Megadeth - Tornado of Souls Guitar and Bass Cover (No Backing Track)

- Thanks for watching everyone, I recorded the guitars using Amplitube Metal and the Bass with Ampeg. If anyone wants the patches for the tones feel free to email me Lambchopper678@me.com
Let me know if you prefer the 3 windows over the alternating for the next vid.
Anyways thanks for watching
Many people do covers of songs with backing tracks or even the original song turned up loud enough to cover up all the little mistakes like unwanted reverb or fuzz, ghost notes, missed or muted notes, etc. Covering Megadeth songs without backing tracks and putting them up for the world to see takes confidence in your skill and dedication, both of which you have in spades.
Excellent stuff, man. You played this airtight and nailed the solos. Subscribed!
+Sir Psycho Sexy I appreciate that mate, thank you. Megadeth are amazing
I know what you mean but the songs sound so empty... but they're spot on tempos though!
Sir Psycho Sexy this seems like an easy song through ?
DoomGhoul lol try playing it...
@@BaxzXD I bet you cant even play Fade to Black Rhythm Parts
Giving that bass the ol' Metallica mix.
Good one. :-)
Hell yeah, the bass is lost in the mix here =(
The good ol' no bass, no trouble treatment
Came to the comments section to comment something that'd been up for 2 years 😂😂🤘🏾
What are you talking about, I can hear the bass just fine
Nice attempt at one of the most bad ass solos in metal history
perfectcircle It recently got voted as one of the best all-time solos on Planet Rock, up there with stairway to heaven and comfortably numb et al.

This morning I made the call
The one that ends it all...
Got me ya bastard
Antonio Sevilla It's a cheap Jackson JS-2. It plays really well and built really solid
Awesome !
Will you do some bass cover of other songs?
I don't class myself as a bassist by any means. So far I've only done it to compliment my guitar covers. If I were ever to attempt a bass cover it'd have to be something from Maiden. Steve Harris is amazing.
The trick to down picking speed is to relax. Play along with tracks like this and when you tense up and fatigue, stop for a little and go back and start again. You do that for an hour or so and suddenly your right hand will feel loose and relaxed. It stops being a muscular action and becomes a reflex twitch. As soon as you feel that then you can keep up with any record and even try to downpick parts that you usually alternate pick.
It might take a bit of work but you'll know what I'm talking about when it happens
The key to downpicking is endurance - if you can't downpick for long then there is no point. What I did was practice something that requires fast downpicking speed (like master of puppets) for a few days until I could get to around 180 BPM and keep at that speed for a few minutes. Then every now and then I practice downpicking to refresh my skills and gradually improve. The trick is not to push yourself too hard - you will know your limit when you dont get any faster. As with all your playing, you will get better over time though - it's not like downpicking and alternate picking are completely different things.
That Jackson lead guitar is fucking nice!!!
They don't sound as good as they look. I record the video on the iPhone and the audio through GarageBand and sync them in either GarageBand or Final Cut Pro
One of the best solos from Megadedth. You nailed it 99%, very good job. Marty would be proud man!
Great Cover but, you should increase the bass volume
0:50 but now i'm safe in the eeeeeye of the tornadoooo, i can't replace the lies, that let a 1000 days go, no more living trapped inside in her way i'll surely die in the eye of the tornado, blow me away! 1:10
This is very sexy, no tictac for metronome, no loud back track for guitars, drums.. just so raw sound like back in the days at megadeth. I feel the classic megadeth days on your covers. Go on !!
email me so I can share Lambchopper678@me.com
Dude, that was epic! Awesome cover. Congrats!
The way u play this song so smoothly inspires me
and makes me wanna play songs this difficult. You are an inspiration.
Back when I was playing I attempted this solo on numerous occasuons but gave up. Yo see someone just play it so gracefully and practically sound perfect is fkn impressive
Yes! Finally a good cover of the solo! Great job!
just goes to show how badass Sir Dave Mustaine is for keeping that speed and precision during the whole song...
thanks man your videos are so clear and precise I'm learning stuff I though would always be beyond my skill. Definitely some of the best covers on youtube.
Thank you man, appreciated
This is the only cover I've found so far that plays at speed with down strokes.
