- As promised another brilliant IGTV this one is part one of a two parter (I shall put the other up tomorrow at 6pm) with Consultant Dermatologist Dr Anjali Mahto - one of my most trusted clinical dermatologists and an absolute skin care encyclopedia. Here she busts the most common myths surrounding skin, skin problems and skincare - tells you what to spend your money on and is, as ever, generally utterly brilliant.

As a specialist cancer physician myself I so appreciate Anjali’s honest, data-driven approach to advice for patients. This is what we must try to do - bust the myths, suggest solutions, provide hope and empower our patients with knowledge. Thank you Anjali and Nadine.
I have thoroughly enjoyed this video, and I got so much out of it. I sat glued to the screen. Thank you so much for asking so many questions that could have come directly from me and my problems, routines, etc. I especially liked that you two tackled several myths--I feel that hearing the answers from a dermatologist has laid them to rest for me.
Wow! 2 Absolutely Brilliant Women! I’m taking notes like a crazy person! Thank you both! Love you Nadine. 💕
Wow never heard someone explain collagen supplements so clearly - sometimes it’s so easy to fall for the advertisements :)
I am so grateful for this upload , thoroughly informative , explained in simple terms that I have learnt so much from ! I hung on this ladies every word (!) please open a clinic in manchester!! Thankyou Nadine , you know how to bring it 💕
Very interesting. I actually removed dairy and processed sugar and my acne disappeared. I didn't change anything else. Love the look of her book, that's on my list.
Fabulous. Thank you so much for the practical, intelligent, information.
This is the content I came for! Thanks Nadine and Anjali.
Great video, very informative and you looked very relaxed and pretty Nadine !!
Skin+Me has completely transformed my hormonal acne skin 👊🏻🥳 Azelaic acid, niacinamide and 0.06% Tret.
Oh my gosh this conversation was amazing to watch.
I was transfixed!
I always learn so much from this channel thank you very much Nadine 🖤🖤🖤🖤
So interesting Nadine I've learnt loads. Thank you x
Nadine, you look exceptionally beautiful today!
The reason why the ordinary peel is being used like that is because of idiots on TikTok doing it for little clout. People watch these short clip videos and just copies them and doesn’t care to read the label. I don’t think the company shouldn’t be blamed for this self induced stupidity.
Thank you and your guest for all this informations. So interesting, love your UA-cam chanel. Hello from România!
Love the conversation about fragrance and alcohol, as an esthetician it upsets me so much when people just turn the other way of amazing products just because the product has a slight amount of alcohol and fragrance
Very informative video. Thank you both!!!!!
Great video, great questions
Where's the previous video you referred to with a list of Dr Anjali's skincare products?
I took collagen powder supplement for about 8 or so weeks and I broke out badly on my chin area for weeks, which was so out of character. I stopped to collagen and the spots stopped. This has reassured me I don’t need it anyway!
Hi x thank you lovely ladies very informative I personally cut dairy when I’m on my period funny because I’m feeling inflammation anyway
Not use acids during the day? Here in Australia I use Vit C & AHAs under my sunblock. In fact several sunblocks have AHAs in them now! I use retinol & peptides at night as Vit C & acids should never be used with either (according to the Ordinary)
Ordered the book! :)
Great video . Loved the previous one too . Will watch again and make some notes 😊. I need to find a new spf , the Ambre Solaire Super UV Anti Dark Spots & Anti Pollution Face Fluid SPF50 which I’m sure I used last year irritates /burns a little , maybe they’ve changed the formula .
I really liked that one last year as it was mattifying but I'm using it again this year and I look shinier. I don't know if that's because of a formulation change or just my skin getting oilier though. I got a new one today and looks like it still has a lot of alcohol.
@@bobthegirl90 yes I noticed it wasn’t as mattifying too . I’m trying heliocare mineral but that’s not suiting me, feels greasy , I end up blotting it before I use any makeup . I used the oil free Heliocare last year and first half of this year but that seems to break me out, nothing too bad but it’s annoying .
@@janeburgess8624 it's hard to find sunscreens that don't make you shiny without spending a fortune!
Brilliant. Thankyou
Niod Survival 30 is great for around the eyes!
Thanks x did the dry skin part happen ?
You look extra beautiful today, Nadine.
Drs eyebrows are incredible
People with SKIN OF COLOUR should not use fragranced skincares incl EO and drying alcohol. Because their skins are more sensitive
As the Dr mentioned it s different from person to person. I am 38 and stopped using perfume and alcohol on my skin in my early 20's because although my skin is oily it is so sensitive to many ingredients. But in my family most people use perfume or anything and rhey have 0 problem. Beautiful even smooth perfect skin, no matter what they put in it when my mum my niece and I must look at every single ingredients. Its always about listening to your skin. If you have any skin issue avoid perfume as rhey don't bring anything. If you have 0 issue and love perfume rhen do whatever but just know one day things might change.
