To be honest, that movie came out around the time when people were still bombarded with messages that women could not live fulfilling lives unless men found them attractive, and that they would be forever miserable without men in their lives. With that in the background, it was actually refreshing to have a movie that depicted men as sensible human beings who actually cared about what women wanted out of relationships. I also found it quite interesting that they showed how an average guy with an average job still had great qualities as a person, and that in the end it was his qualities as a person that helped win over the lady of his dreams. That must’ve been a risky move, because it wasn’t how fairy tales / romcoms normally would unfold and had too much mundane truth in it but not enough dramatic transformations. Overall I enjoyed the movie a great deal ever since it first came out, but I do feel now that it still made women seem rather stupid and dumb and did not do them enough justice as independent individuals. Still, progress, no matter how little, should be celebrated nonetheless :)

If a woman lies to me, it's done. I'm extending you the courtesy in the respect to tell you everything honestly and have a fun and revealing and exciting conversation as a result. If you want to lie about anything, I get up and I walk away. You can tell me you're 25 when you're actually 26 and I'm out. My ex-fiance wanted to start drama and play some kind of games with me. So pretty much as soon as she finished her first sentence I reminded her of what my cardinal rule was in a relationship. No artificial drama. Ended up breaking up with her on the spot, grabbing your hand, taking the ring, and kicking her out of my house. I don't date hypocrites

“Hitting is a good thing” hah Will really toke that line literally recently
Take Will's name out of your gawd damn mouth!
Ouch

So he’s in love with Chris rock?!
The guy with the dog was epic and priceless!!!!!!!!!🤣

I agree with everything u said. I finally watched this movie after 20 years and it holds up in a weird way.
and today - dating is in a massive decline and more men are walking away
If Stewart could do it, then this guy is real, he could make it happen for anyone
4:22 to 4:37 - Is my favorite takeaway.
Kevin and will knocked it out the park with this film.

So sweet. Will is great in this role. Still my favorite O’ Jays song.
I love how each guy is someone in their lives and they really like the girl just naturally 💜