Thanks man, I use amplitube metal and ampeg svx for the guitar and bass tones. To get all the images on the one screen you overlay the 3 clips and shrink the secondary clips dragging them to the top and bottom corners leaving the main clip in the centre. You can feather the edges so they blend in without hard lines. Getting them to rotate to the centre is a little tricky I guess
One of my favorite solos of all time in any genre
Flawless dude, your cover made me appreciate Daves work even more and realize the genius in him. Great work man, you gained a sub. \m/
man your tone is literaly perfect, as always
that is one of my favorite guitar solos all time .... Nailed it to wall ... awesome dude
Perfect sound and amazing plaything! This to me is defidently the best Tornado of Souls cover on UA-cam!
Thanks man but I'd check out Ryan Khin, he is the real deal with this one
Holy shit! My jaw dropped hearing the solo. It sounds just as good if not better than the studio version. I'm sure Marty Friedman would smile at this performance!
You can actually play! It’s exciting to see someone playing with no backtrack. This is very impressive.
Ouuah ... the solo of my dream i hope i can play this masterpiece a day. Very nice cover dude !
Love it, dude!, amazing job
Just watched you video and really enjoyed it... I can't believe anyone has the nerve to post anything negative. I play guitar and know that covering any megadeth is a difficult task... It's technical speed metal for sure...
I think you did a great job bro...
No words to explain how excellent this is.. Great skills!
Beautifully done mate 🤘
THAT WAS SICK! I'd be content with life being able to play those. Nice job.
Superb cover. As usual. Flawless and emotional.
Cheers man.
In your list of videos, which is the hardest song to play for you?
awesome work mate. respect dude !!
Amazing cover. I thought it was pretty cool how you use your pinky for power chords. You were spot on with it pretty much the whole time. Way better than myself. I've got a long ways to go before I'm as good as someone like you!
Bravo mate!!!!!! I'm glad that I stumbled upon your channel, great stuff! Where are you learning these songs from?
Such a great cover it sounds like the real track from the album keep up the good work!!!
Hey, great cover.
A couple questions though
How do you get the multiple videos into one like that ( not really sure how to explain it haha)
and also, what do you use for recording your amps?
Thanks man, I can do the solo a lot better these days, thinking about having another go. One of the coolest songs ever
without seeing him, or hearing him speak, i deduce he's australian because of the camphor chest behind him that his granny probably bought him for christmas when he was 15 or 16 to use as a glory box... mine is in the garage, haha... super cover, man - be proud of your work
Lol, something like that
You make that solo look TOO easy!
Very nice technique, especially the right hand.
Sick dude!!
Ótimo músico e ótima edição!!!!
Marty is so melodic! incredible guitarist.
How long have you been playing ? Extremely solid cover man.
Thanks. I really appreciate it!
Perfect fucking solo man! I got the ear for music like you obviously do. So I hear it note for note. And you hit em all, right fuckin on man! Pat yourself on the back for me man!
awesome awesome awesome awesome
Best cover in UA-cam...
Fair enough, I'm a guitar player who only recently bought a bass to fill in the blanks on my own projects. I never intended to be a bass player, my total play time would be under 20 hours. I don't think I missed any notes and it doesn't sound too bad so that's what you get lol.
Thanks man, I use the amplitube stealth plug, but I have used others through the mac and they work fine without the asio error you're talking about
Kickass, wonder how Dave felt when he wrote this album..
The guitar solo fade was awesome, sweet editing
Congratulations!!! Good Job, Bro. Greetings.
It's excellent man! I like this))
Great job bro!
May I know for how many years have you been playing the electric guitar?
And for how many hours a day?
And how much time did you take to cover the guitar part including solo?
Arko Pal thank you, I've been playing for just over 20 years and play about a half our a day
Thanks!
Im going to start using this method when i start uploading covers. DO you have any tips on recording with mics? ( To record something like your mini stacks)
Awesome Job!!
Great cover!
