Our Story:
We are five years into a seven year effort of transforming 20 acres of "Piney
Grove" in Northwest Florida into our dream homestead/mini farm to be filled
with animals and joy. We plan to have a variety of miniature critters on our
pastures, raise free-range chickens, grow fish in our pond, garden
organically, plant fruit and nut trees, and harvest wild game. Our goal is
to escape the stresses of corporate life and embrace all that country living
has to offer as we enter the next chapter of our lives. Follow along on our
journey!

I did something similar to prevent squirrels from reaching the bird feeders, I used a piece of ducting to go around the pole. Have a great week Brad 🙋🏼♂️🙂👍🏻
Squirrels are a whole different set of problems. They like to get on top of that plastic feeder and chew it so it leaks and rots the corn! Always something, Luc!
Wouldn't be more effective to place a few picnic baskets around the various food plots?😃
Yes, like in my friend's plots so they get bear, and I get deer!
Do you feed all year or only when getting close to hunting season? I enjoyed the video today. Interesting video. Bears have really made a comeback in Missouri in recent years. More mountain lions sightings too.
We provide food year round for the deer herd. Florida opened up the season for bears in 2015 and in 3 days they hit their quota and closed the season. It hasn't been open since. The numbers support a season, but the politics don't.
Put grease on poll, the bear wont climb.

No bears on PPHH, but I’ve heard they’re spotted close by. I would love to bear hunt!
I've rarely seen them while hunting. At first, I was a little skittish walking the woods in the dark knowing they are there. But it's not like they are Grizzlies!!
Interesting stuff. Those look like some nice setups! We have black bears up by the cabins in norther WI. I was out one time and came across a lone cub. I slowly turned around and walked away. Never saw momma bear and happy I didn’t. It sure made me uneasy though.
I came around a corner on my ATV one time and there was a momma and a couple of cubs in road. We both froze and looked at each other and then I did the fastest 3 point turn in history and went the other way!! Don't mess with a momma bear!
@@PineyGroveHomestead you can say that again! Scary stuff!
I use 12/OO treble hooks with 300ib steel leaders. It holds there till I can get there and dispatch properly
Florida doesn't allow taking black bears. I wish they would though.
I didn't know you had bears in North Florida
So many bears here and they are protected, so their numbers just keep growing. Thanks for watching.
