gimmicks or rubbish and i think it was for next to nothing your master has done a very good job i just hope you sort that horrible exhaust noise unless its a personal preference will no doubt go for another 30 years good job you have some nice fit legs on you it looks like a lot of climbing is going to be happening just subscribed so will be watching the progress in your beast
I always have in mind those sifus should be elderly and skillful. Sifu Wong and those involved in your partial restoration project clearly manifest their professionalism. The overall cost, OMG, it's really well spent. Brilliant choice of colour Jun. Yes, looking forward to your video soon. You still haven't decide on the name of your "baby", have you?😜
I've been very blessed to have people like Wong Sifu help me through this journey. Thanks for watching! No name yet but shall wait for inspiration to hit. The name needs to carry meaning and value :)
Ive been following your restoration of the LC70 and must say you have done a good job. Cant wait to see what outdoor ammenities you will be installing on the LC70. love the matte finish touch on the paint (and color) as well!!!
Finally it is done, love the scrapping process, definitely satisfying to watch😄,love3 all the restoration process, excited to see your next adventure with your new baby♥️,i am also restoring my perodua kenari which has not been started for 3 years!!! a lot had to be done, wish me luck😄
Seems like the name which I propose earlier "BLACK PEARL" will now change😊😁 Oh well, m happy that you're satisfied with your customised colour. All the best in your up coming adventures. 🙏❤️
Awesome. Looks and sounds amazing! That was a treat to watch. Wong sifu is the man. Can't believe all that work was less than $3k in US dollars! 😵 Cant wait to see it out on adventures!
enjoyed your restoration video, paint removers are very nasty and toxic stuff, remember to always wear a respirator with charcoal filter & safety goggles when handling these chemicals, a tiny drop on your skin can cause a burning sensation already much less the fumes... looking forward to part 3!
Nice restoration and for a fraction of the price I would have paid in Singapore. However, I think the mechanic should invest in better PPE especially when handling paint remover….the fumes are very toxic and the waste from the paint remover must be disposed properly as chemical waste. Fabulous car, looking forward to more of your adventure videos.
Congratulations Jun! Watching the restoration process is sooooo satisfying. And when you're involved in it yourself (sempat lagi main dengan glue gun hahaha), the satisfaction levels go through the roof! I mistakenly guessed that the LC would turn into a green monster. But Sandy Taupe (tweaked) is a great choice for the LC's earthy look.
Love the build so far. Looking good! Congrats. 😃 If it was my build, I would lower the vehicle closer to factory height, as it is currently too tall and would have a lot of bodyroll once loaded up. And then also, consider switching over from the current magnesium wheels, to the tried and tested factory steel rims with a thinner profile of tyre. The 3.0 KZTE is generally speaking reliable if well looked after and if you keep the EGT (exhaust gas temperature) as low as possible, but with those bigger wheels it will definately be working harder which means bigger chance of breaking something and higher fuel consumption. ☺ Hope my advice helps!
Very useful tips and advice. Appreciate it. Thanks! Yes, the current 4-inch lift is too much and I am not loving the bodyroll that comes with it. Will be sorting out the suspension, wheels and tires soon :)
@@JunOutdoors to keep your vehicle in tip top running condition, get an EGT gauge installed and let your mechanic explain to you what the readings mean. The KZTE engine is great IF it is looked after. Always gear down for uphills to where you can feel the engine is comfortable, and never ever put your foot down on uphills. The overfueling will lead to your Exhaust Gas Temperatures climbing as high as 700 to 800 deg celsius, and that is when your engine's cylinder head can be severely damaged or warped.
Thanks guys for all your encouraging words and support!

Love the final result! Any chance for a joyride? I'll buy lunch ... ha ha ha
No doubt Wong Sifu is a grandmaster of auto mechanics.
Indeed he is :)

Rasanya Jun tak dapat nak manage another YT channel dah. haha. 1 kereta ni dah cukup :)

the labor costs alone for this level of work in the states would be astronomical. wong sifu is the man
@@Beastie_Boy33 Same for Australia.
Holy shit here in south Africa I can the same value of paint job done for R6000 or R8000 at most.... Though for a color change some places cost about R14, 000 to R60, 000
Remember cost of living is so much different in Malaysia than Australia or America ❤
Indeed good prices. I'm very blessed 🙌
Congratulations June! It’s amazing that the refurbishment cost is only RM12k for your LC! It’s totally worth it!
I'm lucky to have been recommended this sifu by a friend. It's great!
Dont forget check thr rear wheel bearings whilst rerplacing rear universal bearings,Happy trucking, you Go girl, keep going on the Legendary Landcruiser!
Thanks for the tip! I have a steep learning curve. Might need to start my own Land Cruiser diary, to document everything!

enjoyed your restoration video, paint removers are very nasty and toxic stuff, remember to always wear a respirator with charcoal filter & safety goggles when handling these chemicals, a tiny drop on your skin can cause a burning sensation already much less the fumes... looking forward to part 3!
Oh yes I did feel the toxicity in the air. Thanks for the reminder!

sister we all love your optimism , the rear end repair job in the usa , most likely cost 5 k us dollars !!
Wow that's not cheap. I should feel lucky here! Thanks for watching :)
Wow Jun, your Land Cruiser looks really cool ! Cheers🍻
Thanks. Cheers to you too!
You are right. Lots of toxic fumes and chemicals. I should remind him that! Thanks for watching!
Wow.. nice color, excellent choice 👍👍👍
Thanks!
