You know what, kid, you get a thumbs up just for being creative and taking initiative. It's people like you who just find a way to get a job done, so well done, my friend! (And yes, to my old self, if you're under 40 you're still a kid, so make the most of it while it lasts.)
Its all about the pipe, If you can find pipe that fits into each other than the rest is all fairly straight forward to any one who is mechanical. With that said, you did not fill in the most important blank. What pipe fits into each other so nicely and where can you find it? Without that info the rest is irrelevant. Nice effort but you forgot the biggest part. For anyone interested, I found the black plastic/pvc pipe at hardware stores can slide into the smaller size and make a good base for this but it lacks strength so if you are mounting some heavy items it may be dicey.
Using electrical wire for hand grip? On hockey sticks we would use athletic tape for grip which can make it a non-slip grip. The electrical grip looks painful to grip!
Robert Roemer I did something like that and found a solution, you can use a wire from inside the pipe, it has to be well measured, and u'll need other stuff like a cap glued inside the inner pipe, and of course the pipe has to be thinner than the outer one, you'll actually fit the cap inside the outer pipe, the wire will be on the cap with a screw, and the other point of the wire will be on the outer piper. Pay attention that everything here has to be inside the pipes. by doing this, it won't pull out. There is another way too, you can just use one pipe inside the inner pipe, instead of a cap, but it's too hard to explain, I couldn't barely explain the other situation.
what mount is that i just purchased a hero three and it did not come with the mount, i was wondering if that was the side mount or the three way pivot arm?
Where did you get these pipes? I was in like 10 stores with pipes and they dont have pipe where i could fit that "black gopro thing" .. please help me :/ can i get this 21mm pipe on ebay ? I'm from CZ
Hi vv97vv, thank for make this video, It's very useful for me. But I have a question at time 6:22. How do you put the Grip into pole. What size of diameter of this small pipe ( 25mm or bigger)??
I made that grip in the end of the real pole, but for the video I just made a little peace just for example. And the pipes. The inner pipes outer diameter is the same size as the outer pipes inner diameter. So just the friction keep them together.

Excellent tutorial! In the future - please - try to use darker paper/table instead of newspapers, as they are a bit distracting. Thanks for tutorial!
Maybe it is not original, but... the way you,ve made handle - brilliant!
Excellent job mate well done very nice to see a proper robust looking set up with even a cambered grip!!!
Thanks for the tutorial. How did you make the locking mechanism for telescopic tubes?
Pretty good idea and design! BTW great job on the tutorial. Been looking for something like this for my rc channel!
Good idea.
Good job man. You should bring have extra holes and an extra bolt so you can extend it at different lengths!
Instead of the copper wire for the handle, you could have used Sugru: it's a silicon rubber that you can mold and it would harden after 24 hours.
Whats the point of the pipe with the wire taped to it? What's stopping the 21mm pipe from just sliding right out?
This video is very useful to me, thanks for the sharing and keep your 5/5 work up!! Vilho ROCKS
wooow that is a nice idea putting the screw in the hole of the mount
That's pretty cool, easey to understand, and it seems pretty effective. Thanks!!!
Excellent DiY job !!! Clean neatly and eficient!!!

good vid, easy to understand & follow, nice one fella.
How do you keep the inside pipe sliding all the out and detaching? Great video. Thanks for posting.
nice design, i like it prolly gonna do something very similar
How will the smaller pipe hold in the bigger one ? Is there something to avoid it to go away ?
awesome duude!
It is just the right size that friction keep it inside.

nice crocs
With all the wrenches on the pegboard why did you use that awful adjustable?
@MountainCat1M its called conduit, you will find it in electrical.
That was clever kid....GOOD JOB! Thanks.
Thanks for sharing :)
vv97vv awesome :)
I have a pole with an internal twist-action lock. but it is now stuck... do you know how I can unlock it?
Who will describe the Coupler you have used to expand the rod.
Nice pole dude, I need to make 1 with a mount on both sides I suppose u just repeat the process on both sides.
Great job! Hello from Alaska! :-)
No explica el procedimiento a partir del pedazo de pvc. Que hizo con eso, de ahí en adelante quedo inconcluso
Thank you for the great DIY helped me alot ;)
try adding a simple locking mechanism for that pole so it won't accidentally get detach from each other.
yes finaly ifound a person wh can actuly give a tutorial!!!! thanks a ton
awesome so simple! thanks buddy
5:34 look to the news paper on top of the table. Look those cows :D
What is the black thing at 3:30 called?
Cool video. Though I need to make something that is waterproof/won't take on water as I will take it surfing with me. :)
Greta tut!
Nice design but Why would you want it that long?
Uhhhh, what stops the inner pipe from sliding completely out of the outer pipe when extended?
Robert Roemer Clever.
+Robert Roemer they just fit together with friction, so dont pull it all out
I don't think Id trust my Gopro on friction alone. But thanks.

