@@Keideezy- I’ve received various feedback from my wife’s family and friends ( older & younger generations ) where some say it counts on the year, and others consider on actual lunar new year. Its never a cut and dry reply even with busdist questions I have, always receive multiple replies 🤷🏻♂️
Babies born before Chinese new year Feb 10, 2024 is still Rabbit (2023)..I was born the year of the snake but since my bday is right before Chinese new year I’m still dragon, dragon tail that is. U can ask any Chinese ppl or Asians in general. they will tell u the same.
@@alycks6056 Thanks for your input. the funny thing is that my wife is Chinese and Vietnamese decent, and both sides of the family can’t confirm and even when I asked at the Budist temple in our trip to Australia and back home it’s always up for debate. 🤔🤷🏻♂️

I will cop if the price is retail or not far off. Im not feeling anything expensive for 2024, I can just chill but a really nice colourway and design for sure🐉

These are meh. The red isn't even the vibrant red you get with red envelopes or other lunar new year decorations. The silver sockliner also throws it off.

Hi Sean. Great review. Got 2 pairs. Not sure if anyone noticed. The dragon and jumpman logo behind the Nike tag on the tongue, small detail but special. I’ve never seen any jordan 1s that has a design element fused together with the jumpman logo.
Really nice review bro. I’m happy that the reselling for jordans have flopped and that the ppl who truly want these can get them with no problem.

Maybe it’s just Korean thing but every year there is also a color and animal combination. This year is actually blue dragon, which made me have hoped that Nike threw some blue colors in their design.

Finally got my pair! I must say that I agree on the sizing. Most could probably comfortably got down half a size for a snug fit. I need the extra room so I didn't mind. I think it's a beautiful sneaker. The look and feel of the scales is unique. This was a personal pair because I was born on the Year of the Dragon.

Great review Sean! A nice pair, not quite as nice as the year of the rabbit pair but decent. I have noticed too over the last 10 years how more and more non-mainland Chinese now refer to it as the lunar new year. Back in the day all my Taiwanese, HK and Malaysian Chinese friends would still say CNY but I guess the CCP is trying to claim a monopoly on the term so I understand the switch. I thought so too, but in person the reds look too good to swap. It really ties the theme together so i left them in.
They could have easily gone down a gawdy route with these but they scaled it back and kept it so simple yet stylish. Trying to cop a pair myself, fingers crossed! 🐉

Does the satin inner heel cause any slippage? I had the Eddie Huang CNY Ultraboost in red and gold, absolutely one if my favorite UB colorways, but that satin inner material caused too much sliding to feel comfortable, so I ended up selling them. 😢
if you get the sizing right i think it’s fine, but yeah it’s a bit more slick than normal I guess

Glad Jordan made these. So far what I've seen for LNY sneakers, it's pretty bad. The other Nike offerings are meh. The NB LNY collection isn't bad CWs, but has nothing to do with LNY. It just looks like a collection of random CWs on random sneakers put together. Also haven't seen any leaks from any other sneaker company. I thought companies would jump on the Year of the Dragon CWs. Seems like I was wrong.
New balances collection was extremely disappointing
Sizing I go half size down. However on the new OG 85 releases I’d stick to TTS. They come snug. So going half size down on those was a mistake.

I would say there is zero chance they will release last year’s model this year. That’s like trying to sell Happy New Year 2023 merch in December 2023. Highly doubt it.

@@flimgenco so year of the rabbit they released multiple colorways of the year of the rabbit and overseas did a limited numbered release the US got a dif shoe .Now im wondering if this year there will also be dif style pairs releasing overseas like an dif year of the dragon shoe for 2024 released in china or elsewhere . Like the numbered year of the rabbit they got last year which the US didnt
@@Twosevenboy1 ah, well, there are several models coming out, like 7 in all or something. AJ1 OG lows, an AJ1 low, AJ2 lows, etc. some are limited to 2,024 pairs, can’t remember which ones.
