One of the greatest Jazz albums of all time in my book! I’ve got a nice early pressing with RVG and plastylite ear. I also have and love the Classic series reissue so I don’t have to overplay my OG. Great video!
Cool! I never owned an original. I had a blue labeled UA and a Japanese copy for the longest and then I got a Liberty before I realized how good the AP’s and MMJ’s were.
@@AlbumInsights I strongly believe that the high quality audiophile reissues of all the iconic jazz records equally as good sonically (and on occasion even better sounding) as the OGs. As for myself the monetary value and collectibility factor for first and earlier pressings has been reduced to historical value and nostalgia. The value I once prized for their sound has diminished greatly. Unless I can find sealed or mint OG copies of Blue Note and other great jazz label releases the audiophile reissues are the best choice when it comes to sound quality.
@@Cookingwithsteveg I stopped caring about OG's a few years ago. I spent like $400 bucks on 3 OG's at a record store in Maryland. 2 were so noisy I should have took them back. One I already had a MMJ copy, but it was 45 and my turntable I have you have to take the platter off to adjust the belt when you want to hear 45's, so I spent the money. That was the day I started to go all in on Audiophile recordings. It was before MMJ started to increase their prices and long before they introduced the SRX series.
@@AlbumInsights Is that your voice in your videos? If so you have a fantastic voice for this kind of stuff. I was watching television the other night and I thought I heard your voice in a commercial. It wouldn’t surprise me if you do voice overs for a living.

Can’t go wrong with a Lee Morgan album. My favorite trumpet player.
You got that right. My favorite trumpeter.

Barry Harris often expressed how much he disliked this record. The word stupid would come up. Hard to believe given his beautiful playing on it.
