I swear I just caught 8 Eevees over the last 2 days all females to have all the Evolutions in my Ultra Moon playthrough, I'm going to beat Pokemon Sun with 6 of them when it arrives on Tuesday👍
I want to see a steel eevee! Call it Chromeon and give it bladed attacks. Make it like the T-1000! 😂 There should be an eeveeloution for each type. I’d love to see an eevee that looked like the Thing! Clobberin’ time!
It isn't weak per se. It just has its stats in all the wrong places. It has Guts and a high physical attack, but it's a Fire type so it can't use a Flame Orb and has to use a Toxic Orb, and it has no good physical Fire moves apart from Flare Blitz which just means it destroys itself with recoil. And then it has a totally wasted 110 SpDef, a defensive Fire type is quite useless.
Interesting, I used Sylveon briefly in my shield playthrough, but it kept getting KO'd. My Umbreon on the other hand, survived everything and made it into the hall of fame. Heck, I used it to defeat Leon.
Jolteon, Espeon and Vaporeon are all in my top 10, but as far as I'm concerned the best of them all is the water type. Whenever possible I try to use Vaporeon, as it still stands as the only Pokemon never to fail me.
It's sad that Jolteon's movepool is so shallow, as it's probably my favorite Eeveelution. I really wish GameFreak add more moves to it's movepool or switch it's Attack and Special Defense stats around that way it could be a mixed attacker. Yeah this would make Jolteon even more of a glass cannon, but no one ever uses Jolteon as a wall. Being a wall isn't Jolteon's job, it's job is to be a speedy, hard hitting attacker.
Get it high enough level and you can 1shot almost anything with thunderbolt, 1 or 2 shot rock/steel types with double kick, 1 or 2 shot psychic/grass types with pin missile
I feel you. I'm struggling with a good move set in SS rn. What I came up with was substitute / electro ball / weather ball / round But it's just not cutting it. :/
bloodflower4141 get rid of substitute and weather ball, teach a stab electric move such as thunderbolt, or discharge. The last move have fun with it! Though I suggest using a sp. atk move to take advantage of jolteon’s strengths. Hyper beam is fun but unnecessary if you have Round. If you can teach signal beam, at 75 power on a special attack it isn’t bad and has coverage of psychic and grass types. Shadow ball is fun to use too.
I'm pretty sure we are getting a dragon and bug eeveelution in them because in the Dex entry for sylveon and leafeon it has galar in them while the others are unchanged it says there is a galar fairytale where sylveon defeats a dragon and the galar people love leafeon sweet scent. So since the move sweet scent is mostly for the bug type as well as in the anime Lana jokes about evoling her Eevee into a bug type.
Jolteon has always been my favorite so im happy that it at least reached in the decent list of eeveelutions, because no matter what team i use, i make sure i got jolteon in there
I never knew a single thing about pokemon before this game so I wanted to thank the content creator for all the info in this vid. There's so much to know & it can be off-putting so to have videos like this is absolutely essential for people like me.
Well done on not showing bias. My favourite will always be Vaporeon because I used it as a water type in countless play throughs going all the way back to gen 1. I can only use sylveon if it’s shiny, not a fan of its normal colours.
Jolteon is my favorite Pokémon of all time. I know it’s not the best competitively, but still. Also, if you removed legendaries and Megas, it’s the third fastest Pokemon (tied with Aerodactyl and Crobat). Speed is also my fav stat.
Every single Eeveelution with perfect IVs and relevant Hidden Abilities. Took me a whole summer but I got there. And a Shiny Eevee to boot. Just a shame only saw Sylveon top tier meta play in XY through USUM.
I enjoyed using Glaceon, and don't play competitive, so I use her anyway! I get that Mystic uses competition in all his lists (which is fine) but it does nothing for me, so this list would turn out differently lol.
For me Jolteon is one of the best. As for the moves I would give him: -Thunder -Rain Dance -Weather Ball -Protect I would make him Modest and give him a Flame Orb because he's got an hidden ability like "guts" but for speed.
Why need speed when you're already very fast? For me, I would recommend leftovers along with your preferred moves more for HP recovery along with protect to stall for turns. In my opinion, i think it's better to have a Drizzle pokemon on the team and replace Rain Dance with another coverage move.
Agree with a lot but here’s my contribution Glaceon Flareon Espeon-has no way to hit steel types so fails as a wallbreaker in OU Umbreon-dark types are powerful due to the increased ghosts but the versitility of aegi, geng and draga makes it so umbreon doesn’t reliably wall. Also umbreon suffers from being predictable. Jolteon-surprisingly viable on hail teams with the weather ball bolt-beam set Leafeon 🍃 The most underrated one. Deals with vish and zolt which no other mon in the game can accomplish. Copycat is The coverage it needed to spread its wings this gen. Vaporeon-reliable bulky water types can always wall a plethora of mons. Sylveon-core on many OU teams. Walls many dragons and dark types. Can also go on the offensive with the new mystical fire.
@Emmanuel Diesta shiftry is better then leafeon but im hella sure virizion isnt like leafeon is the 2nd best mon under the sun with bands and sblade it creates havoc for a team that doesnt have good grass resist
@@olly_lmao For OU, espeon is so gimmicky, u can get OH-koed if trying to switch in on rockers like exca and ferrothorn. And every team has corvi or ferro so espeon is dead weight only a decent revenge killer
@@multiYellowHorse espeon is also a backstabber for prankster abusers like whimsicott and grimmsnarl but be carefup with grimsnarl it can kill espeon with a false surrender
