I am 40 years old & I remember my Tutor turning me onto Thomas Sowell as a child, I also remember as a young adult reading articles in magazines that would really be derogatory towards Mr. Sowell. As far back as Elementary School I can remember his words shaping my belief system & ideology. It has always amazed me that Thomas Sowell has not been Celebrated throughout the years for all of his accomplishments. It’s a little late but it is awesome to finally see his name being shared dare I say the mainstream, the more that people are turned onto Thomas
Sowell, the more Positivity & Understanding will be shared between one another!!

Dr. Ben Carson says the same thing about the library. Did you know that most of the good ideas and changes that improved things during the Trump Admin came straight out of Dr. Ben Carson's campaign platform? Hillary made a deal with the talking heads of the mainstream media to ignore Dr. Carson, minimize coverage of him, because he was the person she was terrified of running against. The term getto comes from when the Nazis waĺled off a portion of Warsaw Poland and kept the jews. They were separated from society in general. In Judaism, a Get, is a divorce decree. The place of the divorce is now the Getto. Separation from society and the good life is getto. There has been no decree made that anyone should be in a getto mindset. We can rise above our circumstances.

Why do some black people bring up reparations and feel this would make things fair. Do they not realize that black people themselves used slavery for hundreds of years and actually enslaved white southern Europeans long before the white man purchased Africans for slaves. White men very rarely captured black people for slaves. They Instead bought them from other black men who had originally enslaved them. So for some black people to think that reparations are needed to make things fair and even they truly must be unaware of history or they simply are whining because they are lazy. Black people also used slavery along time after predominantly white cultures banned the use of slave labor. So it seems to me that if black people want reparations then they should first give reparations otherwise they simply lack an understanding of equality or what fair is.

I'm a 52 year old white guy married to a 50 year old Korean woman. We have 1 child, a 23 year old son. My wife was born in South Korea but adopted by a white American family as a baby. My wife's friend calls her a Twinkie, yellow on the outside and white on the inside. Wife agrees, she does not act like the stereotypical Asian raised by Asian parents. I say all this for detail. My son of course looks mostly like his mother. He is very intelligent and a very conservative Trump supporter. We all are. Anyway, in 2019 or so my son stumbled onto Thomas Sowell on youtube and mentioned him to me. I already knew who he was. I told him to really listen to what Sowell says as he is a brilliant man and very wise from life experience. If more black Americans listened to Sowell's words without getting offended the black community would be much better off. If you continously tell people they can't do for themselves, eventually they start to believe it. If you remove assistants if someone dares to get out of poverty, the problem still persists. Education is the greatest assistance that a person can receive.

My mom, who is 96, picked cotton, walked 3 miles to school and back, and she finished 12th grade.
My dad served in WWII in Germany and only finished 8th grade.
These two people managed to buy a home, put a daughter through college, and drive cadillacs.
My other relatives who come from the same background, some graduated from college, built houses, owned businesses, put children through college too. None of them lived off the government.

The group I was in didn’t finish the project or even come close but the other group finished theirs and had time let over. This is what I think is going on in the black community, they are constantly told it’s someone else’s fault that they can’t succeed, and when you hear that everyday they start to believe it. Here’s the worst part.I believe they are being told these things purposely in order to keep them dependent

This is great insight. People invariably live up to expectations. If you are expected to fail as in the case with your group project, then failure is the outcome. There are 2 distinct cultures in Black America today. I see those that are rooted in the old school ways. They are taught that education is the true key to freedom. They are expected to succeed and they often do. Then there are those raised in the street culture which is not only the norm lately but is also crossing the racial boundaries to white kids that emulate the same street mentality. These are the ones expected to fail and they often do! Most importantly, the home culture is where this divide truly seems to begin. Even kids in the hood or ghetto that have the right messages in their family home can overcome and find their opportunities. Those that are taught otherwise, or to be the victim of racism, are expected to not succeed. Denzel Washington is another favorite person of mine. He has it right on the money with his perspectives!

Ive read a couple of Thomas Sowell's books and have listened to his interviews, etc. and the guy does his homework. His insights are penetrating and unknown to the masses. Its a shame that his work is not taught in many colleges and we know why. Thanks for sharing.

I was being interviewed by my daughter yesterday evening. She is in her 30’s and easily lives a six figure life style. Her big question to me was how do I view her as a successful entrepreneur.
We had a beautiful conversation about how I grew up, how I did as a father and the results of her opportunities regarding her as a successful woman.
There were many times she was stunned by my answers to her questions. She didn’t know many of my experiences and beliefs about family and success.
I honored her and the success she has made. I honored her and the beauty in her family.
It was the first time I was able to verbalize what I have been observing of her these last 13 years.
I feel and I believe the same about any group who refuses to focus on a narrative that gives them a reason to be a victim.
I hope to meet MR Sowel before I die or after … I don’t care which. I just want to get to know the man.
My military unit has a unique crest of crossed daggers and these words. MR Sowell embodies them well by encouraging people to take charge of their own future like my daughter has done.

God bless you sir for your channel and your effort to help others to find their own voice and then to use it.

I only discovered Mr Sowell about 3 years ago, and I've always lived in black neighborhoods and gone to black schools, and I'm really upset that he wasn't ever mentioned in highschool. Also being non black I grew up with black folks and rarely felt hated because of my skin. Occasionally you would run into the random asshole but it was rare. Man the times have changed. We are doomed to repeat history. Because we're actively teaching CRT.

Yeah, we got 2 political groups (leftist liberals/Democrats) actively teaching Americans, especially young children to be racist again. Dividing people gets more votes. Just look at the last election where people hated Trump so much they Hate Voted his opposition who is a blatant racist that has been caught many times on video and audio saying the most racist things imaginable. But trump got called racist for saying he love tacos (im not a big supporter of trump or like him that much outside of entertainment media he is in). like WTF kinda clown world we live in?

In the UK there's a wide variation in dialects, anyone who looks down on you for the way you speak or your accent, the issue is theirs not yours.
I'm Scottish, if you've seen Chewing the Fat, you'll know how our accent gets over egged and mocked. It is what it is though, everyone is different, celebrating and enjoying these differences is part of being human.
