I, too, use my 8se at home with an extension cord. Also, have batteries installed just in case power is lost just to save alignment.

What is the power adapter specs AC to DC you are using. Or maybe just the Model number I can research for it.

Nice battery pack and pricey. I haven't got into astrophotography just but that would be great for away from home trips. Thanks for info.

Haha yeah, that's why I'm borrowing the power station.

A $90 Harbor Freight inverter works just as well with a deep discharge battery for less than $200.

    Love the large battery pack…wow.
Too bad the mount cannot be plugged into an external home plug.

Something that gets missed in most situations using a extension cord. Cord length and wire gauge of that cord can impact the available current at the end of that cord depending on the devices being used. A 16ga. cord at even 50ft will run everything on a rig but if you add, let' say, a space heater, the devices will need more than what can efficiently pass through that cord without heating up and affecting the other devices. I've seen people run 100ft 16ga extension cords and wonder why things don't work as expected. The spec's on the extension cord are noted on the packaging of the cord when purchased and it's best to get a proper length and appropriate amperage rating for the application.

Can you align it accurately using the double a battery

To an extent, the batteries don't always provide a good consistent power, so alignment never seems to be as good.

Wouldn't something like the Celestron 18774-CGL PowerTank 7 be any use? Only £100.

It probably would be. I've stuck mainly with the extension cord as it's something I already own :)

That power cord looks like a standard power cord. Crazy it’s not included
