Yes, just lock or unlock within the ST App plus see a history of dates and times when the device was locked and unlocked. You see much more detail in the U-Tec App wherein you setup the lock, to include the authorized person(s) who entered, dates, times, etc.

Is there a Smartthings compatible simple door knob lock (not a deadbolt)? Need it for an inner garage entry door but I would have to make new holes for the deadbolt (door is metal I think).

we bought the UltraLoq lever to use on our garage entry door - fits in the standard holes for a door knob without a deadbolt and we love that we can use a code or fingerprint to open it
Will it work without the hub? I want to go zwave with home assistant and have the zooz zwave usb antenna. Ive setup other zwave devices this way without the smart things hub.

Bud, if after installing this lock, does it require that the u-tek app STAY installed on smartphone? I'm asking b/c I would install using smartapp, but would like to uninstall it after the lock is installed and setup with ST. Thanks!
I haven't tried his because there is a lot of good data in the U-Tec App, but I do not foresee an issue. The Lock resides a generic 'Z-Wave Lock' DTH in the Groovy IDE so it should be fine without the U-Tec App. I have requested an Edge Driver from the ST Community and hope to have that soon. Since the DTH is a stock device handler, it should be automatically transitioned by SmartThings before 12/31.
I am extremely happy with it. More importantly, it is wife approved. It is very well constructed and has been very reliable. My only issue with it is that I have not been successful in finding an edge driver for it as yet. It will likely be assigned a standard Z-Wave driver by the SmartThings eventually. If not, I likely need to grab the devices fingerprints and go onto the ST Community to request that the fingerprints be added to one of the stock drivers.

@@samh4843 - I installed this at the end of September last year. The app states that the battery is "Medium" so I am assuming that I have used about half of the battery life. I believe that battery life is estimated at 1 year on average use of 20 times access per day. It takes four AA's.
Hi Bud, looks like a great lock. I have a Schlage Z Wave+ Smartlock that works with the Smart Home Monitoring piece of SmartThings. Do you know if the SHM will continue after the 1st of the year within SmartThings? I don’t even know if the Schlage will continue to work after Jan 1. Unhappy times coming soon!

No. I have requested driver on the SmartThings Community forum but one has not been developed at this time. Hopefully one will be available soon.
