The more I know about genius society's member, the more I appreciate Herta's character more. She doesn't push the trailblazer when dangers seem to appear in SU, just so she can progress with knowledge gathering. She also seem to have empathy for Chadwick too.
This is true. For example, she straight up warns the Trailblazer to not go near Aeon IX if it can br helped. So much so that when we encounter IX during Swarm Disaster, we're immediately pulled out of the test right then and there, rather than getting the usual buff we would have gotten from "Treading far enough along the path"
Most of the universe especially the intelligentsia guild and IPC also really like Herta, shes one of the few genius society members willing to work with them and share knowledge which then benefits the rest of the universe. Most other geniuses cant really be bothered
The way Dr. Primitive's followers talk about him reminds me of how people in Star Rail talk about Aeons: some try to be noticed by him, while others conclude that he wound never gaze upon anyone as lowly as them. This makes me wonder if Primitive's goal is not merely preventing the stagnation of civilization by allowing them to re-engage with Erudition through renewing its discoveries, but rather redefining the path of Erudition itself and placing himself in control of it. That's right, I think Dr. Primitive's goal is grand theft Erudition/Aeonhood.
What I'm thinking of Dr. Primitive's goals were "regress civilizations" so he can play himself as the top of the social order. Making himself reliable and dependable in a society that makes him like the rest, but has a brain. When he wanted to ravage worlds into a more "simplicity" state. It would mean that no morality or ethics to stop him, just doing what they wanted and exactly getting it. The doctor would just want to see himself as the one who sees the world but still "monkey"
Actually, what if his goal alongside regressing societies, is to manipulate them into developing into one that would worship and see him as a God. Pretty much grooming on the cosmic scale.
I kinda caught on to that as well, the level of reverance they have for him is almost aeons levels of respect. I do wonder whether his inflated ego will make him pursue aeonhood but he could also just be pursuing knowledge and wanting to reinvigorate the pursuit of it in the universe
Speaking of Polka the lord of silence. She’s getting more lore to in the new Herta DLC. Getting to the end of that mode, we actually get to meet her. It really goes into her motives as to why she’s killing the other geniuses
I think the ultimate lifeform angle is a lot more likely while also being a completely stupid motivation, in a good way. Like the most basic explanation of evolution is natural selection. So assuming there isn't an Aeon involved in human creation and expansion, this same lifeform existing and evolving into the apex ruler of dozens if not thousands of planets is absolutely remarkable. An argument could be made humans are even more-so the last frontier of evolution here than in real life. But it's not monke, so it's shit. I'd also argue Rappa explores the futility of this belief system even further. We're talking about a hyper intelligent being that her creators were incapable of containing and even the top brass' advanced military equipment couldn't kill when she was 10 and presumably unarmed. But it's not monke, so it's shit. My man is literally the pterodactyl guy from Spiderman.
The lore of this version is actually pretty interesting, you can dig out analogies pointing to Banana Republic, scandals of United Fruit Company, One Hundred Year of Solitude, to theories like Tittytainment, etc.
@ That one scene where Mojo puts on the arch of Townsville Hall as his helm in the PPG movie would definitely work here, too. The atavastic experiment is his first, greatest, and most brilliant plan ever. And Primitive shall be an AEON!
Generally yes but the 'issues' are more tied to their advancement, he feels they are not living up to their full potential so the reset is a second chance for them, at least thats how he sees it
My feeling was that the Slumbernana story was simply a reference to the history of the real-life Gros Michel banana, but otherwise contained no deeper lore connections.
I’ve been a huge fan of dr primative fan and have been waiting for ages for mentions of him I think he might be a robot who is so smart that he’s bored of humans because they can’t entertain him so he’s resetting them to make them smarter to have somebody to compete with (Because he might like competition as we see he likes be persued)
The biggest thing that interests me with primitive is the rumours of how he is located in the device IX, im really curious if we would end up there in pursuit of him
Fr though she has her own quirks but she's generally more saner than most genius society members,Screwllum is the only other one that seems to share that trait.

Dr Primitive took the phrase "Return to monke" to its most literal and worst definition possible
Primitive is monkey of focus, commitment and sheer will. I once saw him kill a human with a banana shaped pencil

Screwllum ironically the most humane of them all and he's a robot

@ThyFloorestFloor Considering the social hierarchy of some monkeys and apes. Yep, Dr. Primitive wanted to be the top of the structure pyramid
Damn monkey

Dr. Primitive is Mojo Jojo in space.
I would love if his design included a giant dome helm hiding his giant brain 😂
@
I mean, he is basically a Primitive genius. Imagine he's a monkey with a huge brain.

That one scene where Mojo puts on the arch of Townsville Hall as his helm in the PPG movie would definitely work here, too.
The atavastic experiment is his first, greatest, and most brilliant plan ever. And Primitive shall be an AEON!
The way I understand Dr. primitive is if he sees a civilization that has any form of issues, he "resets" them. Simple.
it's not *any* civilizations, he wants to reset *all* of them.
Generally yes but the 'issues' are more tied to their advancement, he feels they are not living up to their full potential so the reset is a second chance for them, at least thats how he sees it
So just like Sa from Honkai Impact then
My feeling was that the Slumbernana story was simply a reference to the history of the real-life Gros Michel banana, but otherwise contained no deeper lore connections.
We did get quite a detailed exposition on how bananas are cultivated in star rail...
i totally expect dr primitive to end up looking like grodd from dc comics
Grodd does seem like the most likely design approach but I half want it to look like mojo jojo 😂

Dr. Primitive story is SO dark. The Genius Society members are totally off their shits.
I guess the difference between a genius and being batshit crazy is a very fine line
Herta was right...she's among the nicer ones...
Fr though she has her own quirks but she's generally more saner than most genius society members,Screwllum is the only other one that seems to share that trait.
Probably wants to reset humanity as he sees that as restoring the past paths that humanity didn't walk on before
Paths are connected it aeons not humanity
@rickelmehanwinckel2699 I meant like their future development
He really takes "return the monkey" into reality.
Whats funny is that I have a feeling he might not even be a monkey and is just saying he is to confuse people 😂