You know what's weird about leafeon how long it took considering grass types were the most common type especially in early generations. But we got Flair, Vape and Jolt. I figured it should've here that the grass type but Serge and his Raichu is how evolution stones were introduced. But then it was the all powerful Umbr who came out in the Johto er... silver and gold.
When I was kid, I was so obsessed with eeveelution. I watched tribute videos and those eevee fanfic stories XD people loved shipping Umbreon with Espeon
Hot take: Fire-type Pokémon should not get the Guts ability. There’s no guarantee that your opponent will be able to status you, and Flame Orb and Toxic Orb are the only held items that give the holder a status condition. Flame Orb doesn’t work on Fire-types, so they have to use Toxic Orb and lose a lot of HP each turn, which is way too inconvenient for me and probably many others.
I don't think this is a hot take at all, I believe most people would agree with you (In fact, I agree with you). However, we have to remember that Flareon got the Guts ability before the buff that made Fire-types immune to burn (Flareon got its HA during Gen 5, while the buff happened on Gen 6), it even used to be its go to ability. It's quite ironic, the buff that allowed quite a few Physical Fire-types to shine more is the same thing that nerfed and cursed Flareon even more in the competitive scene.
Maybe they should make additional orbs for the other status conditions, does Guts work with Confusion or Attraction? (prob not, but I am not sure) A para orb would work wonders for Guts users that don't care about speed, but I can imagine a lot of competetive players wouldn't appreciate the chance to not move. Sleep orb is maybe controversial bc unlike Rest talk pokemon, you wouldn't need to waste a move slot on rest and would also at least get one of 3 useful moves off, (though granted you wouldn't have recovery, unless said Pokemon also gets Recover etc).
iirc toxic orbs and flame orbs inflict the same amount of health loss as the ‘toxic orb’ doesnt really cause a ‘toxic’ status, just a normal poison status, which causes the same 1/16 hp per turn damage... right?
Glaceon carried me through X/Y when I was able to make first eeveelution team, and all of the other eeveelution didn't seem to be able to hold a candle to it. But I suppose I don't play competitive or generally dick around with EVs or IVs
As someone who used to play competitive and spent a lot of time into breeding for the best Ev's/iv's , I can tell you - my glaceon was the strongest pokemon on my team. Dont get me wrong, my team was in general very strong and prepared for most situations, but glaceon was my tank. It lasted in battle the longest, and would K.O most opponents with it's ice beam without a sweat. It shocks me, honestly, that he put glaceon at the bottom of the list, but maybe a lot has changed since i stopped playing pokemon some years ago.
@@crystalshard1925 didnt play those. Also, i mentionted that I was playing competitive with my team (aka. Against other people). The newer pokemon games' main stories are easy as fuck to beat tho, youre right.
Ever since I saw that fan art picture of Flareon being the last one to be adopted from Pokémon trainer leaf, Flareon became my favorite because it’s an underdog!!
I’ve been a fan of the eeveeloutions ever since I started playing Pokemon. The designs are enough to keep me interested in them, but they’re all so cute and a joy to have on any team ❤
I honestly never considered it before, but I agreed that all of the Eeveelutions should have an ability similar to Pixelate for their respective typing. It really is Sylveon's greatest advantage over the other Eeveelutions and would make sense for the evolutionary line. Hell, it might even bring Flareon into the spotlight for once
Fire-type boosted Last Resort? That would become 168 base power before STAB, and it's a physical move so going from 130 base Atk. Yeah that would make Flareon awesome.
When I'm thinking after I find out what is sylveon's passive I was like "Wait then that's mean, sylveon could use hyperbeam and make it into a fairy type mega cannon.that's cool and scary😬😁"
It’s not great because hyper beam isn’t an amazing move. You get 150 power sure but it only hits 90% at base which means 1/10 times you miss, on top of that you skip a turn after you use it. This means it works out to be a 75 power move per turn, and you’re required to use 2 turns in a row and it’ll miss 1/10 times. For those reasons it’s not quite as strong as it seems at first. Better to use hyper voice, 90 base power, only requires 1 turn, and hits 100% at base.
I need to put some respect out there for my boy Leafeon! His ability Chlorophyll can easily turn him into a physical sweeper by doubling his already pretty decent speed at 95. On top of this you didn't mention that they also learn Dig as a fantastic coverage move! They also learn synthesis which when paired with sunlight can keep him topped off on health with his incredible physical bulk.
My top 3 fave eeveelution 1- Vaporeon (used Vaporeon during my second playthrough of Pokemon sun it's a goofy Pokemon mines was the best in defense and special attack) 2-Umbreon (Like in video a great defensive Pokemon my Umbreon was good in speed and defense) 3-Sylveon (good special attack Pokemon just couldn't fit it on my team because they already had Gardevoir in Pokemon ultra sun)
Espeon is def my favorite, but Sylveon is honestly amazing. Plus I love the design! Poor Flareon and Glaceon. They’re just terrible when it comes to the meta game.
My ranking: 8. *Flareon* 7. *Glaceon* 6. *Umbreon* 5. *Vaporeon* 4. *Sylveon* 3. *Jolteon* 2. *Leafeon* (This one is criminally underrated) 1. *Espeon* The top 3 are easily the best ones though, probably because they're the only ones that aren't slow as molasses.

