- After a nearly two-decade hiatus, Red Bull Heavy Metal is back - and heavier than ever. Taking place at the iconic Cascade Park in Duluth, MN, Red Bull Heavy Metal played host to 40 of the world’s top rail riders in a day-long street snowboarding competition unlike any other.
Three zone were carved out for the riders to session: “The Tower” featured a 20-foot tall drop, “The Playground” showcased a technical section of down bards, transfers, trees, and tables, and “The Metal,” the heaviest of the sections, focused on Cascade Park’s notorious kinked rail and 30-step stair set.
Not only was this a heated jam session with the world’s top street riders - this was a true showcase of the progression of street snowboarding.

I don’t get it why snowboarders and skaters have this stupid aversion against helmets.
I ride Enduro and Downhill Mountainbike and I wouldn’t dare to ride a trail without a good helmet!
I had some accidents in the past where my head was saved by the helmet so I don’t know how people can be so stupid..
Helmets even look super cool nowadays, so looks can’t be an argument anymore.
Red Bull should make it mandatory, otherwise they shouldn’t be allowed to ride!
I like how it goes from "I just wanna do something for the whole community" straight to "We've got 20,000 Dollars up for grabs today - Let's get this party started !!"

Didn't see the contest. Looks so gnarly! Just by watching this i feel like Miles Fallon deserved a spot on the podium, maybe he messed it up on the rail part but dude went crazy on that backflip to the picnic table damn. They should definitely put in another 10k for best trick next session. Loved to see it
Which really nice is to see the community that nobody outside the community gets to understand but everybody within the family can go out and just really enjoy themselves cheers to all of you who set it up and continue to keep it rolling

This was it!!! I am a pro Bboy. So I understand the difference between the Pro competitions and some raw underground shit. All cultures need a healthy balance of both. Out of all the snowboard tapes n comps i've watched over the years....this is one of the most hype i've been Shit seemd like a good time/vibe!! Please keep doing these, keep pushing the culture forward, keep having fun.
