  • Testing out the Cape Cod Large Metal Polishing Cloths on my Tudor Black Bay 41 Heritage Harrods Edition ref. 79230G
The tin includes twelve 4" x 6" polishing cloths, and seven latex gloves.
I am selling this watch and wanted to see if I could improve the appearance of the fine scratches that are visible on the mirrored case flanks.
Being careful not to be too wasteful by cutting off small strips of the cloth to begin with and ensuring I wore the included protective gloves, I then began.
This video runs through what is included in the tin, the appropriate technique to use when manually polishing with a cloth like this and compares the before and after surfaces.

Cape Cod is great, Rolex's best friend. Its really fun to bring back the original pristine surfaces.

For those Oyster bracelets, be sure to tape off the brushed surfaces with scotch so they don't get shiny.

You're braver than I! But also I don't some scuffs on a watch. It's normal! Best of luck with the sale though..they're getting one good looking watch!

I had some trepidation, but I researched it well and watched lots of other vids proving it worked. Turned out well!

You actually made what could have been a contender for Dullest Video of the Year quite interesting. 😂
I've bought one of the Cape Cod cloths, so I'm just scouting around UA-cam learning from others' experience before I attempt to remove one small scratch from an otherwise pristine watch.

Hi there, looks so good i think, thank you so much 🙏🏻
There are hairline scratches on the small shiny area above the crown on the right side of my watch. But the area is too small... (Hamilton khaki aviation pilot day date auto - Cooper)
There's something i'm really curious about, will anything bad happen if cape code touches non-shiny surfaces?

Nothing bad will happen if it’s a light touch. But if you repeatedly brush the cloths against the non-polished surface, you will start to lose the brushed finish as the cloth begins to polish the surface. It’s ok to use a piece of electrical tape to protect the brushed areas.

There’s only so much space in the metaphorical closet. Yeah the Tudor was a beauty, but there’s plenty more fish in the sea. Onwards!

Polishing watches is a major offence.

I completely understand that sentiment if it were a brushed edge, but polishing the already polished edges?
