This video makes it look way better than it is, there is nothing to do there, any quality store that was there is long gone, it really has nothing to offer except good high school sports. Suburbs outside of town are really nice, just drive out of Coatesville in any direction and it gets better that way.
Born and raised, Coates St girl. It’s not what it used to me. It was a vibrant and beautiful city growing up. I have a lot of family and some good friends that live there. I love the people and how they’re trying to make the city I better place for themselves and the children. Even though I live in Akron Oh now, COATESVILLE will always be home to me for life, and I’ll always love the people and the city ❤️ Thank you this drive thru😍
Grew up there. So sad to see how downhill it has gone. Lincoln Hwy going through what used to be a vibrant downtown with retail looks so sad now. They tore down too many of the historical buildings on main street. 😢😢
Coatesville has some great old buildings, the builders and designers were a genius back in the day! Especially the ones made of real stone, still standing tall! I lived there for 20 plus years. Good clip!
I agree. Beautiful churches too with the original gray stones. My favorite part of the city though is the views, especially north above the city where that old cemetery is. Thanks again my man, much appreciated!
Does anyone know of a place in or around coatesville , that makes pizza with the same taste as “coatesville pizza” from the 80’s, the one that was located next to the the laundromat on s.3rd Avenue across from coatesville flower shop? If you do it would be much appreciated
I was in placement with a few kids from coatesville back in 06, I never knew much about it except that Rip Hamilton is from there but the guys I knew all got killed so that says something about coatesville, it looks like a calm town in this video but it must be early because nobody’s outside at all, neighborhoods might look nice but you gotta talk to the people to know wassup and I don’t think it’s as nice as this video looks
At 12:45 you drive down s 4th ave that’s where I grow up from 1978 to 1994 back then the oak street projects were still standing, I had a lot of good times on that street and at ash park right down the street, my friends and I would sit and watch the baseball games during the summer, and that’s also where they had the rodeo for Buffalo Bill Days
It depends if you prefer urban or suburban living, but they do have both and yes plenty of good places. I'm not familiar enough to say where exactly though.
Looks like MR.Rogers neighborhood compared to where I lived in Wilmington DE There is the occasional shooting and drug bust but. That’s why you stand tall and keep to yourself. @@NightFight164 i live in WEST END. it was an old Polish neighborhood now mixed evenly. I dont think any part is better or worse but I have noticed more activity in the summer months. That said if you're coming from Philly it's a step up... too much goin on in the city right now everyone's tryna get out. I'd say go for it!

Coatesville doesn’t even have hoods to it. At one point it was blocks claimed or sections but that was years ago. Cleaned up a lot since I’ve been home.

It’s not that bad. Compared to other parts of America like Arkansas and the Midwest, it’s better.
I was born and raised here. 1983 graduated from coatesville and I still love it. Yet I live in Florida now. I love you people don't give up.
I graduated from there in 82. We may have seen each other in the hallways.
