Bas Rutten is the best example. GSP did Kyokushin, Shotokan, wrestling, MT, BJJ… it’s kind of funny that people always say he did TKD or Shotokan and ignore the Kyokushin part, though.

I'm actually the 'fat guy' in the video. I have a lot of respect for my opponent; I consider him a friend after our rematch. The only thing that's important is we love Kyokushin and all its aspects. All martial arts have their weaknesses, and some are criticized for their style or implemented rules. Focus on the passion of the artist and appreciate their works.

These karate styles are better than kyokushin:
Ashihara karate (kyokushin with semi clinch and throws)
      Enshin karate (ashihara off shoot)
Tsu Shin Gen (similar to ashihara with more throws, clinch, groundfighting)
Daido juku Kudo (karate + judo clinch, throws and ground fighting)
      Zendokai (off shoot from kudo)
Wajutsu Keishukai (off shoot from kudo)
Shidokan (triatlon style with kyokushin rules, kickboxing rules and mma rules)
      Seidokaikan (kyokushin with head punches)
      Shin karate
Budokaikan all round fighting (kyokushin + judo throws and groundfighting)
Seiwakai karate (kyokushin with brazilian mma and boxing)
Sato juku odo karate (kyokusjin with limited slugging amd more technique)
Koi karate (russian kyokushin with no rules)
German jujutsu (shotokan + judo + aikido)
Certain kenpo styles that resemble mma like byakuren who also fight in kyokushin tournaments alot
I don't know what kyokushin is doing, but they need to step up their game. It is ridiculous how they grew vs how they started.

    • @prvtthd401

@bo xer You didn't even read my comments.
      1. I never said mma is better than kyokushin. The list is all karate styles. I said all these karate styles are better than Kyokushin.
      2. I am not saying you should train them, I am promoting the lesser known karate styles people should be aware of ESPECIALLY because I keep hearing "kyokushin is the best". Can you really claim Kyokushin is still the best if you go through that list? The list is literally Kyokushin off-branch that improved on Kyokushin because Kyokushin refuses to improve nowadays.
      3. I am also making a point that Kyokushin has become watered down. Kyokushin used to include standardize throws and many more. It is ridiculous how limiting it became.
Of course you can train whatever you want. I train Aikido, Judo and Kyokushin. But be honest, you can't say Kyokushin is the best anymore.

    • @prvtthd401
      @prvtthd401 Рік тому +3

@bo xer aaah okay, my bad I misread and thought you were trying to gaslight me. I don't think mma is better than everything I listed (gloves, context and sportoriented rules), but that is another discussion.
It is not about what they want. That is why I said I train aikido: the most useless martial arts arguably. But I like it and have fun doing it. He should do whatever he wants I don't care.
My main point is his claim that kyokushin is the best specifically in sports and competition and the fact that he probably claims that because he and many other kyokushin practitioners are not even aware of the many other options they have. There are so many options out there with improvements and options.
I am not only talking about additional techniques, adding more techniques doesn't make an art better it has to become a standardized cohesive system that keeps improving and I feel like kyokushin could improve on that especially when you have so many practitioner that claim Kyokushin is the best. Too many people have this cult like mentality while being oblivious of where kyokushin could improve on and where kyokushin could've been. That is where I ended my note on.

Kick was solid. You could hear the thud as his shin made contact with the guy's head, and the guy went down immediately. That's a legit kick, and it can definitely be applied to.a.streetfight, provided he executes that with enough speed. Considering that to be a high kick to the head, he cannot be taking his time with the kick, it has to be fast. But the way he executed the kick here, that shit was beautiful to look. If he did that to a guy in a streetfight, chances are that guy will probably do down as well, just like his opponent here, 'cos the shin is really strong. After that, if he proceeds to pound him on the ground or kick the living hell out of him after, that's up to him, 'cos streetfights have no rules, and there are no referees who'll come in to stop the fight, like what you see here...lol