What about skin care advice for older women, over 60's.... thanks 😊
Great video
Skin+Me has transformed my life. I haven't had any breakout since I started using it over 6 months ago. No nasty side-effects either! My skin is still suuuuper super oily though 😒
Using a foaming cleanser helped my oily skin. I watched Caroline Hirons for years who practically made me think foaming cleanser should be illegal so I didn’t use one for years. As soon as I used a foaming one, my skin completely transformed. I wish I had never spent so much on serums and treatments when all I had to do was simply change my cleansers.
@@user-ii4rq5ko3x ahhh see, upon Nadine's advice during the initial mask wearing phase of the pandemic, I invested in the Cerave Foaming Cleansing Gel and that's improved my skin tremendously also, but still by about 2pm my skin is like an oil spillage at sea! Perhaps it's my moisturiser I need to look at. Any advice? Haha
Australian Gold botanical tinted spf 50 has iron oxides in it
Can't find the list on Dr Anjali Mahto product list
Hi Nadine, even if brands are using alcohol to disperse the sunscreen along with other emolients, it does not change the fact that some people just can't take it. And alcohol is not mandatory for that as all my sunscreens I love do not contain alcohol. Drying alcohol break me out and caused hyperpigmentation on my skin unless they are very low in the ingredients list. I had to learned that the very hard way...
Would you be kind enough to list sunscreens you use that don't contain alcohol as I struggle to find one! 🙂
@@JoR00ke Hi I also have a UA-cam channel and in preparation of the summer I published several detailed reviews on sunscreens. None of the products I review on my channel have drying alcohol or perfume because I am extremely sensitive to it. For the sunscreens you have both Dr Sams sunscreens, Altruist sunscreens, Cotz sunscreens who only make mineral type sunscreens, Mommy sunscreen (japanese brand which I reviewed in my favorite sunscreen for the winter), Paulas Choice sunscreens which I have not had the time to review yet, Colour Science which I plan on buying next and also Dr V which also has a channel and recently launched a mineral sunscreen. Hope it helps!
@@HereDiianas Hi, many thanks for your comprehensive reply, much appreciated, I'll check out your video 😃
@@HereDiianas Just had a look at your channel. Very good. I like how you point out what products you wouldn’t buy instead of just advising people on what to try. ☺️
Question: If you have a moment, can you please make a recommendation for a way to wash my face since I am disabled and can’t bend at the sink. I’ve been using wipes, but I want to do better for our planet 🌏 and I really can’t get my face as clean as I would like. Thank you for all you do for us.
I use ‘ Simple ‘ cleansing oil and a warm wet flannel so don’t put my head over the basin . I do this twice just wringing out the hot flannel each time and I do use a clean flannel each night . I have made sure that I have at least a dozen cheap flannels on the go otherwise you would run out .between washing them . I find the Simple cleansing oil leaves my skin feeling perfect not too dry and certainly not too greasy, just right . I have been using it for years and whenever I stray to another cleanser I realise I have to return to that oil !!
A cleanser like LaRoche Posay Toleraine cleanser is creamy and won’t drip, and won’t strip your skin. You can rub it onto dry or slightly damp skin, and then use a damp cloth to remove it. As the other person suggested, a cleansing oil or balm is would be the same. Apply to dry skin and remove with a damp rag, rinsing the rag, ringing it out, and removing again. I usually follow oil or balm cleansers with another non oil cleanser, but it isn’t always required, as long as it rinses clean.
I hope that helps!
Hi Nadine, since menopause am suffering with very dry skin everywhere and skin on my face is so dull
Any suggestions please Thank you xxxx
Definitely check out videos she's done with hormone specialists - but also, Caroline Hirons has an Instagram called Skinrocks where she has dedicated interviews with hormone specialists and a focus on skincare for menopause (she even did a dedicated skincare box for this) 👍🏻
Thank you so much xx
@@rbaker368 thank you so much for this xx
Where first video?
Nadine look at the no7 foundation drops. I've combined this with kids mineral suncream for years. No need for foundation.
I do that too. The drops mix into any of my sunscreens and give a lovely finish.
@@cindywharton5558 I'm curious why people on these channels arent discussing this. It's not perfect doesn't replace foundation but is a good tinted moisturizer
It's obviously a well kept secret! I use it for work to cut down on time. I was colour matched in Boots so I know that the foundation drops are the perfect colour for me.
I’ve not heard / seen foundation drops before . I’ve got tan drops. Also which kids mineral sunscreen do you use?
@@janeburgess8624 all honesty I use boot soltan or superdrug solait. I can use regular adult spf but because I use retin a I have sensitivity so I'm currently using the childs version. Spf 30. I press any shine in my skin and use thin layers not one thick layer.
You should look for fast hair growth fortified shampoo.
About perfumed products, I think people should also be aware that when fragrance is listed on makeup or skincare, it is used as an umbrella phrase to hide 1000s of chemicals they have no obligation to disclose. Its scary.