Mudkip971 I actually agree with Phil Huntsman. The game will probably give a warning that “this Pokémon has moves that cannot be accessed in this generation” or something along those lines. And if you choose to continue. Those moves will be removed from said pokemon. You really think gamefreak and Nintendo haven’t got a handle on this? Come on dude!

I’ve been experimenting with Eevee evolutions, and I find it boils down to which nature and moves it knows. Not to mention what item it uses. One of my Vaporeons (modest nature) has been battling holding an assault vest and its a really awesome battler. Plus I had my Leafeon use Bite, a Dark type move it can naturally learn. It’s a good alternative to Knock Off.
I agree completely. My glaceon was the strongest pokemon i had ever bred and used in my team. I made sure the Ev's and Iv's would make up for its weakness in speed and make even stronger its special attack so it would truly be devastating in battle and K.O. most pokemon. It's nature of "hasty" was also crucial, for sure. In the end of the day, you can make even the generally considered "meh" pokemon really awesome if you work hard on its Ev's, Iv's , nature, item and move set.
Sylveon is my favorite before I knew it was good, I read the pokedex entry about wrapping its ribbon around their beloved trainer and I smiled because it is wholesome.

If you want evee to evolve into a ghost type, you just use a brick stone.
I love Flareon and it always pained me that it was so weak :( I'd love for it to get some buffs, but oh well.
Umbreon still tankier but espeon dishes out more dmg
Jolteon, Espeon and Vaporeon are all in my top 10, but as far as I'm concerned the best of them all is the water type. Whenever possible I try to use Vaporeon, as it still stands as the only Pokemon never to fail me.
I'd be concerned if they weren't in your top 10 considering there are only 7 eeveeloutions.
@@glennthehelper4524 theres 8 eeveloutons. and i think they mean those 3 are in their top 10 pokemon
I've been using Jolteon for years every chance that I get just because it's my favorite and I love the fact that it's the speedster of the bunch.
Get it high enough level and you can 1shot almost anything with thunderbolt, 1 or 2 shot rock/steel types with double kick, 1 or 2 shot psychic/grass types with pin missile
I feel you. I'm struggling with a good move set in SS rn. What I came up with was substitute / electro ball / weather ball / round
But it's just not cutting it. :/
bloodflower4141 get rid of substitute and weather ball, teach a stab electric move such as thunderbolt, or discharge.
@@himynameiscoreyThx I'll give Shadow Ball a try. Signal Beam is no longer available in gen 8 😥

