I finally read all of Jason Aaron’s Thor run a couple of months back and it was fantastic. My favorite arcs being the god butcher arc, the godbomb arc, the mighty Thor arc, and the king Thor arc. I can’t wait to read Donny Cates run once it’s collected in hardcover!

Gorr origin would make an excellent animated movie. Imagine they writers who did under the red hood got to animate this story. Cant weight for the MCU version
Gorr’s story is very sad but very understandable he’s the epitome of human curiosity and vengeance. I hope his story is done right in the movies, ( which I highly doubt) his story is not for kids at all. Gorr is the type of person to make you see the truth under all the ignorance of belief.
Yeah the movies tend to dumb down Marvel a lot, which is unfortunate because comics wise Marvel heroes are a lot more morally complex and Grey than DC. How they did civil war already told me they don't want to go down that route. They even had to give Thanos the dumbest most illogical motivations in an attempt to make him more family friendly and not a complete psychopath whose somewhat sympathetic as he himself is a victim of Death who wouldn't let him escape his obsession with her (imagine if we got him murdering him family as tribute to her in theaters). Every potential complex system gets turned into a one note black and white villain.
Thanos is a far more complex and interesting villain in the films than the comics. Evil for the sake of evil isn’t interesting. A villain who is understandable and sympathetic is far more interesting. MCU Thanos acts how he does because of trauma and grief.
Awesome video, and I like he details mentioned in his origins like when he was young ) I can't wait to see this movie and I hope it will do him justice regarding his origins and can't wait to see how he will get the necrosword )

Very disappointed with how he was treated in the movie! They should’ve made him a returning villain. But instead, like every other villain with potential, he dies in the first film he’s introduced in 🤦🏾♂️

I could see Gorr, the god butcher and Knull, the god of the symbiotes working together. Because Knull used the Necro sword and went on a genocide against the other gods and, so did Gorr, thus proving that even the gods are not perfect.

@@SolomonRasputin Doom has only been good in the last decade or so, before that he had convoluted plots and borderline interesting motivations. I like him but Gorr was written so perfectly. His motivations made sense, his actions were brutal and efficient and he was relatable.
in the comics, Thor actually had to team up with his past self and future self to finally beat Gorr, and that wouldn't be the last time the Holy Trinity of Thors would team up the incident with Gorr actually planted a seed of doubt in Thor's mind, about how Gods are horrible entities the world would be better off without, this doubt eventually caused Thor to lose his worthiness and ability to wield Mjolnir, he was forced to abandon it on the moon, where it would later be picked up by Jane, who heard its calling and used it to become Lady Thor
I'm 43 now and in my younger years, was a huge comic book reader. I stopped reading comics just at the beginning of the Onslaught series. This channel always catches me up on what I missed. Great channel!!!
I can’t believe y’all just skimmed over King Thor like that. Gorr became one with the Necrosword and is resurrected after Loki had taken it. He then comes back to fight Old King Thor and consumes what’s left of the universe to become the All-Black the Necroverse. After Thor defeats him, he becomes mortal and insane and is watched over by the Sky Lords.

@@SolomonRasputin Doom has only been good in the last decade or so, before that he had convoluted plots and borderline interesting motivations. I like him but Gorr was written so perfectly. His motivations made sense, his actions were brutal and efficient and he was relatable.
The movie origins story of Gorr was too short and didnt do it justice
in the comics, Thor actually had to team up with his past self and future self to finally beat Gorr, and that wouldn't be the last time the Holy Trinity of Thors would team up
the incident with Gorr actually planted a seed of doubt in Thor's mind, about how Gods are horrible entities the world would be better off without, this doubt eventually caused Thor to lose his worthiness and ability to wield Mjolnir, he was forced to abandon it on the moon, where it would later be picked up by Jane, who heard its calling and used it to become Lady Thor

I can’t believe y’all just skimmed over King Thor like that. Gorr became one with the Necrosword and is resurrected after Loki had taken it. He then comes back to fight Old King Thor and consumes what’s left of the universe to become the All-Black the Necroverse. After Thor defeats him, he becomes mortal and insane and is watched over by the Sky Lords.
I'm actually a little annoyed that Gorr looks more human than alien, why remove his alien element?

A B&B movie theatre sounds awesome. And Christian Bale in a MCU Movie 🔥. Good to see him back in a comic book film 10 years after the last dark knight movie. And Gorr sounds like the dark Marvel version of Saint Walker but who lost his faith and in a darkseid origin manner took his anger out on all the gods that took his family away.
