I think roadsters and pure sports cars are going to see a comeback. With basic transportation going towards electric travel pods, internal combustion is going to live on through pure sports cars for the driving engagement and mechanical engagement that an electric car just can't replicate.
What made the s2k great is why it won't (rather can't) be produced again. A 9k rpm NA engine will never be at that price point again, emissions have become too strict, and you'd be forced to have traction control now.
Hello everyone! I am from 5 years in the future. We do indeed get another Honda S2000. However, It's a 300 hp sedan with a full electric motor. Sorry to break the news fellas
Glad to see you guys did your homework and voiced the participation of Pininfarina in designing the body. But you did miss one fact that the SSM had the 2.5L inline 5 from the Acura Vigor.

Just got back from a 1600 mile road trip blasting around the mountains in mine. I love my S2k and would like to have another one or two or three. The Integra has me hopeful that a reboot is possible too.

I decided to pull the trigger now and get myself an ‘02 all stock. I’m glad I got my hands on one this young rather than watching it appreciate in value to the point where it would be impossible to snag one
Have a 2003 S2000 since 2005. I have put 175K on it and it still drives like new. This is still the most fun behind a wheel. The funny thing is that when it was almost new it didn't turn many heads. I love my S2000. Been driving it 20 years. Want another one. Looked at one today, at Priority Honda Chesapeake, and it was junk. A 2006, much rust in engine compartment, all exterior paint bad for a variety of reasons. Asking $29,999.00 and it's not worth $10,000.00 at best.
I don't think you should buy one, cause prices are through the roof and about to hit the sky, at least until the market gets better, but if you have the money, it could be a decent investment down the line, that is if ice regulations don't stop it. Honestly, I think it's an amazing car, and it should definitely have a comeback. The Miata has little competition these days.
The best manual shifter, honda reliability and a design that still looks current today. 9/24/2023 is coming soon and Honda will need a 75th anniversary present for itself….please let it be a new s2000.
I do think the s2000 should return... just as it left (chassis-wise & maybe even bodywise) but with maybe options for the engine and no NO TURBO... Honda could totally offer the s2000 n/a and make 300+ hp by slightly revamping the F20/22 cylinder head to have iVTEC - think a crossover between the F-series and the K-series while using a 2.4 or 2.5L bottom end... tuners have done this using all Honda parts very reliably and gotten 300+ hp... wouldn't cost much more if more at all that way... they could also offer it w/hybrid option to add more power via electric motor... also keep the manual but offer a DCT paddleshift as an option... hey, none of this is far fetched...
