Awesome place I'll be 49 here in a few days and am shocked sometimes at the thought of how old I am. Life has been a whirlwind since the 70s. I have a photographic memory so I constantly correct my sisters. That siding isn't asbestos. It's masonite a pulp and resin product from the 70s. Asbestos was popular in the 50s and 60s and never rotts. It comes in 12"×24" flat tiles with either vertical lines or a vertical wood grain pattern. I love history. And I hung on to every word my Grandparents told me. About the way things where for them way back when. It breaks my heart that my grandchildren don't give two turds about how I grew up. GOD bless you and stay safe.
Thank you so much for the information. I wish I had that great a memory. However, I will remember that for the next videos that have Masonite siding. I apologize ahead because I have a video I will be putting up later on where I call the siding asbestos too. Actually it is the farmhouse where the guy who told me about this store grew up. He still has the old farmhouse next to his home. Unfortunately, he only let us video the outside of the farmhouse, but we also got to video the shed, outhouse and the huge old barn, which by the way I fell in love with.
I agree, it is sad how kids today have no interest in their heritage. I know I regret not listening more to my grandparents when they told me about mine, but at least I cared enough to hear most of it. thanks for watching and the information. I appreciate the knowledge.
Well you should of told stories and shown pictures to the grandchildren to make interesting your past.
Maybe next time.Too bad too sad.
I love that old counter. A shame it is left there. The same with the wooden bins. Looks like this one was hidden good. Great find!
Thanks and I agree, it is always sad to see the old things wasting away. It is a beautiful old store.
I don't know why things like history gets abandoned. It's sad.
Yes, these old buildings would be beautiful if restored. So sad to see them just rot away. Thanks for watching.
its so heart breaking
Por favor, pon Subtítulos en Español, saludo desde Argentina 🇦🇷
@@silviabeatrizbaldauf215 We have the subtitles up. I hope it works for you. Thanks for watching ☺☺
Those bins are cool. These old buildings are getting harder to find.
Yeah, I agree. Plenty of abandoned buildings but the good old ones are getting harder to find. Mainly, because they are vandalized. Some people need to be a life.
Fried Green Tomotoes.. That was my 1st thought. Fave movie. Love all the nature sounds. Ist time here. Watch Kappy. Thank-You.
I love that movie too but I never thought about the connection. I do now. Glad to have you and hope it's not your last time to visit us. Watch Kappy? Hasn't everyone? He watches us too. He has left comments. Check out our other vids to see his comments. Thanks for watching!
Love this explor!! A step way back in time...
Thank you greatly for the compliment. So glad you like the video!
You nailed it! That is how exploring these buildings makes us feel, like we are stepping back in time.
Thank you for the great video. It brought back memories because we had an old one room country store when I was growing up in the 1960's here in Missouri and we had everything like this one did including gas and oil and kerosene and used tires and also a 5 room house built on thru a door behind the counter. Thanks again !!
You are welcome. Thanks for the nice compliments. I am so glad you enjoyed it and that it brought back fond memories. I bet it was was an interesting childhood growing up in a store. Thanks for watching :)
Thank you for sharing this beauty with us. I would love to have those bins. I wonder if some of those small what-nots were once items that never sold in the store. Oh to daydream about What once was.
I don't know if there were items that were left there since the store closed. We didn't want to prowl into his stuff, since he was nice enough to let us video it. I only know the counter and bins were original. If I'd known what to do with the counter, I would have offered to buy it. I loved the roughness of the top. It had stories. Thanks for watching and caring about this abandoned beauty
It would be so fun to metal detect around it
Oh you are so right! Can you image the old stuff you might find?
its really COOL!
Thanks for the super cool & very nice compliment!
Very nice very well done video.
We appreciate the compliment and thank you for watching the video.
Thank You! That was cool.
You're welcome and thank you for the cool compliment :)
Love it
Thank you. I love the house and farm too
*Love this!* ❤️

Thank you for all of your hard work and for sharing! ❤️
@@bonniekaye You are very, very welcome! 🤗
Hello great video I love history great find thank you for sharing
Hey, thanks for the compliment and for watching. We have more coming with their history added.
Reuse and restore, shame to let it fall apart!
I agree with you. This place would be adorable if restored. There is an old farmhouse right next to it that someone tried to update but ended up just abandoning it too. We'll show it at a later date. The store is on a dirt and gravel road in the middle of nowhere and the closest town is small and several miles away. Not many live out in that area so it wouldn't do good as a store again but maybe it could be tourist attraction if restored to its glory days.