Squall Leonhart cool idea, if you can make a vid about it, ill give the first like
How where did that smaller pipe come from and how does the smaller pipe hold
amazing tutorial man! For the handle did you use a pipe with bigger diameter or what did you use?
Nice work dude, thanks :)
NICE ONE,... good job
I dindn`t got how one pole don`t get off the other. What holds them at the end ?
Drilling machine? LOL....it's a DRILL! Nice vid by the way!
Thanks so much for this tutorial. I made my own for $3. How can you go wrong?
It is tightly secure when extended.
Thanks for the how to.
Roosevelt
Thank you for this. Now I can have a weapon to defeat Aku.
how is it that it doesn't slide when extended?
nice crocs bro
Good use of titles. What was the black attachment at the end( wasn't labeled)?
good tut though
muy bueno, felicitaciones!
the piping store? where do you think!?
exactly what i noticed.
maybe i can use aluminium pipe rather than pvc pipe.
what is the point in the washers filling the space on the mount?
Nice tutorial...
why do you use a wrench like a screw driver?
Great job man, is it tightly secure when extended or you only go up to the line you marked?
Good job ! :)
what mount is that i just purchased a hero three and it did not come with the mount, i was wondering if that was the side mount or the three way pivot arm?
nice bro...
use a painte roller telescoping handle from home depot or Lowes $8
How long should the electrical wiring be cut?
hey great vid, i was looking at the pvc pipe and noticed that it bends a lot! Do you have any problems with yours bending at all?
hockey tape would have been cheaper than electrical wire, unless you already had it around the house..
Where did you get the piping?
Nice crocks bro!
ik right
Ikr* lol
Christian kinzel for him to say "ikr right" makes no sense; what he said was"(i know) right" which does make sense
how long dose the wire has to be?
@Mikkkkeil Why not?
Where'd you get the piping?
you are allright kid!
Can someone tell me those materials😭😭
how it stuck like that
what does it mean With #DIY"?
reckon this would support a DSLR? my 550d's about 3kg
May i ask how old gou are and what country you live in ?? Just curious. Thanks for vid , keep mm coming!!
Suggestion: List all your materials in your video description.
@MountainCat1M Just from normal hardware store.
What was the reason for stripping the insulation off of the copper wire???... seriously
Why are you using crocks??
Where did you get these pipes? I was in like 10 stores with pipes and they dont have pipe where i could fit that "black gopro thing" .. please help me :/ can i get this 21mm pipe on ebay ? I'm from CZ
I bought those pipes just from an ordinary hardware store. And as you can see the end of that inner pipe is little wider than the rest of it.
vv97vv Thank you, i think i will solve this problem that i make the hole bigger with some tool because there is no place to get this size of pipe :X
Is it waterproof?
Thanks :)
Hi vv97vv, thank for make this video, It's very useful for me.
But I have a question at time 6:22. How do you put the Grip into pole. What size of diameter of this small pipe ( 25mm or bigger)??

Is this waterproof?
That was three way pivot arm
@TRproductions12 I dont know why. I cut it shorter later :D
Im triggered by how he used the wrench to tighten the bolt at the beginning
What is the diameter of those pipes?
Looks like 1/2 pvc and 3/4 inch
@thedknuckles Thanks :)
Where did you buy your poles from? Are they basic pvc?
Yes. They are just normal pvc pipes. And i got bought them from hardware store.
Mr Grey side! XD
Same
did your cat really help?
I don't know why I wrote that, but sorry about my bad english.
Hiking stick and a pipe clamp is easier