I'm just doing that myself with Sweet Child o' Mine. Start slow building up speed gradually. I've been playing 10 years or so, but my technique was terrible (I was a lazy player). I couldn't even tremelo pick due to the tension i'd built up. Since Oct picking speed has gone from around 90bpm (quarter beats) to 200bpm. Now i've greatly improved the picking technique it'll be time to start taking on better solos! Subscribed by the way :)
nice job
great solo
Final Cut Pro or iMovie for the standard videos
This is fuckin awesome Mann!
LambChopper678 yo man huge fan and what a cover your a mad guitarist but I've been trying to get that crunchy megadeth guitar sound for months now and I'm just wondering how you go about getting that same tone is it mainly pickups and what effects do you use
Sam Kay I dial into this tone in a very similar way to Slayer. I use a JCM800 style amp pushed pretty hard but then put an mxr 6 band eq in front setting up the sliders like a frown which pushes the mids up making that choppy tone. I use that technique a lot.
nice cover man!
It's awesome!
other than that, kick fucking ass, ive watched your megadeth videos all back to back
Wow, nice cover dude, you're amazing!!.
Thanks mate, I've been playing for the best part of 20 years. I understand I should be better for someone playing that long but the excess ability to learn has only been around in the last few. I spent many years learning from cd's and books with bad tab lol
This is a great cover, how much did you buy your angel of deth ?
Esto que haces de No backing track está muy bien!
You are great, AWESOME JOB :)
Great cover and amazing playing, congrats! How do you record the video (equipment) and which software do you use to edit it?
Hello're great.
What kind of program do you use to create your videos?
Amplitube metal on the Mac. I'm always happy to share presets
Final Cut Pro and about 20 years
Amazing.👌👌 I've been practicing this song for so long but I can't get the first half of the mastered
This is so awesome!!
hey i was wondering if you've heard about dave's new pickups with seymour dunc? was wondering if you could maybe test them out! would be cool to see!
When people ask why my favorite song is Tornado of souls is my favorite song(which they shouldn't), I'm going to play this video and say"that's why".
Thanks man, appreciated
Really nice bro, must admit I'm impressed, Megadeth is my favorite band :D but I'm more into drums I wanna be like Gar Samuelson one day lol, keep it up man you rock.
you are amazing at our covers! :D
I think you should’ve raised the volume of the bass and it’d be more accurate to the album version and add more low end to the bass so to get that thunpiness to it. Other than that excellent performance!!! 🤘🤘🤘
You are really awesome guy please keep playing guitar, the world will be really grateful if you do ;) You are really good and incredibly awesome
very good
You are really good. Got any tips for alternate picking? I'm lefty playing righty, and I am alright as a player, but I just can't seem to master the alternate picking thing with impossible solos. Any advice you, or/and other participants here could provide would be awesome. I know you are supposed to use a metronome and start slow, but I get bored to tears doing that. I just can't seem to get motivated doing that. I was thinking of getting a teacher to "force" me into practicing with the Metronome. Thanks.
+John Lain John Petrucci's Rock Discipline DVD, really hard and not much fun but you will be a shredder in weeks
LambChopper678 Thank you for the feed back. I like Dream Theater...I will check out JP's DVD. Have a good one.
3:14 👌
Nice cover
perfect, good song, good friedman´s solo !
or did you record video and audio separately?
Yeah I know but it's fun to do and I think I hit all the notes
I have amplitibe but i dont have the thing you use to plug in the guitar cable, do you know where i can get one?
Marty one of the under Rattled guitarist !!!!!!
dang, you played that solo better than chris broderick does live, and on tour he plays it every damn night
I've seen him do it live and it was amazing, he looked at me and was grinning during the stretching fast part toward the end of the solo. I appreciate your words man but he is pro, I'm a hack
LambChopper678 . So modest... You know you rock!
LambChopper678 . Modesty is really appreciate for some people, like me, it's annoying seeing people who doesn't play like you and they are so arrogant telling that they are beasts and gods and things like that, you did an awesome job on this song, and you know it!
This is a great cover, but chris plays live with no chances for re-recording and does so standing and after playing songs back to back in a hot mosh filled room...
Yes but in my opinion, adrenaline makes you to do much things better, and it includes playing guitar, i think that! :)
What program or app do you use?
Top!!!
nice!
I'll come back and do it again one day when I get better I guess