Loved this one. So glad you went in to look around. ;)
Thanks, so glad you liked it. We are learning what viewers want, so appreciate the comments.
The old store is great. I am looking forward to the video of the house at the end.
The house at the end of the video looks like it came right out of a horror movie. I love it!
This could be such an awesome tiny house for someone, but maybe it's too far gone(???)
I think it can be saved and yes, it would make a wonderful tiny house. I bet it could even be moved.
Thanks
You're welcome & thanks for watching
Enjoyed that you can say cool all you like it dose not in anyway take away from a excellent insight into what went before keep up the good work greetings from Dublin ireland
You are so sweet! Sending HUGS to Dublin!
Reminds me of my home town cottageville west virginia
I think that is so exciting that a place we video reminds someone of their hometown. :)
You better snake
proof your legs
going into places like
this you can
hear the snakes rattle
before the
strike and don’t go
by yourself
have others with you
in case anything
happens.
Thank you for your advice and for caring. I never go alone. My husband and I are a team. My dad taught me a lot about snakes and what to watch out for and you are right, you need to be alert at all times and never go alone.
@Abandoned Beauty thanks for sharing your
videos this is the 1st time I saw this thanks
for sharing all these memories from long ago
I remember we had a store something like
this when I was growing this brought those
memories back again keep sharing and do
stay safe exploring. 😃👍🏼 I like the song
The Judds sing Grandpa Tell Me About The
Good Old Days. that’s a really good song.
@@pbs4535 You are very, very welcome. I am so happy it brought you good memories.
Oh, I love that song. I was sad when I heard that Noami passed. I'm glad you liked the song. I am very picky so it takes me quite awhile to pick a song that works just right with how the place makes me feel.
What a lovely old store. Imagine the stories it could tell. Excuse me for mentioning it if you're not into that sort of thing, but that's a strange female voice you picked up on your audio at 6:38, then a quick glimpse of and orb in front of you. Thanks for a great video.
Wow, I didn't catch that. We have a K2 meter and recorders. We may have to go back to this one and take some readings. Thanks for pointing that out. We may be new but we already have some very informative viewers. Thanks
@@PrettyTattered You're very welcome. Glad I could contribute something to your videos.

*My pleasure!*
*Looking forward to many more!*
There was a old scale in the bin
In the Pinto Beans bin? Is it the rusty thing? I saw an electric coffee maker, some papers, the cigar box, what looked like a shoe box lid and the rusty thing. Did I miss something? I am curious, NOW! LOL
I thought the inside would look like an old store
We would have loved to see it too when it was open. It has been closed now for like 50 yrs. We went back recently to see how it looks in the Fall and found the old potbelly stove behind it. It is beautiful. I am going to post a pic of it on the community page. Thanks for watching
Looks like someone lived there for a while
Actually, a neighbor told me it has been used for storage for many many years. I think people just ransacked it looking for something of value.
Probably don’t cut it.
Sorry you feel that way. Thanks for watching
That's not asbestos siding that's old fibre board siding asbestos siding was similar to ceramic
Thank you for the information. I appreciate it. :)
@@PrettyTattered by the way great video
@@billyhensley7770 Thank you!
@@PrettyTattered yes ma'am
so all you do is find them and tape them??????to bad you couldent get a hold of some of prev owners and the town hall and bring it back to life//god is good/i could never go around taping these beautiful places and then i would have to leave it/noooooo way/
It is very hard to walk away from most of these and I want to live in most of them. These buildings are abandoned but on property that someone owns. The store owner doesn't care much about what happens to it. He just uses it for storage. Some people are like that. The store is located in the country, pretty far from any towns. We photograph and video them because we love these old building, want to share them with you and this is our way of preserving them. They won't ever be completely gone this way. Thanks for watching and caring about what happens to these abandoned beauties.
You like that word too much!!!
COOL! Back to school lady.
Otherwise interesting history.
Again cool! Getting tired of that word.
Cool!
Stop with the “cool comments “ . 😱
Sorry, I am working on it but I always say "cool" when I am excited and I am always excited to see these places. I love abandoned beauties Thanks for watching!!
Could you PLEASE stop saying "cool"?
Huh...No, 😂 I agree, I did say it a lot in this video. I promise to work on that.