I'm pretty sure we are getting a dragon and bug eeveelution in them because in the Dex entry for sylveon and leafeon it has galar in them while the others are unchanged it says there is a galar fairytale where sylveon defeats a dragon and the galar people love leafeon sweet scent. I never knew a single thing about pokemon before this game so I wanted to thank the content creator for all the info in this vid. There's so much to know & it can be off-putting so to have videos like this is absolutely essential for people like me.
I love how at the last seconds of your videos like this you play soundtracks from the previous pokemon installments. Very nostalgic, takes me back.
what music was the one in this video? i don't remember 😭
Well done on not showing bias. My favourite will always be Vaporeon because I used it as a water type in countless play throughs going all the way back to gen 1. I can only use sylveon if it’s shiny, not a fan of its normal colours.
I absolutely adore Jolteon, the design, the stats, movepool. I try to get one on all my teams
I would swap Espeon and Sylveon, but this is a pretty solid list. I think the biggest shock is Jolteon being so low.
I agree because it can hit hard and is pretty fast
Jolteon is my favorite Pokémon of all time. I know it’s not the best competitively, but still. Also, if you removed legendaries and Megas, it’s the third fastest Pokemon (tied with Aerodactyl and Crobat). Speed is also my fav stat.
Jolteon is my number 1 in Pokémon stadiums games.
Every single Eeveelution with perfect IVs and relevant Hidden Abilities. Took me a whole summer but I got there. And a Shiny Eevee to boot. Just a shame only saw Sylveon top tier meta play in XY through USUM.
I dig that new background
Espeon and Umbreon are still my favourites; those 'pain in the butt to get's (well, back in gen 2 they were) lol
I like them too
Glaceon, no!!! My favorite Eeveelution. I mean it's true that in competitive it's not good, but in a playthrough, it's fun for me to use.
I enjoyed using Glaceon, and don't play competitive, so I use her anyway! I get that Mystic uses competition in all his lists (which is fine) but it does nothing for me, so this list would turn out differently lol.
I have a feeling that u read revelation squad
@@vwl0780 why would you think that?
@@babaeggue Since Glaceon is the most loved character in eeveelution squad
For me Jolteon is one of the best. As for the moves I would give him:
-Thunder
-Rain Dance
-Weather Ball
-Protect
I would make him Modest and give him a Flame Orb because he's got an hidden ability like "guts" but for speed.
Why need speed when you're already very fast? For me, I would recommend leftovers along with your preferred moves more for HP recovery along with protect to stall for turns. In my opinion, i think it's better to have a Drizzle pokemon on the team and replace Rain Dance with another coverage move.
So happy Vaporian was so high. Love how it can use dig so you can combact electric and ice beam to combact grass.
Agree with a lot but here’s my contribution
Glaceon
Flareon
Espeon-has no way to hit steel types so fails as a wallbreaker in OU
Umbreon-dark types are powerful due to the increased ghosts but the versitility of aegi, geng and draga makes it so umbreon doesn’t reliably wall. Also umbreon suffers from being predictable.
Jolteon-surprisingly viable on hail teams with the weather ball bolt-beam set
Leafeon 🍃 The most underrated one. Deals with vish and zolt which no other mon in the game can accomplish. Copycat is
The coverage it needed to spread its wings this gen.
Espeon's role in a team was changed in gen 5. It is now an anti-lead with magic bounce. Hazards? Lol nope.
You aren’t using espeon right.

But then it was the all powerful Umbr who came out in the Johto er... silver and gold.

(prob not, but I am not sure)
A para orb would work wonders for Guts users that don't care about speed, but I can imagine a lot of competetive players wouldn't appreciate the chance to not move. Sleep orb is maybe controversial bc unlike Rest talk pokemon, you wouldn't need to waste a move slot on rest and would also at least get one of 3 useful moves off, (though granted you wouldn't have recovery, unless said Pokemon also gets Recover etc).
U speak the truth
Grass types
iirc toxic orbs and flame orbs inflict the same amount of health loss as the ‘toxic orb’ doesnt really cause a ‘toxic’ status, just a normal poison status, which causes the same 1/16 hp per turn damage...
Well, X and Y are easy asf but ok

When I'm thinking after I find out what is sylveon's passive I was like
"Wait then that's mean, sylveon could use hyperbeam and make it into a fairy type mega cannon.that's cool and scary😬😁"

I thought having a hyperbeam on sylveon is a good idea
@@leonardostevensen77 I probably did the ivs or something wrong but I dont remember that strategy working well for some reason
@@glazermon so any other ideas?😐🤔
It’s not great because hyper beam isn’t an amazing move. You get 150 power sure but it only hits 90% at base which means 1/10 times you miss, on top of that you skip a turn after you use it. This means it works out to be a 75 power move per turn, and you’re required to use 2 turns in a row and it’ll miss 1/10 times. For those reasons it’s not quite as strong as it seems at first. Better to use hyper voice, 90 base power, only requires 1 turn, and hits 100% at base.
Jolteon is my favourite eeveelution and is tied for my second favourite Pokemon. I think he could have been a bit higher but respect your opinion.

Mudkip971 I actually agree with Phil Huntsman. The game will probably give a warning that “this Pokémon has moves that cannot be accessed in this generation” or something along those lines.
